APC claimed they built infrastructure but they cannot claim they didn't make the people poorer. APC brought us hunger!!! Get the message! A bag of rice is now 45k. It was 7k when they came on board. They have made our lives worse. They really mismanaged our economy.

The Federal government Wednesday took the initiative to decongest existing ports in the country as it approved a $1.35billion contract for the construction of a new Deep Sea Port in Lekki- Lagos State.

Minister of transport Senator Idris Umar who briefed state house correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting said the project which is expected to be completed within the next four years is to constructed under a public private partnership PP arrangement on a concession basis for a period of 45 years after which it will revert to the federal government.

The Minister explained that the federal government has 20 percent equity in the project with Lagos state having 18.5percent equity while the private investors have 61.85 percent stake in the project.

He said “Council approved the issuance of a Guarantee to cover financial obligation of the NPA to pay compensation in the event of expropriation, war, civil disturbance, breach of contract and other event of default as per the concession agreement for the development of the port, as $800million out of the project cost is to be funded through debt financing while the balance of $554.5million is to be contributed by equity.

Watching a lady profess her feelings to a guy is damn so cute.

I personally have a lot of respect for such ladies, because it takes a lot of courage to tell someone how you feel about them especially if the feelings are genuine.

The truth is when you put National interest first, this port was not necessary for Lagos state as at now, Lagos is very tight and congested causing a lot of pain and hardship on commuters with accidents of containers falling of trailers, this port would have been better utilised in other regions of the country in dire need of working ports to reduce the menace In Lagos and also open other regions to easy import and export.
Imagine the rubbish that a human being is typing?

Containers are falling in Lagos so containers do not fall in Kano
There is a Juju that makes containers fall in Lagos?

If you do not know what to say keep quiet
The Port was funded 100% by private money and they know where to invest

Congestion has nothing to do with number of ports do educate yourself properly
Lagos is going to get ANOTHER port in Badagry and I hope that does not make you suicidal

Oga the port was built by Lagos state government. Are you expecting Lagos state government to go and build ports for other states? Why do most of you like embarrassing yourselves online?

This is where rail infrastructure should have been located.
A coastal rail line interconnecting ports along the coast from Lagos all the way to Eket with spurs heading east and north.
This will have removed tremendous loads off our intercity highways and drastically lowered the cost of maintenance.
We need to be strategic thinkers for comprehensive development.
That port on its own without viable supporting transport infrastructure can transform Lekki into a vehicular nightmare.
