Formerly we use to look at minorities from the north like Plateau, southern kaduna, niger, bauchi, adamawa, nasarawa, etc. as hausas. But these groups today have come out to say they are not hausas and that is what is happening today, they are not hausas. But prior to the nigeria civil war they had that single identity, "hausa". can you force the birom man now to say he is hausa? can you force the southern-kaduna man now to say he is hausa? can you force the gwari man to say he is hausa? can you force southern-borno people and adamawa to accept hausa identity today?

Ikwerres have to be of Igbo extration cause of their names and dialect. Amaechi is not an Ijaw name is it? The point is Ikwerres are Igbo. An Igbo can easily speak Ikwerre and vice versa. But here is the important thing; Don't hate them cause they don't want to be Igbo they have influence from other tribes too. What does Rotimi means in Igbo? Nothing Rotimi is a Yoruba name. Ikwerres have influence from Ijaw, Ogoni and other surrounding tribes but the major influence is Igbo and Igbo land should be recognized as their mother tribe. Just identify them as Ikwerres if they don't want to be called Igbo.
