No sense made… they have not mismanaged their resources like Naija.. Saudi Aramco national oil co market cap is close to $2tn while Naija NNPC is too broke and unable to fix its refineries in the last 25years

Yes, because the government has more money to spend on Saudi Aramaco. 10 million barrels on 40 million people equals a lot of money.

Nigeria does not have that income...which is why we should become an industrial nation, that actively exports. Because relying on oil alone is why we are broke ass poor.

and take the same 40million Saudi resident and put them in Nigeria and see them transform it in years

They won't.

Saudi is an oil rich country that has a small enough population and a lot of money that they swim in.

Expats make the country work. Take them away from their expats , and they won't know what to do.

Saudi: 40 million people...living on revenue from 10 million barrels of crude per day.

Nigeria: 220 million people living on revenue from 1.1 million barrels of crude per day...

Any questions.?
Even if the reverse is the case Nigerians would still be wallowing in poverty.....The corruption and wickedness in the land is too much.

Abacha loot is estimated to be about 4 billion dollars. That's a lot, but country wise, not enough.

Also, a lot of Saudis are poor. And yes, corruption happens there too.

Finally, a family of two with a salary of 2 million naira per month, will live better than a family of ten with a montly income of 500000.

Even then, living on oil revenue, is a sure way of getting underdeveloped. Developed countries make and export the things they make. Nigeria needs to aim for that. Saudi is not a good example for us.

So what's the excuse?
Ghana is even 30 million people, has crude oil, gold, bauxite, recently iron ore.
Yet they're on borrowing spree, currency worst in the whole world, running to imf here there.
What also stops them from being developed like Saudi Arabia?

Elsewhere; PRD is 10/1

1.Simple...they rely on selling crude oil, and company like Nigeria.

All those things have one thing in common...the price fluctuates at the international market...meaning they cannot earn a profit to satisfy themselves./enough revenue

So, loans.

Every African country has that issue....except Botswana...leading me to point 2.

2. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Botswana have

Small population

A large enough revenue that can sustain that population.

For Saudi...their 40 million people can be sustained by 10m barrels of crude. If it was at 500000 barrels of crude a day, they would be as broke as Nigeria.

That is why industrialization...where you make and export goods whose prices YOU set, is the best. China, Japan and South Korea , which were once as poor and broke as most African nations, learned that fast.

We have oil, just that we do not produce enough to earn enough revenue for 200 million people.

If we wanted to be like Saudi...we need to find a way to reduce the population of Nigeria to 1.2 million people in a year, and then hopefully we would be rich (see Qatar).

But ultimately, we need to become an industrial nation that exports. That is what we should be doing (of all the candidates, only Obi comes close with a production message).

Neither is wealth circulating in Saudi (there are poor people there, a lot of poor people there).

Also, my comment does not excuse bad government in Nigeria, nor does it praise Saudi as a great nation , it is just an explanation as to why their government can find money to buy Rolls Royce phantoms for the football team.

At the end, good countries are those that produce goods and services that the world needs, not those that rely on one source of income (ie oil) whose prices fluctuates. Which at the end is what Nigeria and Saudi should be aiming for.
How did they get to 10 million per barrel a day, did they not develop it.
Even Angola is ahead of Nigeria is crude oil production with small population yet no fuel scarcity.
Nigeria is just irrelevant excuses.

have u ever thought of why we aren't producing as much as we can? Take away corruption from Nigeria and put people who can make use of the available resources efficiently and see Nigeria grow close to countries like saudi

Oga, we are not producing enough oil to earn revenue for 200 million people.

Also, I resent you thinking that I am excusing corruption and bad leadership.

Again, even if we produced 10 million barrels per day tomorrow, it still won't be enough.

We need to get our economy diversified.

Hope you get? Our leaders are bad because they do not diversify our economy at all.

There is never money in Nigeria when they need to do good deeds. Yet you hear of N80billion being embezzled by Accountant General of the Federation. N80b will buy 340 Rolls Royce. They know what they are doing that's why they rely on people like you to make excuses for them.

NNPC is not remitting to the Federation account. And you think that population is the problem. If they provide infrastructures and enabling environment, the purchasing power of 200 million Nigerians can sustain the economy to a good point.

Again, you are missing my point.

First, I am not denying that corruption has a part to play in why we are messed up. You are making the mistake of thinking that I am denying it.

Second, even if there was no corruption, we are not earning enough revenue from oil...which is aggravated by the fact that prices fluctuate re oil. That is why...we must diversify our economy.

Ultimately, Saudi will collapse if oil was rendered redundant tomorrow. They too need the same message.

So, ultimately...we need to diversify.

(I am not excusing bad govenrment, I am showing you why our government is bad).
