forgiveness:
Troost is not fit.

I disagree. He's been the better CB. Akpoguma has been terrible.

Aribo and Simon out. Chukweze and Etebo in. We need double DM in the middle. Portugal defense is porous press them.

Troost and Simon not good enough for this level.

For this game, remove Simon, put Chuks or Dennis in and move Lookman to the left.

Instructions should be route 1 Iwobi with Aribo and Moffi making runs in behind.

Portugal looking surprisingly vulnerable, we are just too fearful. Instructions should be to press high and hold the ball.

Long term we need two good centerbacks, both Troost and Akpoguma are not good enough. Simon should not be starting big games for the Eagles. Seems he is only good against non-technical African teams like Sudan, Sao Tome and Guinea-Bissau.

I disagree sir. Aribo is most likely playing to the coach's instruction. JP probably told them to play a 4-4-2 and not a 4-3-3.
You know ball bro, this set up is 4-4-2 that's why we're always short one in midfield, notice how the Portuguese player rotate and drop in the hole without been marked, that's why that player had all the time to make that long ball in the buildup to the first goal

Rohr is a Zidane-Mourinho hybrid compared to Peseiro. How can you be losing in a friendly game with nothing to lose and still playing a defensive game?

Come out and press them you eediots!

Super Eagles First Half Stats:

Iwobi is the only midfielder who has created a chance in this game. The one he sent into Aribo's path after Aribo's bursting run and 1-2 with Iwobi.

Ndidi has not registered even a pass into the final third.

Aribo has registered just one pass into the final third and ZERO CHANCES CREATED.

Of the 3 midfielders, Iwobi has made the most passes (20).
Aribo has 12 and Ndidi, 12.

Aribo and Iwobi have both taken turns to high press the Portuguese backline alongside Moffi. That is one point to note as we are obviously playing with a front two and defending with a back 5.

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Best Midfield 3 you all wanted to field.

It is well.

Aribo is useful for second balls and making those small runs in dangerous areas. Simon is the real mega culprit.

Post Pinnick SE is going as I expected

Make we hear word abeg. How would Pinnick's administration had turn this game around?

Wasn't he in charge when Cape Verde and other lower teams disgraced us? Wasn't he in charge when we played nonsense at AFCON and lost the World Cup spot?

Wasn't he the one that appointed this coach? Tell me, what's the difference between Pinnick's SE and the one we have now?

You for handle am the 3rd term ticket na. grin

I know this is the time most of you are waiting for to say "I told you so." undecided

troost and Kevin hv been ok. The major problem is the midfield, it lacks steel and press which is the reason I suggested that Onyeka should be subbed in for aribo

Also the two flanks most especially lookman’s end wasn’t properly used in the first half

yes but he lacks energy needed to close down Fernandez and Silva giving them too much room to operate

These stats are not necessarily bad, especially considering the roles of each player in the game.

Aribo is not the one making those passes because he is the one at the end of the passes.

Ndidi is a destroyer.

The problem with this game is not the midfield. It is that we are not pressing high or making enough runs, Simon is killing every good opportunity on his wing, and our defensive line is not straight enough. Fix those and we will give them a game.

Nooooooo... please. Don't complain. When we saw one who came at the Afcon and turned our corner kicks to dangerous chance creating situations, they played it down. They said it was nothing.

So how dare you mention we aren't using our corners in this game.

See ehn... Una never see anything.

When truth is presented to Nigerians, they loathe it.

Nwakali doesn't get all the credit for that. Semi Ajayi made us a bigger threat on set pieces, just his size caused headaches. He is also a part of that puzzle.

Now I see why some referred to Aribo as a forward. He has not contributed anything so far in this game. I won't mind Onyeka or Etebo in his place.

Akpoguma should come off for Awaziem of he is not ready to play... Ekong sef get network today.

I think Portugal's defence are not that strong..our problem is getting the ball to the final third.

Bright has been bright so far.. but I'm just not happy his attacking prowess has not been exploited so far.

Simon has been good so far whereas Lookman has been quiet. I won't blame him though..he didn't see much of the ball.

And can they just come out and press for God's sake... Chai

Bro forget ,who to remove ,who to bring in

Anybody placed on dt pitch won’t make any difference,so forget.the mystery about dis team I will keep hammering on is y can’t trained professionals do little basics of football, dis is over 7years of playing together and Dey can’t still string passes, coordinate game from d back to middle and to d strikers(simple transition)...den what exactly do Dey practice in training? In fact dis simple stuff doesn’t even need training, ordinary street football competition dt guys don’t train ,play simple passes btw each oda ,but our own so called world class professionals can’t do simple basics.it shldnt be dt bad

Akpos was partly responsible for the first goal. Bruno was his man to mark and he lost him. He also did a terrible job blocking the ball.

I agree with the midfield being a major problem, it's also largely responsible for Lookman rarely getting the ball.
