This is one of the most honest opinions in my view on Nairaland to be honest. Most northerners believe Yoruba Muslims are not true Muslims. Can a northern Muslim Governor or Atiku dares to recite the Psalms as Sanwooolu recites Islamic verses in a church during an election period? Yoruba's liberal world-view of the Nigerian ethno-cultural reality is too myopic.

It is compulsory to learn it and recite it during prayers on the assembly every Friday if you attend public schools in Lagos and other Yoruba states.
That was how many of us learnt it; from school.

There is no religious division; we recite it together on Fridays while Mondays to Thursdays are for praying in Christian way.

These values help you to take your all-round education serious, be tolerant, have the fear of God/Allah and remain humble; ethos of Omoluabi.

That is why the Yoruba hardly send their wards to other regions to get education; from primary school to secondary to even tertiary education,we have the best educational system others can learn from. Education is serious business and competition in Yorubaland o so don't toy with your education here or you and your family will get mocked.

You're deceiving yourself. There's is no how you can upset party with 22 governors with five in opposition standing on the fences. They can decided to use any means to win. Strategy are important and I can see it being playing already. Tinubu is your president. Religion influence can't have 50% on the influence of the election. There was never a time such nonsense was recited in my school when I was in Lagos, of course did went to a govt school. Only Psalm 23 was recited before we March to our various classes. Don't you ever mislead the public!
