okay sure, I will. Thanks a lot!

That's wonderful. Next step is to ensure all your bills are cleared. Go to the birth thread so you can find out everything you need to know especially documents to show you cleared all. This is to avoid issues in your renewal.

any clue on restricted items when entering the usa?...i wish to avoid secondary.
dry vegetables and dry fish are allowed abi?. its only yam that i learnt was prohibited a couple of yrs ago.

is IAD - Dulles washington. a tough poe?

IAD is good for Nigerians, Ethiopian and Africans generally because they received more than 2 daily flight from African. Processing takes time, secondary screening is not a lot for Africans.

I love that airport...maybe I'm gonna use it again when I visit the US...@Seyewest, what do you think?

Back to the US again!

Flew in using Egypt Air, landed at IAD

Lagos to Cairo 5hrs 30mins…Cairo to Washington DC 11hrs 30mins

POE was a breeze!

Me: “Good morning sir”

Officer: “Morning sir. Please pass your passport to me. Could you please remove your cap?”

Me: Quickly removed my Panama cap.

Officer: “Do you have any liquor in your bag?”

Me: “Not at all”

Officer: “You can go ahead.” Returned my passport to me.

Now the holiday begins!!!

Has anyone use Philadelphia International Airport? Do they have any issues with carrying African snacks? That's not my final destination though.

Hi,

Yes I have and it was seamless. It was also not my final destination. LOS-LHR-Philly- houston. It was a BA ticket, but in collaboration with American Airlines.

There were two officers sitting leisurely in the middle of a hallway (no queue). I thought there were like security officers, so I walked up to them to ask for directions to my gate to catch my domestic flight to Houston and were to drop/re-check-in my luggage. It was after i asked them, they stated asked for my passport and started asking me 1.vacation or business 2. how long i was staying. etc. It was after they stamped my passport i realized that they were not just doing amebo...lol.

Note - this was in 2018, but I always remember this as my easiest POE experience. Maybe because, i didnot know they were the border control/POE officers, you know how the mind works, perhaps if I knew I would have been a lil nervous.

In summary, Philly is pretty chilled, I do not think many international flights land there.

Not really, I've booked it for a lot of passengers and I can tell you that the traveling experience is World Class, they even deployed a Dreamliner to Lagos.
it's one of the top 3 airline in the world.

Any direct flight to Ohio? Or which airport is best to connect to Ohio?

Qatar airline is topnotch. I got a city hotel during my layover when I used it in 2017. Unfortunately I heard they no longer give Nigerians a hotel accommodation during layover. Qatar mostly has long layovers though, that maybe the downside depending on how you spin it

I have been dreaming of moving to the U.S. for several years now and getting second citizenship or residency Global CitiZen. Right now I am trying to get a mortgage on a house in Philadelphia, and I hope very much for a positive response. If so, I will be able to get my citizenship through buying real estate here in America. What do you think about that? Is it possible? What resources do you use to do it?

Please check this properly before you commit.
Buying property in the US from overseas will impact getting a green card differently.
Only EB class visa qualify from investing in real estate, and majorly commercial, to get a GC. Minimum amount is $800k. No mortgage. No pay small small. They will verify the full cash in your bank and also require you to transfer it to a US Bank.

House, a quick question!

If someone has a visa that expired in Jan 20, 2021, Is he still qualified to apply for the 24 months interview exemption before January 20, 2023?

Can he apply let's say 15th January for example? B1/2

Thanks.
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Bossman(m): 2:57pm On Dec 24, 2022
No. There is no direct flight to Utah from Nigeria. You can fly direct from Lagos to Atlanta, New York, and Washington DC. Then take a connecting flight to your destination in Utah.

You're eligible for Interview Waiver (Dropbox) if your visa expired within 48months.
