Wow.

Quite funny how the traffic on this group has drastically reduced.

My prayer is that we all shall be alive to discuss Qatar 2022, right on this platform, by God's grace

what could have caused the disconnect we usually see from players when they are on national team assignments with partey and ndidi as case points. They clearly do not play on the same level as they play in the EPL. Can it be because of coaching? Fellow players not up to the club's standard or other factors because partey has been immense for arsenal and I haven't seen any one complain of his pace in the EPL.
I think the players you play with matters. Partey plays Samad role at Arsenal with Xhaka in advanced role. He has a lot of runners and good ball holders around him who don't usually lose the ball in dangerous areas, even if they do, they recover as a unit so he doesn't really stress recovering balls.
He intercepts, moves, pass and shoots.

I think it’s more of fellow national teammates not being up to par. You can’t compare the quality of Partey’s or Iwobi’s midfield partners in Ghana and Nigeria respectively, to that of Arsenal or Everton.

In their respective clubs, they are partnered with good or very good players, while their national teammates are either average or below average.

I mean, the general lack of movement by Ghanaian forwards (expecting Kudus to dribble all the defenders) is evidence of their lower soccer IQ

Good morning folks.

Yesterday's result did not leave me the same. For the first time I went to bed and slept like a baby despite the loss that saw us crash out.

I don't know yet but e be like se the football part of me left. I don't know what to attribute this to. Either to the loss or officiating.
But I'm sure I'm no longer the same guy!

The Super Eagles still remain Nigeria's team - the result won't change that. I'll always support them. But not as fanatical as I used to be.

Thank goodness I stopped been club football fanatics after my club Chelsea won the championship league. I now watch them when I like, no longer feel the pain when they loose and no longer care about who and who are been signed by the coach and board.

I don't know if I'll do the same for our national teams. But yesterday, the football I knew and grew up to love die. I'll mourn it death and move on.

It's been a pleasure discussing this beautiful game with you guys.

After their coach was hiding formation like snake in the monkey shadow ... The reality hit this chief big time

I meant the 1st goal was on Jordan but you are right, the same Jordan was the architect of their only win and the name from their dad Abedi (Pele) Ayew, to their uncle (Kwame Ayew) have helped Ghana immensely over the years.
Agreed! What a Legacy! Still hate Abedi though for the 1992 AFCON semi finals heart break. Lol!

Expectations cut short. Unsurprising how I'm going to feel so disinterested in the remaining fixtures. We go again in 4 years time.

Thank you Ighalo
Thank you Iheanacho.

The two of you can now marry each other and embark on a journey of no return. cry

If only we told him that 4 years would be more failures for his poor heart

We keep carrying 5 useless players to every World Cup. It's looking more like destiny than mistake. Lol

Only thing that annoyed me this world cup was being denied a chance to relive their pains once more. Very creative people when pained

And of course, Mitrovic and Vlahovic score when they start together for the first time in this tournament.

If something isn't broken, don't try to fix it.

I don't think Aboubacar is a 90 mins player again. But then again the Swiss are leading so a win is just for bragging rights if it happens.

It's high time we stop building Super Eagles around the Rookies. Let's forget Eagles painful Exit at the World Cup. AFCON Qualifiers should be a Priority on this Thread now.

I will never advice or support the Closure of this Thread, nor will I call for the Sack of Gernot Rohr, rather gonna hope a competent Assistant is appointed to replace Salisu Yusuf.

More so, I hope Rohr has learned one or two things from this World Cup Experience. I kept imagine what possibly a Combo of Musa and Martins would have produced in a 3 - 5 - 2 Formation?? We can't completely rid off the Team of all our experienced Players who are still balling for their respective Clubs.

We still need Mikel in the Team, so is Martins - cos he's still balling and deadly with Pace as well as in the Box. It's apparent Ahmed Musa excels as a Striker - in 2-Man Attack. I hope Rohr believes in him, and never play him on the Wing again.

Also, Iwobi should be given the No. 10 Role for the Team. I am high confident he's the missing Jigsaw to complete the Puzzle. Etebo ain't suitable for Midfield Role cos he's technically deficient, whereas power and pace ain't much needed in the Midfield but on the Wing.

Mikel played well as a DM/CM, hope Rohr forms a Pivot of him and Ndidi during the AFCON Qualifiers and builds on it. Ogu, Onazi should be replaced with Nwakali Brothers, while Ajagun comes in to replace Joel Obi in the Midfield.

Rohr should fully work on building a formidable Midfield for the Team - indomitable, very technical, decisive, creative Midfield for the Team. Matches are won from Midfield during this Era - Lose the Midfield and lose the Game.

Modified: I will not respond to your Quote(s), except you present Stats and Facts to critique the Post. Enough of being lazy on this Thread. If you have a contrary view, feel free to drop it but in a convincing Manner.

Respect for the Lion Kings from Africa. They have fought hard but unfortunately, the goal from a Lion cub who left Cameroon has proved to be the decider. Unfortunately Vincent becomes the villain, getting a red card for his celebration.
