Also, as long as these players keep working on it and growing this way, they will get better and with time start dominating. That is the beauty of the system.
Spain lacks goal scorring strikers and wingers.
Their forwards are almost like midfielders.
I mean their forwards are not even too good in the air.
This limits the creativity of their midfielders.
They need forwards that are strong, fast, good in the air, can score goals and are also skillfull.
If Spain had Osimhen, Giroud and Mbappe in their team they will be unstoppable
As someone said even if they had Sergio Ramos, they could have scored from a set piece.
No, it is not the failure of tiki taka. They just need a different type of forward.
Morata is just an average forward thats all

Lol.

I want to say alot but I'll not. Let me just say they had all the time in the world to acquire players. Same time as the teams that beat them in this tournament. To me, this is a silly excuse for an outdated and hacked system in modern football. If Tiki will continue to look for players, dem go tey. Guess what?? grin

Other styles and countries will be upgrading more effective styles that gives ease and transition and allow fans get entertainment.

TikiTaka in Modern time is a Scalar Quantity-Dave P, 2022.
Lol, national team football is not like club football where you can just buy any player you want and sell any player you don't want. You have to make do with what you have.

I think we have different views on what tiki taka actually is but let's just agree to disagree on this one wink

I’d trade our last decade of our soccer history for what they’ve done right now even though they didn’t advance past the next stage

No matter what happens, when things get really tough and everyone else runs away, your family remains your family.

I love this from the Moroccan team, and I hope this will go a long way to sway other talents born abroad to choose them as they will always be appreciated more at home.

It's quite possible the NFF may have invested more onto football ⚽ than the Moroccan FA.

However, that investment in Nigeria usually ends up in the deep pockets of individuals. That's the difference in addition service to the NFF is seen as a tool for self enrichment.

We have a confirmed geriatric convicted criminal going for the highest office in the Land. With aaacolades from the high and mighty in the Land.
and with all the glaring evidence against them, those set of people would still ignore and choose to drum support either for religion or ethnicity sake and in turn dragging the country down with them to the mud.... Sad reality!

You don't need evidence? So, you rely on only what you think you know. Meaning your have no room to learn.

Ederson is in Manchester City because of his feet first. Same with other top sweeper keepers. You can not play possession football without a keeper that is good with his feet. This is basic knowledge.

No wonder you detest tiki-taka because you are not ready to look to see its phenomenal beauty.
The reason I said I don't need evidence is really just a forceful way of making the point that it is unbelievable that a club will buy a goalkeeper firstly because he's good with his feet. Oya supply the evidence that Ederson was bought with the first consideration being that he's good with his feet.

As for detesting tiki taka, I am uncompromisingly against it because whereas you see beauty I see it as the epitome of machine football.

Despite playing with my feet, I maintain ONE not two things.

And that thing is the NATURAL ROLE

Teams that win ALWAYS have a great keeper who knows how to makes saves first of all

What you posting there does not contradict the point. Buffon is telling you that today, top teams prefer coaches today prefer goalkeepers that are good with their feet. In his opinion, that emphasis is exaggerated.

Buffon is saying, today, coaches prefer players good with their feet.

He is not cotradicting my point.

He is saying that if you look back over the years, great keepers with hands played a big part in the teams success. No one is denying that.

We are not talking of yesteryears. We are talking of today's modern game. Keepers must be first good with the feet. Whether Buffon considers it exaggerated or not, it is a norm today.

The post does not contradict my point.

FINITO.
Buffon himself contradicts your point. Yes you are right in seeing his reference to the fact that coaches these days desire keepers who play with their feet, I think the reason why odunayaw posted that excerpt is to show that Buffon disagrees with the trend.

Yep. Basic park bus. That is why Di Matteo and the likes hardly coach top clubs and lack long history of consistent wins. No top club will take them because the clubs know that these guys do not offer consistency.

Finito.
One of the greatest proponent of park the bus system is Mourinho. I think he even coined the phrase. But he's had stellar career. Another proponent is Diego Simeone. He's been over a decade Athletico Madrid.

I don't like that style oo. Just wanted to rebut your point at the bolded.

In modern warfare you can get better at using Dane guns only to your death because the enemy has superior weaponry. Tiki taka as a system of football has been nullified not once but consistently.

Get better at it, enjoy the misfortunes of Spain since 2014.

The current leader of the English Premier League table is Arsenal, coached by a Barcelona academy graduate and former assistant coach of Guardiola.

Second on the table is Manchester City coached by former Barcelona academy graduate and promoter of the Heavy possession philosophy.

So, how can you say the system is nullified?

That is why Inzaghi who has been using a heavy possession system has been beating Mourinho up and down like if he caught Mourinho stealing garri in the market.

By the way, the current leader of the Championship is Burnley, headed by a former captain of Guardiola and a big fan of the heavy possession system.

Buffon did not nullify anything. Buffon is a footballer, and not a coach. He agrees that the modern day coaches will take a keeper good with his feet before acrobatic hand goalkeepers. Finish.

If he disagrees, it is irrelevant because he is not a modern day coach and is not picking a keeper soon.

I suspect many missed the fact that the Moroccans took away a lot of the pressing power of Spain with tidy build up plays from the back. That was where the Keeper, Bono, stood out for me.

If you listen to the commentary closely, you will hear the commentator complain about how close to their goal the Moroccans kept passing the ball.

That ball plays by the keeper was key yesterday.

Lemme get something straight...If you were a coach in this era, and you wanted to pick a goalkeeper for your team, the first thing you would consider is the goalkeeper's qualities with his feet rather than his hands?
