Japa to Russia is the equivalent of the proverbial frying pan to fire or have you not seen Russians running away from their country to escape conscription...

This half salary ended up creating bad blood & did more harm than good.
What is full salary for a whole FG? Sometimes you need to make sacrifices in the spirit of peace & goodwill.

The Buhari regime places little priority on Education &so they can afford to be playing ping-pong with the future of our youths.
I wonder my brother. Is full salary too much for them to pay? I just wish I'll leave this country soon

I personally don't see any thing wrong with the salary paid to ASUU lecturer's. It reflects the number of days they have worked. The industrial court ordered them back. They appealed against the judgement.
Their plea is before a court of competent jurisdiction. The court would interpret wether no work no pay is right or wrong. So there is just no reason to call our honourable minister unprintable names.

See as you embarrass yourself - it's standard in public service.

For instance if someone is deceased before the 15th of a month he will be paid for the number of days he was alive - pro rata
Mr I don't work in the public service, I don't know the lingua franca you people are using, there is nothing embarrassing in learning a new word.

Let me shock you Samer Nigerians.....the foolish tribalistic Yoruba lecturers will still vote Tinubu for crumbs n come online to cry later. Pls I'm a scholar and I know what I'm saying. These people are irredeemable due to tribalism. Instead of competence Obi portray with hope, as long as it's not Yoruba, they won't vote him. You know I told the federal government that I am in support of no work no pay, for goodness sake, if you pay them for the 7 months they didn't work, who will compensate the students for the injustice. Let the federal government deal heavily with these wicked, foolish scholars who saw a man without certificate and voted him in against a scholar GEJ all because of E mi lo kan abi na Yoruba lo kan. Fools, I will always say my own they should abolish that useless ASUU. Let me see if heaven will fall. Stupid Dons.

First do you know why they went on strike?
And do you think they enjoy going on strike
and starving for the duration of that strike?
Furthermore, you said they should apologize to students and parents, where do you think their own children are? Abroad?
You should be pointing fingers at your government for their obvious disregard for the educational sector.

Lol. As always, everything has come down to a single issue and demand: salary.
They always talk about education funding, research, facilities, training and all that. But eventually, it always came down to salary issue alone. That has always been the pattern as long as I can remember, since 1999.

How do you reason self? Was ASUU holding a gun and pointing it at FG during that 2009 negotiation that made FG agreed to their demands? Did ASUU forced them to sign it? Now back to this administration, they renegotiated with ASUU on some of that 2009 agreements and yet the agreed money they fixed to be giving ASUU they never come through with it. But the foolish FG has money to buy exotic cars for the Nigeriens, there’s money to gift other countries, there’s money to pay bogus salaries and allowances to our sleeping senators and incompetent ministers. What’s the educational budget of Nigeria compared to the others in our yearly budget list?

These action by FG will both be felt by the lecturers and students and it has started in Unijos already were it ASUU members has stopped taking classes until they get paid atleast 50% of their eight month salary as agreed before the strike was suspended

All the allegations of spendings u quoted are part of governance and conditions of service. Nobody ask or force anybody to be a Lecturer, let those crying contest for ordinary LG Chairman seat and see if it's given on a platter of gold. Have u even seen the benefit of Professor after and prior to retirement? The 45yrs in service receiving unstoppable salary? Wether is enought or not, they're not different from the same people they accused, they forced govt for all those benefits and allowed other Lecturers to suffer.
NIC verdict forced Lecturers to go back to class, there was no any agreement reached. That very week Ngige made it clear that they didn't reach any agreement with striking Leturers. It is Osodoke who play with the strike pleading Speaker on behalf of Lecturers to get the backlog salaries paid to ameliorate the shame he brought on them.

It all comes to salary issue alone you said? Your ignorance is not even surprising cause most Nigerians choose to be ignorance to those things that doesn't benefit them directly.

And let's even agree that it only has to do with salaries alone don't they deserve it? People who have never entered a classroom as an educator will be talking rubbish about how lecturers are greedy wanting an increase in salaries and whatnot. Lecturers who will stand in front of students for at least an hour a day, mark and grade hundreds of scripts, supervise both postgraduate and undergraduate thesis, be a special adviser or hold a faculty or departmental position. That doesn't even include the stress of furthering their own education or writing papers which are a requirement for their promotion. Yet you say them asking for an increase in salaries or allowances for the extra work they do is greedy, while you forget the fact that your leaders are given millions of naira as an allowance for just sitting in a meeting in a room with AC even without saying a single word throughout the duration of the said meeting. This doesn't even include the other allowances they receive year.
After this unfair and ignorant stand we still wonder why Nigeria is the way it is. Where you criticize people for daring to fight for their rights and the overall betterment of the educational sector.
You support the same government officials whose children don't even school here in Nigeria. You all want lecturers to go to work and teach other people's children with a smile on their faces while their own children stay at home because they are unable to pay the children's fees.
Lecturers should become slaves who despite overworking themselves have little to show for their hard work. "What do they need increase in salaries for? Those greedy lots". "They don't even pity Nigerian students". Such ignorant statements people keep uttering as the lecturers own children too aren't Nigerian students too. Someone even go further to say the lecturers children are school abroad that why.
What an oppressive government with ignorant citizens.

Beyond whose brain capacity. Your useless daddy and his senators are smiling to the bank every month for doing next to nothing, yet, you're happy defending and happily holding all their cocks in your mouth and deriding ASUU for trying to solve the matter peacefully.

I don't blame you Sha, I blame the cockroach infested groundnuts your paymasters throw at your cage.

I guess you are right. Same with his brother the CBN crook. They are up to something really evil but Buhari is too dumb to realize that. They are determined to make sure APC loose the election at all cost. One is using ASUU the other one will make sure naira gets to #1500/$ before the election. Watch out!
Your foolishness must be 'follow come'!

Just imagine how y'all are shifting blames instead of blaming Buhari for his incompetence. This is how you'll still go and elect another misfit in 2023 only to start shifting blames when he fails. What's even wrong with all of you sef

And you might even be among the so called 'educated' Nigerians. Chai

All tuition and living expenses paid for by dearest daddy, so I don't live in the slums. Heck, I never even had to work though I did to keep myself a little bit busy.
