AS Roma steward guy was fired for taking a selfie with Victor Osimhen. And the Nigerian intervened. Small gestures of humility and greatness.

"After finishing my studies, I started working as a steward. Sunday was my first day of work. After the game, I went to the area where the players pass and where they are expected by their friends and friends."I met Nigerian journalists Oma Akatugba and asked him who he was waiting for. He told me he was waiting for Victor. Osimhen is my idol, on my 18th birthday cake, he was even on It. I asked Victor for a selfie and an AS Roma official arrived telling me that I had no right to be with a footballer at my workplace and that I risked being fired."

"At that moment, Victor stood up and asked the manager for an explanation and asked why he had this reaction saying, 'He's my brother and he's with me, why are you doing this? "before asking me how much they were paying me."I tried to reason with him because having met him was enough, but he insisted, so I told him how much I earned and he was disgusted, he did not accept the fact that I was treated like this by such a figure. So he told Oma, his journalist friend to write to me and that he would take care of the situation. I was impressed, it made me realize what a person he is with a huge heart."

"He has incredible, immense humility. He didn't care that I was just a simple tifoso, he insisted that I stay close to him and was worried about losing my job. He is a golden person, an incredible man and he does not make the star. I want to thank Oma because without him this would never have happened. I chose my idol really well.I followed Oma to meet Victor. He took me by the arm and I sat down next to him. My hands were shaking, it was my dream. I showed him pictures and videos and he loved it."

"I'm always looking for little hidden anecdotes about Victor. And when I showed him my 18th birthday cake he was overjoyed."

Thanks Meli. wink

And yes, we can have both onfield but you see one has to choose a side of the discussion to debate. I chose to play against even though I am a fan of Eze. I guess I wanted to pick the harder route on my debut. Lol

So yes, Eze and Iwobi together is tactically feasible and can work but again, looking extra carefully at both, the passing ranges of both lads are similar. I personally will switch things up a bit and put another Midfielder with broader passing range to complement Iwobi.

And then Eze's Defensive numbers aren't so decent. I will ensure the MF with a broader passing range picked also offers enough defensively.

You are right, Nerdie.

in my assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of our players, Eze may not have a starting berth especially in midfield, however the left wing is open. He has what it takes to start there depending on the how the coach intends to approach the game.

He played CAM in his last game and bagged 2 assists.

Be it CM, CAM or DLP, the lad is effective.

Rest!

Picture below, Iwobi playing at wingback, last season.

The fact he can effectively play that position doesn't mean that's his best role.

It is already established that Iwobi's talents should not be wasted on the wings no matter how well he does there. He did well at RB/RWB last season... have you seen calls from me for him to continue there? You are just deliberately twisting the context of "Effective" all because you want to defend your gaffe on Iwobi and I have clearly stated several times that Iwobi excelled in all positions he played last season be it RB, CM, LM, RM or Wingback.

What we have here is a narrowing down of the fact that Iwobi's best roles lie centrally and be it AM, CM or DLP, he is at his MOST EFFECTIVE.

That is the bone of discourse. So don't bring up Wingback nonsense when we all already know Wingback is not where he is at his very best compared to Central roles.

You are the one who said Iwobi won't do well as an AM.

You are the one who called him a Brain Freeze whenever he enters the box yet his entering the box has produced what is arguably the assist of the season so far. And he did it Playing AM

You are also the one who was arguing with me when I said Iwobi was gonna play midfield vs Fleetwood Town even if Tom Davies had started because I suspected Lampard was gonna try out a midfield 3 and this he eventually did by the next 2 matchdays of the EPL after that League Cup tie and it had been a midfield 3 ever since.

Your argument that day?? You said Iwobi was gonna play winger. How that has been proven wrong till this day is funny and you never called it back to say how wrong you were.

You never owned up to your wrong call then despite witnessing how right I was. Yet you claim as seen in the post below to own up to being wrong. How fallacious.
TheLoneCitizen:

Who said anything about fight?
Admitting a wrong is the easiest thing for me, brother.

So Citizen... It is not I who has to learn. It is rather You. Coz you have again been proven wrong as regards Iwobi featuring as a #10 just as you have been times and times again since we first engaged in discussions.

Doesn't it bother you that you always end up being wrong with respect to arguments with me? grin

Iwobi has played, very effectively, 3 midfield roles this season... 6, 8 and 10 and he has been brilliant on almost all occasions with the last producing 2 assists with him in the #10 (AM) role.

You said, EVERY TIME IWOBI GOES INTO THE BOX, HE SUFFERS A BRAIN FREEZE. EVERY TIME, YOU SAID.

That was clearly you pushing your fallacious agenda for Iwobi's inability or insufficiency for the AM role.

So rest! Own up to your Brain-Freeze Gaffe. wink

Well, Eze on the left is possible even though he is more comfortable as an AM through the middle. But I trust he will operate more invertedly encroaching into the left halfspaces in the final third. He is pretty good at receiving the ball on the half turn and such plays mean he would need a strong overlapping fullback with fine recovery who would attack the touchline gap Eze's inverted movement would create.

Eze will feature as a kind of false winger in this set-up. A winger-playmaker. So yes, it is possible as long as the other tactical sides of this set-up are well drawn and in sync and like you said, depends on game approach.

I don't think it's so simplistic.

Iwobi goal scoring record over his entire career is very far from prolific. He does a lot of good work coming forward and since at Everton also backtracking and defending.

However, he sometimes flatters to decieve that he should score a lot more as a AM/ CM . Bu he just doesn't.

On the other hand Eze coming forward look a lot more likely to score.

A comparison of their statistics confirms the observation. Iwobi in over 8 seasons of EPL football has never scored more than 3 goals in a season. It's predominantly 1 or 2 goals as a season.

Eze first season in the EPL he scored 4 after scoring 14 goals in the Championship. Eze didn't do too much in 2021/22 he was largely injured but still scored 1 goal after 13 games coming on largely as a substitute from injury. But it's 11 games and he has scored 2 and Iwobi after 12 has scored 1.

I really have no preference but as a goal threat and I think Eze has a bit more invention and unpredictability.

I think the SE could play with both and a hard working DM like Onyeka and or Ndidi behind them.

How many times did Iwobi ACTUALLY feature as AM in the EPL for Club that you should compare with Eze's AM Stats in the Bloody Championship?

Iwobi as an AM in the Super Eagles has more than most produced good numbers. We saw that especially under Rohr. So his goal threat is also present.

As for the bolded in your last sentence... it just shows you don't know anything tactically related to midfield plays and you don't mean well for the progress of the Super Eagles.

What do you mean by Onyeka and/or Ndidi. So you considering Onyeka and Ndidi as a possibility in the same midfield?? Goodness!!!

Playing with limited MFs like Onyeka and Ndidi both in the starting lineup will only give you physical power, more brawns but very little (or marginally zero) brains.

Ball playing at its worst. Passing sequences will suffer. We would always be on the backfoot.

Bia Komekn, you don't mean well for us at all and you clearly lack understanding of tactical middle game dynamics and what's required to establish a truly balanced Midfield.

Rest!

P.S: We are not getting Eze anytime soon. He still has English Three Lions Goals. So I guess we should stop fantasizing about what will likely NEVER HAPPEN until he decides to turn up for us.

Chukwueze's goal yesterday from slightly outside the edge of the box, centrally.
Had missed a really big chance earlier.

Check from 4mins 45secs of the video highlights.
