Yes, go ahead and submit your visa app. When the payment is done and school sends a recey, you can send to Ircc via webform. Please note on your sop you have commence payment and you will be uploaded the evidence in the course of your visa application processing.

Your account is okay but who is your sponsor?
If your sponsor are either of your parents, you can upload those property docs but the sponsor isn't, please don't cos you are not the owner.

Yes you can add your business CAC but not the tax clearance and no it's not a red flag.

my Sponsor is my Elder Brother and we bear the same surname

I applied for Study Permit for myself (Principal Applicant), Open Work Permit for my spouse, Visitor Visa for my 3-year old kid, and Study Permit for my kid who would turn 5 in November 2022.

Upfront Medical for all family members (IOM, Ikeja Lagos): 19 July 2022
The following additional tests were conducted because spouse has a history of TB.
• Sputum Production for Principal Applicant
• Chest X-Ray for the older kids (because she was presumed to have had contact with my spouse while she was treating TB.
• Sputum Production for Spouse
• Additional X-ray for Spouse.
• Medical Examination on Spouse by a TB Specialist recommended by IOM (we paid a consultation fee).

Application Date: 6 October 2022.
Biometric: 14 October 2022.
Medical Report updated for the 3-year old kid on 4 November 2022.
Medical Report updated for Principal Applicant, Spouse and the older kid: 18 November 2022.
BVL and PPR for all 4 Applicants: 18 November 2022.

DOCUMENTS UPLOADED (other than IMM forms)
For the various sections where we are required to upload documents on the IRCC portal (e.g. LOA, Marriage License), I started with an Introduction, followed by Table of Contents.
The Table of Contents have hyperlinks to the respective documents attached. I also included hyperlinks to take the VO from the attached documents back to the Table of Contents.

Please note, some of the documents I attached are unnecessary e.g. COVID-19 vaccination card.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE
• Letter of Acceptance.
• IELTS result.
• Academic and Professional certificates.
• Academic Transcript.
• WES evaluation report.
• NYSC certificate.
• Evidence of Previous investments which had been liquidated (Education Plan for me and the kids, Shares that have been sold, Monthly Savings Plan with an Insurance Company, Investments with some Investment Firms). I stated that the proceeds were invested in other ventures and form a bedrock of funds being used for my studies in Canada.

PASSPORT
• Bio-data page of International Passport
• Affidavit (in lieu of birth certificate)
• Drivers' license.
• NIN slip.
• Updated CV (Nigerian style).
• Staff ID Card.
• Letter of Introduction from my employer.
• Study leave approval from my employer.
• Introduction letter from my local Church.
• Letter of Ordination from my Church.

MARRIAGE LICENSE/CERTIFICATE
• Marriage Certificates (Church and Court).
• Name change publication for spouse.
• Birth certificates for the kids.
• Over 50 pictures (during courtship, during wedding, during the christening of our kids, pictures with spouse at a volunteering event, family photographs). I cropped the pictures and put an average of 3 pictures on each page. Also, I sequenced the pictures such that they tell our family story from inception.

CLIENT INFORMATION
Here, I included a background that the property owned by my spouse would be included under her application for OWP. Then, included a Table of contents and attached the following documents, which could not be added in other sections due to file size constraint.
• Land Documents (Receipts, Sales Contract, Deed of Assignment, Survey, Advert showing an increase in the price of the land)
• Documents for 2 cars.
• Mum's International passport. (I showed her visa page and some travel stamps, since me I no get travel history).
• Affidavit/Birth certificates for some of my siblings.
• CSCS Statements for Stock/shares inherited from my late dad who died over 20 years ago. (The shares are still in my dad’s name. I explained that my family intends to obtain a Letter of Administration and these shares will be captured therein).
• My picture with my CEO and an EXCO member at an official outing.
• Training Certificates.

PROOF OF MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
• SOP (9 pages). I tried to reduce it but my story long.
• Documents relating to the Payment of 50% initial deposit ($17,900 CAD).
• Documents relating to my current employment (employment letter, confirmation, promotion and 4 months’ Pay slips).
• Evidence of Available/Dedicated Fund:

I provided Explanatory Notes on 3 bank accounts.
1. My salary account (where I deposited our naira POF)
2. My USD account (where we deposited our dollar POF)
3. My spouse’s salary account (Here, I just stated that this is her salary account).

Under each of the account, I explained salient points such as lump sums that I wanted to VO to be aware of and included relevant support documents e.g. bonus letter from my employer.
For my naira account and my wife’s salary account, I provided bank statements for exactly 4 months but for the USD account, I provided statement for 1 year because it was just a 2-page document and I wanted to convince the VO that the account was legit even though I had only a few transactions on it.

Asides these, I included an addendum account which belongs to my spouse.
We created and liquidated several Fixed Deposit investments in that account and sizable part of our POF came from this addendum account.
Asides the bank Reference letter, I also included the account statement because I felt it would better convince the VO. The account had a rather unusually high transaction volume in 4 months and a balance of just N500k.
I carefully explained the meaning of some terminologies used on the account statement too e.g. FD booking.

• Letter of Introduction from my Pension Fund Administrator.
• Investment Certificate and account statement from an investment company for an existing investment (the letter clearly states that my wife and I have an unrestricted access to the funds).
• Deed of Partition and evidence of rental income on the property inherited from my late date

I included several hyperlinks on my SOP, my wife’s SOP and the cover letters for the kids. For instance, where I mentioned key words such as “Institute of Chartered Accountants”, Pension Reforms Act, 2014 etc., I ensured that they were modified to be hyperlinks, which would take the VO to the respective websites. I did this so it is easy for the VO for confirm the various terminologies/claims/entities independently.

My spouse and I have no travel history. Therefore, I stated in my SOP that we have been saving consciously towards my studies overseas, so we denied ourselves several luxuries such as travelling on vacations.

Just to mention, asides the funds that were available in bank and investment accounts, I stated that I would be saving specific amount towards my masters program from my subsequent salaries and 13th month allowance.
And that in the period, my family will depend on my wife’s salary and the balance from my own salary (I had previously established the fact that my wife and I save and invest together. Moreover, all my salary and allowances go straight into her account based on my bank statement history).

Hello everyone. New follower of this thread.

I'm just about to start this Canada study process and i really want to get it right from the start, so i need honest and expert advise please.

I would like to apply with my family, that is my husband and 1 child (2years old). I am a graduate of Economics ( BSc. 2012), Chartered Accountant (ACA 2018), and i've been working as a professional Accountant since 2015. I am intending to apply for a post graduate certificate course (1 year) in Business Administration (I chose this 1 year course majorly because i can only have funds to cover our 1 yr living expense and my tuition balance + flight costs). Is this a good decision especially since i'll be applying as a family? Or can i go for a 2 yr program and just provide explanation on how i intend to come up with the second year tuition and living expense?

Also, someone told me it isn't advisable for someone applying for their family to go for a 1 yr program. How true is this?

Kindly advise.

The programme duration will be determined by the course you are going for and the total POF you have, though IRCC says you have to show a minimum of one year living expenses, some of their action does support this. Going for a 1 year programme means you show a lower amount of POF, applying with you family will require you to present a strong SOP to explain why the whole family is travelling.

Seneca college is a good school and I believe they refund tuition fees. You can either visit the school in person, call or check their refund policy.

You can sponsor your sis without actually showing your immigration status even though it's on record you are in Canada.

I will also recommend, you don't mention the agriculturist part but let her present employment status shoe she's into logistics and maybe manager of the logistics department.

My 2kobo
Thank you anon. I will call seneca then to inquire.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 6:57pm On Nov 21, 2022
Yes, applying with your family for a 1-year program isn't advisable. Although families have received approvals with a year, I don’t recommend it due to your financial capacity. The VO might be thinking, why would you spend all your life saving to bring your family to Canada for a one-year program and then return?

Regarding your second option, explaining how you will come up with the 2-yr fee will not fly. I believe you are better off applying alone; they can join you when you come to Canada.

I assume you are familiar with the documents required from a sponsor since you are on a study permit. So, as a student, you can sponsor her if you have a source of income and were not sponsored. Likewise, you are good if you have graduated and are now on a maintained status for PGWP, evidenced by the work authorization letter issued by IRCC.

Paying her tuition is an even more convincing way of supporting her.

Please check the refund policy of Seneca College.

I am currently rounding up my masters program at mcgill and my family already joined me. Is it adviseable i sponsor her by using my account statement or i just pay her 1st term tuition? She is an agriculturist but have worked in a logistics and shipping company for 3years and is the manager of a branch. The school is requesting for 8k cad for her to reserve her seat and it will lapse on december 9th.
Also do they refund in case of visa denial becos she already mailed them but no response.

Timeline and Events
New Portal
First-time applicant
Applied by myself. Learnt all from Google, Youtube, and Nairaland

July 4: Upfront medicals
July 8: Application on New Portal
July 8: Biometrics Request
July 13: Gave biometrics and received on portal
** Somewhere in between I’d uploaded my medical sheet from IOM via webform. Can’t remember when.
August 4 (2AM): Sent mail to Lagos, Nairobi, London and attached my medical sheet.
August 4 (Around 1pm): Biometrics and Medicals updated to pass.
** Long wait, ordered notes, CBSA and GCMS, nothing tangible.
October 11: Sent mail to MP
October 13: MP got back literally saying the same thing on portal.
** Around this period, started firing several versions of mails and webforms.
Nov 16: MP reached out to them again – Preassessment done, eligibility not started.
Nov 17 (Around midnight): Sent mails to Beijing, London, Lagos, Abuja, Nairobi.
Nov 17 (Around 12pm): Eligibility review started on portal
Nov 17 (Around 9pm): BVL and PPR

Little story, for POF which is usually a concern, I had like 5.5M in my account, $2k USD in dorm account. 5M was gift deed from my Dad, he had 25M in fixed deposit since July 2021. As at the time I applied, the money was fixed. There were several opinions about this, but I kept it that way even though I was scared sh*tless. The closing balance of that account was 77k in fact.

Around November 9 ish, I sent updated statement showing liquidated funds and my Dad transferred the balance of like 8M to me since I’d enrolled in courses. My savings in Naira and USD had grown, I also got salary raise at work so I packaged all these and sent severally via webforms – both old and new. Oh yeah, I’ve ordered like 3 notes and I still have 4 pending lol.

I’m adding all of these because I’m not sure what did the trick. It’s pretty much a combination of all.

House please I need help.

Dear Gurus, ema wo mi niran.

I applied for Canadian Student Visa in April 2021.

I used an agent and got PFL because he recalled the fees twice.

So I paid the money myself in December.

Since then I have not heard from IRCC. I have submitted web form too.

Anyway, I am moving on with the UK. I don pay deposit sef. My CAS will be out on Thursday.

I am planning on withdrawing my Canada application.

Would you suggest I do that or I leave it running?

Also, when they ask me if I have ever had a visa rejected before, what will I say?

Keep in mind that UK and Canada share immigration information.

Also, how do I withdraw and application? Who can point me in the right direction? My pof will mature the first week in december.

Hi guys and gals,
I just ordered for GCMS Notes from the CBSA.
I submitted my application on August 3, 2022 and eligibility review started since October 18, 2022. Since then, no updates aside ghost messages.
How long does CBSA take? I learnt here that it's faster than GCMS.
Thank you.

Regards to all.

@Jaykeh,

You will need to upload the medical sheet they gave u same day you had your exam through a webform. The facility ( IOM/Qlife) will also forward their own (content of the exam) to IRCC for review/assessment after which it will eventually reflect on you profile.

I hope this helps.

Jaykeh:
Please with regards to upfront medicals, I did mine few days ago and I'm a bit confused, the sheet to upload is it the one the medical personnels told me it would take two to five days to upload and they will also send a copy to my email or is it the sheet that was given to me after the medicals registration before I proceeded to carry out the medical assessment?

@gideon19,

You can Google DLIs ......designated Learning Institutes in Canada (you can also mention the province of your choice).

All DLIs are authentic.

I hope this helps

Hi all, pls is there a place to confirm the authenticity of a school one is trying to apply to?

e.g. royalroads university.

@Jaykeh,

Usually they acknowledge receipt of documents sent through the webform for the first time you upload documents after submission BUT do not acknowledge receipt of subsequent webform.

I hope this helps.

Jaykeh:
Please if you send anything through webform, say new letter of admission or update financial documents, will it reflect on your portal for you to know they have seen it?

The processing time for Canadian study permit is not for the faint hearted or for someone who is working tightly with time as it can take a toll on the individual's mental health.

Your application is over a year and i am surprised you did not order your GCMS notes or have you done that already? that would let you know if your application is still being processed or not instead of drawing conclusion if you know what i mean.

Asking for previous visa rejections usually is an information you provide at the point or application and not after application (it is important).
Again your application is roughly 19 months (76 weeks) as against the 12/13 weeks processing time on IRCCC and its almost/nearly impossible that it is still being processed, however, as i mentioned above you should order your notes to be certain.

The withdrawal of your application option is available once you login to your portal, its a one click option and the application withdrawal notification email will be sent to you once it is processed successfully.
