1.Atiku has the connections...even more than Tinubu and Obi self.

2.Southerners are not united when it comes to our political interests. See the mess that resulted when attempts were made to make sure PDP fieleded a Southern candidate....there was a declaration at Asaba, and a few days later...some people went and backed Atiku...AFTER agreeing that a Southerner should be PDP candidate...AND they were SOutherners....

3.Bitterness. Igbos largely supported GEJ. Yourbas supported Buhari. In the year 2014. Buhari won. The anger has not died down. (On Nairaland...the political section is divided between Buharists and GEJIsts...with neutrals in the middle). The anger even dates back to the 1950's when Azikiwe was prevented from becoming Western region premier..because.....and since then, sniping hath happened. The question u should be asking is why did the southerners from the west side choose an illitrate northern coup plotter candidate over an educated southern liberal candidate in 2015?

Why will our western brothers see a better candidate like Obi and still prefer Tinubu? Our same western brothers prefer Atiku to win the presidential election than Peter Obi to win it, same as the Igbo do prefer Atiku to win it than Tinubu.

It is only we the South South that are liberal in our support for Peter Obi as a southern candidate.
