The exchange rate is $1 = 10.89 cedis. The title of this thread is misleading. Cedis is by far stronger than naira 1 Like 1 Share |

It seems some anti progressive forces just want to make the somewhat undecerning minds to think Nigeria is doing any much better than forward looking african countries! Including Ghana! If we don’t stop unhealthy reporting and rethorics, Haiti and Somalia might just be our only next comparison. |

To educate una go hard o! 1000 Naira will get you more goods and commodity in Nigeria than in Ghana. A Ghanaian with 25 Cedis wil get lesser goods in Ghana but if he takes his 25 Cedis to Nigeria he will get much goods than he did in Ghana. In essence, the Naira have good purchasing power than the Cedis. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

MoneyMustBMade:Let me explain it to you like this, it is very easy to get 1k naira but it is not easy to get 1k ghana cedis, let go this way again, my salary in Nigeria is 200k naira but in Ghana with the same job, it is 1000ghana cedis, With your explanation, I can easily get 5000naira daily in Nigeria but my one month salary is 1000Ghana cedis! So you can’t just say if you take 1k naira and 1k Ghana cedis to US, I guess you understand? 9 Likes 1 Share |

MoneyMustBMade: Your 1k Cedis value is 10000000, while 1000 Naira is 1.42 dollars. So the true value of the 1000 Cedis is 0.0000008 dollars. You get these values when your exchange rate is cosmetics. 12 Likes |

Too many educated illiterates in dis forum. For many, the hatred of anything Naija has turned into utter stupidity. If Nigeria CBN re-dominate or 'window-dressed' the Naira simply by knocking off four zeros as Ghana did in July of 2007, our N1000 will become N0.1 (10 Kobo). What most Nigerians do not know is that 1 Ghanian cedi (GHc) is actually 1000 cedis, when one factors in the 2007 'window dressing' of the cedis by Ghana Central Bank. As per International currency exchange market: US$1 = N435.6 , hence if Nigeria CBN knocks off four zeros that'll be US$1 = N0.4356 or 43.56 Kobo US$1 = 10.95 GHc (with window dressing) = 109, 500 cedis Actually, 1 GHc = N0.003978 or 1000 cedis = N39.78 Most are fooled into thinking the cedi is stronger than Naira. Naira no be cedis mate by a long stretch.

Hmmm..... borrowing from IMF or World Bank is like borrowing from Satan. Draconian conditions come with IMF loans .... devaluation of currency... that is now in effect .... freezing of Public Sector salaries and selling off of government assets.... this is just the beginning of the end. 1 Like |
