(1). Some NIS passport office don't allow Rescheduling of appointment ( eg festac NIS passport office) their portal is disabled for this , so you have to go and capture any day or time after you missed your appointment

So which centre did you choose?

(2) duration is 1 years not 6 months starting from the day you made payment online.
So if you did not capture within the durations then you will need to start afresh with new payment the system will cancel your previous application informations

A Nigerian passport doesn't give you access to most countries, why not get a second passport from either Europe or America that can give you visa free access to more than 150 countries and even work without restrictions.

This is not correct except things have changed in Alausa center.I opened file 3 days before capturing in April this year, and collected passport in July. Opening a file days before capturing will save you from paying unexpected fees. Please update the house if things have changed.

Things have changed between April and now.
I wanted to open file a day before my capturing last month, I was directed to come on the appointment day.
When I went for the capturing, all those that came to open file before their capturing day were turned back.
By the way...it takes less than an hour to open file and get interview

Hello Chief, please this NIN validation, can it be done at the immigration office because I have been at it at the enrollment centers for a while now without success, it’s apparent the agents had turned the whole thing to a cash cow they don’t intend to stop milking. The NIN is the only reason I haven’t made payment for the renewal. I need to get it done and out of the way cos I need the document by February.

Go to servicom in your application centre it will be resolved there take along your original NIN slip and your application form slip

If it is just about validation and nothing else. Message them on Facebook. You should get response the following day requesting for your NIN for validation. Provide it and your request will be acted upon. Note that, the validation will be done forty-eight hours after acted upon. Best of luck.

At first when applying for my DIY passport
The date for capturing that was available was 28th.

I went to open my file and submitted all the necessary document on 13th of october including my appointment date which is showing 28th November.

Now, I just checked online and saw that some dates are now available
I then rescheduled my appointment to 9th of November.

If I go on the 9th of November
Hope it won't cause any issue since my appointment date that was formerly 28th has already been changed to 9th.

Also, on my file, they also wrote 28th of November

Timeline

Passport Renewal
64 pages/ 10 years
Amount: NGN70,000
Paid: 30th of May 2022.
Captured: 4th of August 2022
Passport received: 17th of October 2022

Issue date: 1st of September (This simply means my passport was lounging with them until they were ready to part ways with it ) now the 9th of September I have on my slip as official collection date makes perfect sense now but e be like say na as the spirit direct for them or there may be other processes it needs to go through after production.

No text message, application tracker not updated until passport was received and I simply tracked out of curiosity after I got home and saw it has been updated.

The real truth? There is no fast track generally especially in Lagos passport offices, however, there are levels to these things as a few of those officers based on their level or unit within the NIS may be able to fast track for you (so don’t come for me on how your contact helped you within 2 hours )

Most of them will just collect your money and be posting you. At the end of the day, you will get your passport about the same time as team DIY.

Today some were lamenting about how they paid for DIY and were yet to get their passport while some lamented on how they were just getting their passport today after the fast track. Mind you these are people who captured about the same time as I did, some even way earlier than I did.

If it’s not a matter of urgency, don’t waste your money, just go via the DIY method, as a matter of fact if we all stop encouraging them to be corrupt, life will be easier for everyone.
