This isn't a tribal jab, I'm Delta Igbo originally, South East is more than landlocked that they could barely even breathe. Know this and know peace. Then secondly, it's too clustered for sane humans. Zero town planning.

Yes it is a tribal jab! don't deny your thought!

I can't phantom what you seems to be analyzing when you don't know the simple meaning of Landlocked, I will forgive you if you forgot.

you need to make more research on how flooding occurs, I. will not educate you because I don't have that luxury of time as time is money.

educate yourself more before making a fool of yourself.

The Niger bridge is literally between Delta and Anambra. Are you drunk or just determined to push a false narrative?
Exactly what I have been waiting for you to bring up because you all appear deluded.

What's that thing you said about the cause of this particular flood?
Overflow of River Niger? Or Lagdo dam in Cameroon?
Mind you, to help your ignorance. River Benue is what has link to Lagdo Dam not River Niger, so please make me understand why Anambra is submerged in flood?

You are being a crybaby.
Going by this your nonsensical submission, AkwaIbom, Rivers, Calabar, Taraba and perhaps Benue should be several feet under water already. How is Anambra being affected more than those bordering Cameroon?
.

The Lagdo Dam is located 50 km south of the city of Garoua on the Benue River,Northern part of Cameroon. The water released from the Dam flows directly into River Benue which flows downward to States found within the Delta Region, South-East &North-Central States, which has affected residents.

So Cross River State and Akwa Ibom State shouldn't be affected that much cos they're closer to Central & Southern part of Cameroon by the Atlantic Ocean.

The water released flows downward, after meeting with River Niger in the Confluence Town, Lokoja, Kogi State, mind you Anambra shares boundaries with Kogi.
It includes the valley of the lower Anambra River, which is a tributary of the Niger River.

Dam that Nigerian government was supposed to build since 1980 they refused. Since 1980 till this day, every year Nigerians have been facing flooding issues over and over again since over 40years and the government didn’t even check to see what the cause of these floods were, if not for social media.

U be fóol sha!

The water released from the dam followed the River Niger and Benue tributary which caused the river to overflow it's banks.

THE REASON BEHIND THIS NATIONAL DISASTER.... WICKED AND NEGLIGENT LEADERSHIP AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL.
NOTE: This national disaster did not respect religion, regions ir parties.
Both churches, mosques and shrines were affected.
Vote responsible leadership this time around.

*Inability of Nigerian FG To Build Dasin Hausa Buffer Dam In Adamawa State is the Cause of the Massive Flooding.*

The construction of the Lagdo Dam located in Northern Cameroon started in 1977 and was completed in 1982.

Due to the release of water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon, many Nigerian communities along the courses of River Niger and River Benue have been affected by floods.

The flooding which has claimed many lives and properties has also ravaged communities in Delta, Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, Anambra, and Nasarawa state.

In September, the National Emergency Management Agency and the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NHISA) informed Nigerians that “the Lagdo Dam operators in the Republic of Cameroon, had commenced the release of excess water from the reservoir on September 13, 2022”.

The agencies said they were “aware that the released water cascades down into Nigeria, through River Benue and its tributaries, thereby overwhelming communities that have already been impacted by heavy rainfall”.

But the flooding problem can be traced back to the 80s when the Nigerian government failed to honour an agreement it had with the Cameroonian authorities.

The construction of the Lagdo Dam located in Northern Cameroon started in 1977 and was completed in 1982.

At inception, Cameroon and Nigeria had an agreement to build two dams such that when water is released from the Cameronian dam, the Nigerian dam would contain it and prevent it from causing floods.

So, to cushion the effect of possible flooding from the Lagdo dam in Cameroon, the Nigerian government agreed to build a shock-absorber dam tagged Dasin Hausa Dam in Adamawa State.

The Dasin Hausa dam was supposed to be two and a half the size of the Lagdo dam, which was built to supply electricity to the northern part of Cameroon and allow the irrigation of 15,000 hectares of crops downstream.

Like the Lagdo dam, the dam project sited at the Dasin Village of Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State was supposed to generate 300 megawatts of electricity and irrigate about 150,000 hectares of land in Adamawa, Taraba, and Benue states.

But sadly, since 1982, the Nigerian government has yet to complete the building of the Dasin Hausa dam.

As a result, anytime the Cameroonian government releases excess water from the Lagdo dam, communities in Kogi, Benue, Adamawa,Anambra Delta ,Bayelsa, Edo State get flooded.

According to the spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Manzo Ezekiel, the 2022 flooding is the highest Nigeria has ever had since 2012.

The Damages So Far In 2022

The flood has displaced thousands of Nigerians resident and many houses completely been submerged for days.

A lot of persons have reportedly died and vast hectares of farmland have been destroyed.

Since the opening of the Lagdo dam in September, thousands of people have reportedly to have flee for safety. IDPs campaign has been open to temporary accommodate victims.

Wetin be the real cause of this kinda things
there was an agreement btw fg and Cameroon in 1989 that we will build additional dam but thrust Nigeria govt to do so on paper..the realase of the damn by both countries..we release to them they get flooded they too do same..Cameroon doesnt release cuz Nigeria govt was not prepared..according to d agreement the water was suppose t0 be used to generate more power and for irrigation purposes..so when they empty thier dams which we also do ,Nigeria was not prepared

You're actually talking nonsense. Do you even understand the reason for the flooding happening all over Nigeria?

Na wa oh,

Some of you just thrive in throwing insults around. One would think you know what you're talking about. It's a shame.

Is Anambra not a bordering state with Kogi?

The river Benue overflowed it's banks from the effect of the dam release and the flood affected over 60% of Kogi, then filtered into Anambra affecting like 30% of Anambra from the Kogi/Anambra borderline. The one from River Niger affected Asaba too and also filtered into Onitsha since they share the same border.

That's the reason why Anambra seems to be hard hit cause it came from two sides...the Southern part (Delta) and the Northern part (Kogi)
