Firstly, do not download the message from the unknown. It is very dangerous and once that is done your phone can be spy on. As regards your location changing it you can fix on the Google play store settings, however there's nothing to worry about as regards that cos location you're seeing on Google search is just approximate location not your GPS location, there's an app that uses location on your phone like a loan app or dating app, check your location through the app, it will show your GPS location or tell you, your location cannot be determined. 25 Apps running underground? U can reset your phone and carefully select the files you want to back up.
