asanausana91: Sorry to say but you lack common sense. I spent most of my life in Nigeria and this is the first time Lagos Ibadan is now a road to dread travelling. Some years back I use to commute lagos -Ibadan every weekend for over 1 year and no one ever taught of kidnapping as something to be bothered about. How did the country get to this point under buhari where we hold our hearts when people use interstate roads even in the west? |

asanausana91: Oga, point your reference of where kidnapping started in the southwest? I grew up in Lagos and had projects taking me across the southwest almost every weekend. I had never for once heard of people being kidnapped even at night. It was only occasional robberies and accidents due to the state of the road. |

You cannot skimp on investments required to run a modern state by relying on the people's sense of order and fair play informed by their moral upbringing. This is what the Nigeria state is addicted to doing although Nigeria has outgrown the moral capacities of its ethnic parts. The days of neglecting certain aspects of society to self govern and relying on this being done peacefully due to the peoples benign nature is gone forever unlikely to return. Every aspect of a modern state now has to be managed. We admire the west and love the apparent order. Well, a clean ordered Wearhouse is possibly not achieved for the sake of ascetics or managing inventory better but simply to control rats and the former being coincidental benefits. I once applied for a role in the uk - cant recall the name - and discovered during the process that the majority of British highways are monitored. The government of Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo state should collaborate to urgently take up the security of that busy highway. Police Helicopter and land patrol should also be deployed so that they can apprehend those bastards and keep the highway safe. 1 Like |
