Argentina did it eventually, will they repeat their copa America feat where they wobbled and fumbled to the trophy. Great mental strength from the Argies!!!!!! This Dutch team are not fancy but they know how to get the job done.
I hope they can finally allow VanGaal to retire, they should go and look for a competent coach and leave the old man alone

Nope I didn't say that

I am saying that the media's focus on mbappe while they neglect other dangerous players can mislead other teams from ensuring every french attacker is given close attention
Got you!!

Folks, I think it’s time we start talking about Morocco as a potential World Cup winners. But I agree that Portugal, especially if Fernando Santos would do the right thing again by starting Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench where he belongs, is the favorites today. But don’t count Morocco out … they are yet to lose a game.

As per the England - France game, I am still sticking with England over France. I am tired of all the media hype about Kylian Mbappe. All these hype would make him go back to PSG and start disrespecting his elders (Messi and Neymar) believing that he is really the best player in the world.

To me, Mbappe is good but not anywhere near the level of Leo Messi at his prime. For one, Mbappe is not a good dribbler of the ball. His game is built on speed. To defend Mbappe, put a good man to man marker on him (a destroyer) to defend him closely and not give him chance to run. Defend him close to the middle of the field and and if he outwits you, foul him right there. But the Polish defenders were so naive to leave him wide open inside the box to score on both occasions. Let’s hope that Garet Southgate will have a better game plan.

If they cage Mbappe, Griezmann and Dembele are still there.

I don't think he should be made a national team coach again unless he can clear his name, he was accused and condemned by FIFA unfortunately.
Siasia too is really good, minus his bad outing with the Eagles, he has always gotten good results for 9ja. Same with Keshi, what I don't like about him too is that he manages to leave a couple of slots for questionable invites.

Aguerd out for Morocco. Abeg is the Portugese keeper really better than Patricio or Sa? Also am shocked Cancelo can't make the first 11 either as a 2 or 3, na wa.

Morocco vs Portugal: Quarter finals action

No Nayef Aguerd (my favorite Moroccan CB), and no Noussair Mazraoui. cry cry embarassed

Both lads miss out due to injuries from which they haven't yet recovered.

A reminder that Mazraoui is top 5 for most tackles made at the World Cup so far among the 8 Quarterfinal teams only.

He will be missed today. So also would Aguerd be missed at the heart of Morocco's Defence.

Hoping El Yamiq and Attiyat-Allah prove to be fine replacements from the start.

Portugal looking strong as always. Only change from their last first XI is Ruben Neves coming into midfield in place of William Carvalho.

CR7 benched again. Inspite of it, Portugal are heavy favourites for this tie.

All the best to the Atlas Lions. My Maroc Boys cool

Honestly, Dembele is wickedly talented but with zero end product. As per Griezemann, another good player but I think moving to Barca had done a number on him. He’s not been the same player ever since, especially when it comes to scoring goals.

Trust me, England wins if they can cage Mbappe today.

Abeg oooo. Morocco should not win. It will violate tradition. But ultimately it's up to them. I don't see them getting past Portugal

Bros, the Atlas Lions are flying the African flag now. It was stolen from Ghana in 2010, let’s try and grab it this time.

Quite disturbing! I feel height is an issue in their defense. The Croat strikers are damn tall.
Icon79:
My broda, you gotta see me last evening. Let me just put it this way:
It was the best of times - first 80th minutes or so.
And it was the worst of times until the end of the extra time.

All in all, I was quite that I would see Messi play two more games in the World Cup. But the Argies really need to learn how to protect leads if they want to win this tournament. With all the experience in that team, I find it inconceivable that they could throw away a 2 goal lead in about 15 minutes. And don’t forget that the same thing almost happened in the Aussie game as well.

Your words and predictions carry very little substance beyond the emotive.

This game is balanced on a knife edge nobody is totally dominating. Morocco are technically the best team in Africa the team COHESION and DISCIPLINE absolutely First Rate.

At this point MOROCCO are the ones on the front foot.I want MOROCCO to win for Africa. I believe that the game will open up in the second half.

You should know the Moroccan goalkeeper was voted the best in the Spanish league. So if it comes to Penalties Morocco may be the ones smiling.

One man cannot cage Mbappe , so you will need a minimum of two players that leaves space for other players.

Dembele lacks belief otherwise he is very dangerous.

Blood and guts , effort hard work and determination NOTHING ELSE., just an enforcer.

If it was now he would be in league one at best the Championship.

I just do not see where Portugal goals will come from!
Marjoribanks:
Morroco vs Portugal- 0-0
Portugal will struggle against Morroco.
Morroco will not grant them space to operate.
Morroco will win on penalties.

I do not see Portugal stopping them.
