Perfect list for a friendly match. The midfield is great. Out of the 23 only 18 might play so no complain. Paserio is a no nonsense coach. Only inform and tested players will be invited. Etebo was the star man in our last qualifiers. He is going no where. Alhassan is average. Onyedika still finding his feet. We are good to go. Happy Ebeuhi is back. I was expecting either Success or Okereke to make the list. No wahala, we good.
The battle for the 2nd striking position is between Awoniyi, Iheanacho and Onachu. Oshimen and Moffi are safe.
I was honestly surprised Musa and Shehu were dropped. I totally agree with you that the list is a fair one. Now to Onyedika and Alhassan, it's not premature for them to get an invite in my opinion, however, JP has decided to with experience which isn't a bad thing. Coaches are human and in most climes there are always some debatable selections, case in point, Benjamin Mendy at the last WC, Southgate dropping Tomori, Smalling, Tite dropping Firmino

Jose making too much sense but at the same time it serves Tammy and others right. These foreign players don’t evaluate and weigh their options well when choosing the country to rep in international football.

Imagine maguire displacing tomori who hv been a steady figure in the serie A for giants AC Milan

Another that’s is annoying is Philips picked ahead of Southampton’s skipper prowse

If Aribo isn’t a midfielder, what is hehuh
a goal keeper

Because he is versatile makes many here insinuate that he isn’t worth been mentioned as a midfield option in the super eagles just to make room for their over hyped favorites cheesy

Only aribo’s versatility is a huge asset to any team he plays for. He can be play as a lb/wb,dm,cm,am and rw. Players with such gift are highly valued in today’s football because they can as well be called up to fit into positions where the team is losing a regular in those position due to injury or suspension

Personally I will start both moffi and Osimehn and remove one of those ineffective wingers

The same agents will rather they should call a division 2 jibola ahead of a premier league Aribo.

even that post shock me. Mourinho and zlatan are controversial people which means that all those indian and African Facebook pages can just make some weird posts knowing people will eat it up like shawarma and besides even with the availability of free internet browsing people are really lazy to verify information.

Let me go call Konate quickly grin
Konate is a beast. He did well against my boy but he won't get so lucky next time.

The Monster Machine has dealt with Strong CB names like Smalling, Demiral and Konate's Oga, Virgil Van Dijk this season already. Daley Blind and Joe Gomez also fell under the Osimhen Sword.... and more will follow.

So till we meet again.... cool

The fact Senegal isn't special doesn't make us better than them.

We fumbled at the Afcon but they went on to be African Champions and also qualified for the WC.

So dear Fabyom, we also aren't special and we won't be until we get things right in terms of the right playing personnel that will lift the tactical game of the Super Eagles.

I look at the midfielders invited and I only see one creative-minded midfield player, one direct playing lad masquerading as MF, and 3 Defensive minded midfielders. Not a balanced one.

And of these 5, only one is comfortable with the ball at his feet anywhere in the middle. The direct playing one has very limited passing range and only truly good near the box uptop or outwide and 2 of the other 3 are poor in the ball playing aspect. The other... Good ball holder and dribbler but little or no creativity.

Open your eyes. Our midfield problem persists.

fabyom:
Senegal doesn't have a good team. All these na sugar coating. They barely score from open play. With Mane injured they will score no single goal at the world cup. Mark this post.

Aribo is a LW or SS not a midfielder..

Attackers like Moffi and Osimhen need players like Iwobi and Nwakali and Peter Olayinka around them... those are players that play through pass often... you can't have pacy strikers then put players that don't play through pass in midfield..

Yep, you got that right.

And it is sad because all 4 players together address the bulk of our middle game deficiencies from tactical and technical viewpoints analytically.

Yet only one was invited. We are in for a long thing. We would always stay limited in the middle because we play with a limited personnel. That's terrible.

Peseiro have got to really watch these lads and assess the best tactically balanced we need to uplift our middle game dynamics.

Handing out calls to Bruno and Osayi now is no surprise to me as I have since mentioned them as options we could look at in both fullback positions. Given them mentions for months. So it's just routine and logical to call them up now.

The Midfield is our major problem and until we fix that, we would keep being nearly men and our attack would keep being starved when it matters.

For how long must Peseiro wait to fix something so obvious?

Anyway, looking forward to the Portugal game.

As usual, I would be hoping for a good game for our boys.

AndSunGorilla:
I am sure the other top 3 midfield performers you were referring to are Onyedika, Alhassan and Nwakali. The coach had the opportunity of watching Onyedika over 2 games and for now has made his decision which we are of course are at liberty to question. I would think one of Alhassan and Nwakali could have been invited but Peseiro has worked with Aribo, Onyeka and Etebo and he obviously trusts them with this invitation. The generals should keep churning out good performances, surely at this rate, their time will come.

Francis Uzoho kept a cleansheet today as his side, Omonia Nicosia beat Olympiakos Nicosia 4-0.

It was his 2nd cleansheet of the season.

Point of correction Goat, Aribo can play LW and support striker it doesn’t mean that, that’s his primary position. Aribo primarily is a Box to Box Midfielder but due to his skills and penchant for scoring goals, sometimes he is played at LW or SS. You you have been following Aribo since his charlton days, I don’t think you will make such an uneducated statement. Oloriburuku Omo ale
