Nairalanders I need the elders input, I am currently on a job here in Lagos (salary is 400k), now I got another job in Osun state (salary is 250k). Should I go for the job in Osun due to Lagos expensive lifestyle. I want advice solely on financial aspects. I am leaving details out since I am not interested in the career aspects of both jobs.

Osun any day anytime. You will live like a king with such amount in Osun.
A friend recently got a job in Osun state, the 2 bedroom apartment he stays in most Lagos residents in Bungalow would give and arm and leg to stay in such an apartment.


While in Osun, you can build your business and house.

400k actual value in Lagos is like 200k depending on whether you live in the island or mainland, osun state will give you a real value for your money but you can't compare it to the exposure you'll get in Lagos but Lagos traffic stress and house rent na for the strong hearted.

You are leaving out some key information that would help in the decision making.

How much do you spend monthly for your own up keep in Lagos?
Do you pay rent? How much do you spend on food and transit?
Consider these things, and obtain information on the cost of living in Osun and do the math.

If you break down your expenses, perhaps we could advise better.

Think of these:
- advancement opportunities
- private work opportunities
- family opportunities
- net income after taxes AND necessary expenses
- and as a higher earning Nigerian, japa considerations.

If you like Lagos Life style, exposure or development stay in lag but if you want peace of mind, cool place, less stress/ traffic and other normal style of living go to osun
With 250k you can live a good lifestyle in osun with cool saving.
