This reminds of Nigeria vs Italy, USA 1994. We were already celebrating then Baggio scored. Will Ronaldo do a Baggio? 2mins

Wow, again Morocco bags another first for Africa, first to make 2nd round in 86, first to make Semi-Finals for Africa. Didn't see this coming. So happy Chidera won't be playing in the Semis.

They have won.
I think the only team that can stop the Morrocans is France or Argentina.
I will be highly delighted if Messi wins!
Icon79:
Yup. I am giving away free money if Messi wins the World Cup. I have already announced the promo on Twitter.

And by the way, did you notice how Morocco suddenly stopped playing after the 50th minute? It’s like they want to defend for 40 minutes. These people don’t learn. I don’t think it’s going to end well. They are now getting badly exposed.

Marjoribanks:
Morroco vs Portugal- 0-0
Portugal will struggle against Morroco.
Morroco will not grant them space to operate.
Morroco will win on penalties.

I do not see Portugal stopping them.

Nerdie's Morocco makes History. My Maroc Support is Vindicated.

We came into this tournament with certainty in the kind of football we can play and the quality we boast as a team.

Before this WC began, practically only me in here saw the potentials in this Moroccan side and even stood by it despite their Quarter finals ouster at the Afcon.

When asked on Naijafootballers TV show who my favorites at the WC are, I said Brazil, Netherlands and Morocco.

My choice of Morocco surprised them. I explained that I have 4 NTs I love, respect and support... Nigeria and the above-mentioned 3.

Morocco looked the less fancied of my 3 favourites but I knew what they were capable of achieving thanks to their quality, coaching and Administrative structure. You see, I always did my assignments on teams. I also knew they would need some elements of luck too alongside their hardwork and discipline as a team. For example, that last minute extra time miss by Spain's Sarabia right before the PSO could have ended our road but the post said no.

Today we have made History again

The First African side to make the WC Semifinals.

Led by a coach who was part of a Moroccan side back in 2004 that defeated our Super Eagles and went all the way to the final.

Nigeria can be this team as well if we get our coaching right in sync with the pool of talents we have. They must not be world class. The players must be lads who just have the quality and the passion to give their all and play their very best.

Administration too must be gotten right but trust me, once the team is in good hands technically and tactically, it will reflect onfield and folks even outside of football will be drawn to the potentials that abide.

Tonight is for me and Morocco.

This is My Team. Now it is everybody's team because as always Success alwags attract friends.

Me, I saw them for what they are before this World Cup. One of the best playing teams on the continent and the most tactically Balanced team in Africa.

Congrats Morocco. We deserve this. wink

One key ingredient of the 94 team was the longevity of our coach then and full government support for Westerhoff. I believe the then FA chairman Emeka Umerouh or so was good too, though Alex Akinyele had his issues. Westerhoff built that team over time and they kept evolving. Personally, I don't believe personnel is our problem. The current team has better players overall than Keshi's (minus Mikel and Enyeama and arguably Victor Mosis) but they got better results. If the NFF gets their acts right, they would appoint the right coach and coaches, the coaches will select the right player combination etc and the results will follow automatically.

Respect Oracle! Morroco dey give dem breakfast. They song and posted the song on their IG after defeating Spain!
Marjoribanks:
Switzerland opened up cos they thought they could go head to head with Portugal.
Morroco will not give them that space. Spain had a better midfield yet could not break Morroco.
Portugal's midfield and attack are not exceptional. Relying on a 21-year-old striker against Morroco will be a daunting task.
Portugal even struggled against Ghana's midfield; not until Kudus and Dede were removed that they were able to counter.

Surprisingly I back you on this 100%.

Yes having quality players gives you the edge but at the end of the day you have to have passion for the flag and badge. Desire that will make you play beyond your supposed natural capabilities.

Reminds me of the Greek fairytale run to the Euro title in 2004.

E'too was on to something after all grin

Blueelf:
It doesn't matter what club you play for, the league you ply your trade in, there's just this monster you transform into when you don the national lteam colors of your country because of one thing; PASSION

Those Moroccans want to die if need be on that pitch. Look at Maguire playing god-mode football because of the passion he has for repping England

Can the same thing be said for our boys? They are more interested in the hailings of "Senior man, Senior Man" they get in every hotel they lodge in Nigeria than they are in playing

I'm not even surprised if thorough investigations reveal that some players have bought and secured a spot in the teams starting eleven or 23 because I don't understand why our players attitude stinks to high heavens

Na force them dey Force you to play for your country? There are many ajegunle boys that told me that if they were given an assignment to man mark Messi in a game for naija to secure national team spot, they don't mind dying and shedding their blood for it (I know this is a bit extreme but you get my point)

It's high time we invite players based on passion and form in the national team colors than our overgrown "Senior Men"

It will not be better from you any players that bought his way in the team. Both him and the bribe receiver will not know peace. The club they ply their trade in will sack them and they will become church rats for making a nuisance of our football. Amen!!

Yea, I said ir

You have been absolutely vindicated with your support for them, which I recall correctly you had even expected back then in 2018 where they were unlucky really cos they played well back then. Meanwhile am afraid Saiss may not be back again for this tournament, any news about the other two guys, Aguerd and Mazroui.
By the side, Pepe don blame referee for their loss o, nonsense and ingredients smh for the real Agbaya in Pepe, quoting him, he said "I am very angry, referee did not let us play".
