AndSunGorilla[/quote Ok sir, our products from the academies are 100% private driven and I hope they will last for a good time. In Morocco what I read about was a government sponsored academy, I doubt if we have one academy that would be as equipped as the Mohammed VI academy, 2) their professional clubs Wydad etc have functioning academies. Ours is really disjointed to be honest. When we played against Sao Tome, didn't we all commend the state of the pitch and stated it enabled us play well? Look at their female football, they have definitely developed and are improving. Are we improving, are we developing? Chief Onigbide used to say there's a difference between promoting football and developing football!!. Look at our local league and the standard of play, when last did we make caf club champions league? For a nation of about 200 million people? Yes there are successes here and there but we have capacity for better. My oga, I rest here now |

typicalgamer:No if she was American and not Nigerian. Endorsement look at market influence a sports personality from England has a greater market influence than one from Nigeria. So if you want to target the markets with greater purchasing power and therefore demand. I will most certainly pick a global brand name like Pogba, Ronaldo, Rashford, etc than one in Nigeria and or Africa , it's simple. How many £150 Nike trainers will people buy in Nigeria compared to the UK. |

My Oga you should know that private involvement is the best policy. How many academies United States or British govt get? It is only in Africa we expect govt to be in charge of everything.

|

komekn:But then again,an athlete of high repute won't have his popularity restricted to a particular country... A brand name can be global.. For instance when Nike designed our 2018 jersey, they probably had Nigeria as their main target market in mind, but it eventually became a huge success and sold globally.... I'm sure there aren't many people from Jamaica that can afford to buy £150 Nike trainers, but athletes from those countries get multi million dollars endorsement deals too... |

Marjoribanks:Bro... anything North Africa, I no dey do. That AWCON semi final is still fresh in memory. Ayinde jumped up and on landing, mistakenly stepped on Moroccoan player...ball don continue o..infact person wey Dem step don stand o. Boom! VAR ..Red card. Granted Ajibade's red was deserved. But moment later, their player stepped on Ohale deliberately yet no red. This is just one of the instances. let's not even start with if they see themselves as African. |

AndSunGorilla:Well, if you have watched Netherlands, I don't think you would write off his prediction totally. The strength of the Dutch is in their wingbacks and the 2 forwards. The match is entirely dependent on which Messi would show up cos Argentina is weak in attack. |

JayromWrites:The guy is hilarious... Cameroon had to build and upgrade their stadiums to be fit for AFCON.. If Nigeria should get the hosting rights now, all we would need is some upgrade on the existing stadiums... Abuja, Lagos, Uyo PH(Adoikoye stadium), Asaba, Benin City, Ibadan anf Kaduna are enough... But insecurity is an issue... |

typicalgamer:One thing you should note is that Nigeria leaders are reactive and not proactive. Don't rule out the fact that we can host the next AFCON. We have hosted the U17 world cup tourney before. |

100% right. Remove insecurity Nigeria can host AFCON in 6 months. MKO stadium in Abuja, Teslim Balogun in Lagos, Uyo Stadium, Benin city stadium, Adokiye stadium in Rivers. Not to mention Ibadan, Delta, Kano that can be renovated. minfelix: |

elyte89:Insecurity is a major factor I believe..When the time comes, our leaders will cough up the money .. They literally built Abuja stadium and other facilities to host the 2003 All African games.. Also, we bid for and made the final round of the 2014 Commonwealth games.. I think the Boko Haram bombings that intensified during that period discouraged other countries from voting for us, cus we had a firm case to be the first African country to host it.... |

gamaliel9:At every World cup I have watched since 94 there's always a dark horse. In 94 it was Bulgaria. Would have been naija but we fell off. In 98 it was Croatia. In 2002 it was Turkey. In 2006 (can't remember). In 2010 it was Ghana. In 2014 it Costa Rica. In 2018 Croatia. In 2022 it is clearly Morocco. |

daveP:Let me answer for Morocco: Spain did absolutely nothing. They invented a style of football where you pass the ball from side to side and forget about scoring goals. |
