Castello di Polgeto is one of the best hidden secrets in Umbria.

It was built in 1399 on the site of a fortified post dating back to the 12th century.

The total floor area (excluding walls) is 2,100 square meters.

There are 13 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms. Heated infinity pool 15 x 4 meters, walled tennis court, tree house, Mature formal gardens and 52 Hectares of woodland and arable land.

The first and the second floor contain the Library, Living room, dinning hall, kitchen and children area.

The other two floors are dedicated to bedrooms, some with living area attached and all with private bathroom.

Castello di Polgeto comes with 54 hectares of land, garden, swimming pool,and tennis court.

Anything that old has a story, has a history that should be known. Fancy furniture and a new coat of paint just cannot cover certain things.

The first question you should ask is why it is sold in the first place rather than being a heritage site, why is it on the open market and why so cheap.

My guess is that 'new books' have been written to change the narrative and cover up something in its past. If not white folks particularly Europeans are not in the habit of 'pimping' real historical stuff and Italy lives and breathes on its antiquity.

I think Italy is one of the oldest country on earth. With that structure one can tell that it was built during the reign of Christ or few years after it.

Houses do wear and tear, houses atimes have cracks, even the foundation can be affected. Looking at the wood patterns on the ceilings, I observed they are ancient patterns, very old stuffs, how they didn't wear off is what amazes me. So the house may have been renovated severally.

Have you ever seen a dilapidated building? What makes a building dilapidated? Simple...it's empty and abandoned. As long as human beings live in a building or are using it, then it will not encounter the problems you mentioned. Why? Maintenance, which entails fixing things, painting and keeping the building clean.

The Windsor castle is a residence of the king Charles and it's older than 600years and bigger than this Italian castle by far. How do you think it has stood so long?
