Nonsense. Is oil and gas still not feeding Nigeria now. Is the government of the day not investing in agriculture heavily more than anyother? If not for insecurity sponsored by the enemies of the government we should have been swimming in abundnce of food production... |

adioolayi:Unfortunately the same Obasanjo, who once tore his Party Membership Card,is still welcoming the past and present governors that have no bearing on the so called party! On what basis you may ask! Ajaokuta cannot and will never get off the ground! The Russians that got the project was written in Russian Language! Is that fair to Nigeria? Why can't we write it in Ijebu-Language too,for the benefits of Nigeria because, you can't do anything except you contact them, those who organised, got the Contract signed had no Nigeria at heart ,at all! Why can't Russians agreed to our Nigerian term? We allowed it because of Corruption! |

festacman:Buhari, playing out the Ahmadu Bello script of ruthlessly keeping the other tribes from self determination, shut down the Ajaokuta plant, cancelled the Lagos Metro ( at the cost of a stiff penalty for breach of contract ) and today he has (in his mind) bastardized NNPC. Eeyah. The global economy respects intellectual property.... The refusal to educate over 90% of the youths in the north will hang round their necks like a millstone. May God help Nigeria. |

joefelin2345:Things just don’t happen without effort. Generalizations hold true because groups are easier to predict than individuals, it’s a scientific phenomenon called group psychology. You are an individual and it is difficult to predict your actions but once you join a group you assume the characteristics of that group and you are easier to predict. People assume the character of a group once they are apart of a group, in this case the group is the group of people called Nigerians. It is for this same reasons that Nigerians excel abroad but fail in Nigeria. A Nigerian will willingly stand in a queue abroad but start to jump the queue right from the airport. So if you look at the past behavior of a group you can predict it’s future. Same thing for countries. Greece for instance has always been an economic basket case. America will always be America, Russia will always be Russia and Nigeria will always be Nigeria. Argue with yourself all you like but Nigeria has enough enough back data as a nation to predict its future. Your post shows exactly why the trajectory of Nigeria will always remain the same. All your arguments are emotional not scientific or data based. We are emotional tribal sentimental people, we never act with intelligence or critical analysis and so we keep making the same mistakes expecting a different result. It is impossible for the current psyche of the Nigerian to produce 1) good leadership 2) goo citizens and by extension 3) a great country. FACT!!!! It is impossible for a man heading south to arrive in the east. No matter how many times he prays, says “God forbid” etc. It’s not rocket science!!!! If the road you are on is heading south, the only place you will end up is south. On this there is no ambiguity. Nigeria is like the story of the alcoholic. The time to solve or prevent his problem whas when he started drinking or developed a taste for alchoholic. That was when he should have cut it down or stopped completely. Now he is totally dependent on it and knows no other way and the only way to solve his problem is a drastic change and even then that only depends on if he has the will power and discipline and lifestyle change to go through the rigors required to correct course. People like you however think that you can cure alcoholism by drinking whisky instead of beer, drinking guiness instead of brandy, going to owambe instead of nightclubs or thinking night vigil will solve your alchoholism problems. It doesn’t work that way. When an alchoholic has reached rock bottom, and is ready to turn his life around, he won’t need to tell you, everything about his life will tell you this is a changed man, this is a man who sincerely wants to change his life….and even then he may not succeed but at least you can see he wants to change. You don’t talk about change and still be parading people like Atiku, Tinubu or Obi bit fighting yourselves over them. We are not serious, alchoholism never leave out body!!!! Atiku, Tinubu, Obi are products of decades of moral and economic mismanagement and decay. They are not the ones that will solve the problem. |

Nigeria needs to focus on agriculture to create jobs for people. Let's vote Peter Obi as president to get Nigeria producing and selling again. |

Oil money is free money and it intoxicates, anyone that gets free money is bound to be lazy and unuseful to themselves. Oil money has done more havoc to Nigeria than good, it has brought about our population explosion and corruption. Until oil and gas finish in Nigeria we may find it tough to eradicate poverty in the land and develop as a country. |

So true. We have relegated what can feed us to a last resort profession practised by frustrated individuals and looked down up by all. Buhari is so busy trying to reshape the oil to favour some people even more. |

legionISproteus:Do ur research there's absolutely no way nigeria can be able to feed it's population of over 200m people with just exporting 1.2m barrels of crude oil daily. Countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia have smaller population but they both export more than nigeria's daily quarter of crude oil. |
