Why did Tinubu won APC presidential primaries? Is it because he is stronger or because of what? That's not true.
First of all, Abiola and Tinubu both come from the most liberal part of the country where people are not usually discriminated against on grounds of religion or ethnicity.
It's a totally different scenario from what obtains in the North where ethnicity and religious identity are very paramount in the politics.
For example, a state like Kaduna has now formally joined the M-M ticket class of other northern states based on no other reason but bigotry.
So an idea of a nothern Christian building a political base in the North is near impossible. I can name many popular politicians up north who can only dream but can never become governors of their states by virtue of their religion. States that are Sharia, how can a Christian govern them.

Personally, I have nothing against whatever religion is ruling a state as long as it's the indigenous people of the state that are ruling.. the reason why the North have a problem is because it's the Fulani who are ruling them hence they're bound to have problem, including Hausa Muslims who have no say. I understand the plight of some Northern states and also the plight of those who are wary of Muslims altogether because the moment you try to indulge such religion, your culture get eroded and you could get dominated by outsiders in the process. Look at North Africans today.. They've been eroded after the Arabs colonised and enslaved them. The Arabs eroded them. They're neither Africans nor Arabs today. Egyptian were actually Blacks before! Olive in colours like the Ethiopians. Even Kanuri who brought in Islam through trading don't have a culture today. It's been eroded. Islam is all about domination which was used by Arabs to dominate other people for example the North Africans. For me, Arab were even worse than the British colonist because British didn't erode Africa culture but instead preserved it and even wrote about it. All what the British did was enlighten Africans and stop some barbaric acts such as killing of the twins. They didn't erode African culture but persevered them. Some of them even tried to emulate Africa cultures. Their only flaws was colonising Africans.

Anyway, I understand why non Muslims in the North are wary of the whole thing. Personally, if I had thought about all these things, I would have been at the fore front of asking Tinubu to choose a Northern Christian. Previously I didn't have a problem with the double Muslim Muslim ticket but thinking about it now, I don't know if it can be rectified because first, this would give a semblance of inclusiveness for these people who are few in the North.. Benue, Taraba, Plateau, FCT, Southern Kaduna etc..

Secondly, I believe it would help Tinubu candidacy the more because we're talking about the nation here, not state. National level comprises everyone and not everyone is a Yoruba who will identify with Tinubu's Yoruba identity hence Tinubu needs another identification card for others to support him. Of course we all know he's competent with the best track records out there and all but the point is some wouldn't look at that. He's a Muslim hence Christians who are not Yorubas may not want to support him but if he had a Christian VP, these people would definitely identify and support Tinubu.

Thirdly, there's need for inclusiveness. I still believe that all these need to be changed. Or at least, a quasi VP role should be implemented.

And Yeah, I support Tinubu because he's got the best decorated track records out there

Non Muslims in the North need to build a political base that transcends beyond North. They need a figure that can launch them to national prominence because power is not given for free.

Since Gowon left the scene, they have been relegated and they’ve not been able to find a rallying figure that can launch them to prominence. That is not the fault of Tinubu.

Even as it stand today, the Northern Christinans are not represented in Labor, PDP, or APC as president/vice. Only that politicians are selling them dummy that it’s only APC that is against them.

I know because we come from the SW we tend to overlook religion and how it can be divisive, but everyone gat to do what they got to do to win.

Tinubu cannot just for the sake of inclusiveness employ a Northern Christian VP just because he wants to please them. What do they bring to the table? Is it sure that they will give Tinubu 90% of their votes if he had selected one of them? You can see them supporting Atiku now, what guarantee is there that they won’t still support Atiku if Tinubu had selected one of them?

Presidency is Tinubu dream, he spent decades of his life working and building coalition, he won’t just risk it by selecting a Northern Christian just because he wants to be politically correct.
