This instigated enough crisis repeatedly until they (insurgents) became too strong, and the people too vulnerable to reign in their excesses.

Surprised you guys don’t yet see the pattern of where the southeast region is headed, that is if it is not there already. Non state actors are taking over, and can’t be changed peacefully by the people like it’s done in a democracy, which suggests usually becomes a bigger problem with time.
