Going through the comments, I saw that many don't really understand the point the guy was referring to. His surprise was seeing elder after he's dead, unknown to him that elder his already at the time he saw him last.

Demonstrate your gods or shut the fuq up forever. Always in the business of guilt producing and fear mongering. 500 years from now, you shall cease to exist... Enjoy the only life you shall ever get.

If this is the ONLY life you shall ever get, I can only pity your life.
The Bible says, "If it is only in this life that we have hope, we are pitiably miserable."
I don't envy the miserable earthly existence you have ignorantly chosen.
You will be alright at last, when you start to roast forever in Hell fire, unless you heed divine warning and repent of living as if there is no heaven to make and a Hell to escape.
Get well soon.
Shalom.

You see, he filled a milo tin can with water and covered with the lid. The lid was punctured with lots of holes, so many holes that it was basically impossible for the water not to pour out through them.

So, when he turned the can upside down , as expected the water was leaking through the tin can's lid. then after some incantation, the water stopped. As in stopped completely. he spoke again, then the water started leaking again, but this time with a sort of rhythm and in single or double drops. I observed him cautiously as he performed this 'trick'. AS a matter of fact, he saw the doubt and curiosity in my face, after the whole demonstration, he asked me to follow him to his shrine. My mum couldn't enter because, it was forbidden. He said, if she dare try am na dere she go die.

I guess you guys misunderstand my initial post for god's existence. My point: ask an average atheist and theist without basic knowledge of planetary geology about the craters on the moon, the former would likely say "I DO NOT KNOW" and the latter, "GOD DID IT". Hope you get? And yes, there are people who are agnostic atheists.

ELDER

Saturday,, August 6, 2022

I went to "family house" to reconnect with my neighbours and barb my hair. My barber didn't come in time though the salon was open as early as 8. Other barbers were already at work; but you know the thing with a black man, once he gets a good barber, it's for life (or so it seems at most).

Took a blunt (will quit smoking this year), ate breakfast with my old neighbours, then went to work.

Sunday,, August 7, 2022

Before church, I went down back to the mainland, to trim my beards as I couldn't do that the previous day. While I waited my turn, my neighbour of 22 years, Elder, (God rest his soul), came around.

All our adugbo Bro started teasing him amid heavy laughter (he was loved by all)
"Elder your mama n papa don go morning mass, second mass go start laidis, you no dey go church?

"Elder: As I dey here so, holy spirit dey my body. I be temple laidis, make una no worry.

Immediately he set his eyes on me, he screamed in delight, asked about my family n promised not to leave me unless I do Sunday for him.

Since I have a policy of giving people only what I take ( I don't drink, plus he doesn't roll a joint), I opted to buy him anything else he wanted to eat.

Na so Elder carry me, enter "family house", from fried meats, to indomie to pepper soup, Elder had his fill. Though I didn't know when he took one Budweiser.
He has a thing with drinks. He took one too many after that I guess. I left around evening.

Monday morning woke me up to a draw I won on sports betting that netted me 38k (Argentina Jnr vs Huracen), I went to work late though n dropped by at a warehouse close to my previous home later at noon.

At the warehouse, towards the side where they offload fridges, I saw my manchi, Bro Elder, with his Bongo White trousers n shoes with his worn out suit top. I just greet am dodge, so he doesn't bill me like the Sunday that just finished yesterday. He was saying something about people not remembering him to give him driving jobs. That it was only when we need something that we remember people.

This was around after 1to 2.

Finally got home around 11 pm. As I laid to rest after freshening up, my younger sister screamed from her phone that "brother, my friend say brother elder af die"

I was like how come,?
Wetin you talk?
It's a lie
Are you sure?
Who tell you?
Wetin happen?
...

Elder died at Ojodu Berger, same day at about to 9 in the morning, from a truck that lost its brakes. About four people died on the spot.

He was literally mangled with his insides strewn over the road among the wreckage.

WITH THE SAME CLOTHES I SAW HIM IN DURING 1-2PM!!

Few days, before he was laid to rest, I had a very very vivid dream (if it's truly a dream),

He was angry, called me by my first name and said "Uchechukwu, I no happy. I dey vex". I was glad to see him while muttering "Bro Elder, no vex" till I woke up.

This world has another dimension than what our senses n science defines n shows us.

Hmm... very interesting.
I believe akudaya does exist.

Now the question is why is it only in Africa that most of experience encounter happen.
There are very rare instances of Akudaya encounter in the West but in Africa almost everyone knows someone who had gone through such experience.

of course, spirituality exist in this life, mostly occurs when your loved ones died in such a ghastly way of death or prematurely at a younger age.
I have not personally experience this before o, but i have heard same stories of occurrences from lots of people before, and I believed them, its real and true. if you do not see or experience something personally by yourself before, doesn't mean its not real or true by others that have seen such things. what do they stand to gain by telling lies about it, does it add money into their bank account. but I believe will also definitely experience it someday.

it happens everywhere, just that the whites hardly migrate for greener pastures. Or you think majority of whites in Africa that has refused to return to their countries are legit people.

Eg Lagos is a very busy place, people migrate there in thousands every year, there is possibility of everyone having a relation in Lagos and environ, hence the possibility of seeing similar things during the daily hustling.

But a white family can migrate from one part of the states, say utah to Arizona or California,he gets a good job and drives through the traffic daily to his office, not some busy crowded places, where do you expect him to see such, except in park, shopping mall or some other eventful places he rarely goes.

I guess in the OP’story he is talking about his neighbour who lived closed to him and who didn’t migrate anywhere.
In Africa you find plenty of stories like this, people seeing their dead relative and neighbours who had lived close to them.
Or sometime it could be the dead relative sending someone to visit his family.

I have been in the west for 30 years and never at once heard anyone around me talk about someone in their family or cycle of friends who had seen a dead person.
I have never heard of any dead person sending money or his wife and kids to visit his family.

Stories like this in the west are extremely rare.
That's because people who have such experience are people who moved from other part of the country to the west. These akudayas don't reside where they can easily be seen, they moved to far places.

In the community I schooled,a very popular musician died, this is someone with about 4wives and multiple kids.

Roughly 15 or 20years after his death,a lady from neighbouring African country came to his family house with 3kids to look for his people, telling them how he branched off to greet an old time childhood friend and will soon join them.
Long story short, she was shown his grave and told had died some 15 to 20years ago(can still remember the day this man died and a distant aunt related to him who visits us was crying while breaking the news to my mom,I was live 5 to 6 years old then) she brought photos of them and even the kids are his cabon copy.

My point is these people move far from where they could easily be identified and even at that the world is a small place to hide.

It is the fictitious character you had created in this scenario who doesn’t attend crowded places. A good number of people in the west take crowded subway daily.

you are still confused, That's because op wasn't aware of his death few hours earlier.

People not aware of the death so some people within few hours, days or weeks may likely see them at some point(not everyone encounters this stuffs though because every human operates on different frequencies) it is different from seeing someone that you are aware of being dead ages or years ago.

In ops case,he wasn't aware the guy he was dodging was already dead earlier in the day.
If he was, there is no way op would have seen him, certainly not around where those who already knows he is dead lives.

Fair enough. Then back to square one with my question. Why this is phenomenon is prevalent in Africa and almost non existent in the west ? You wouldn't find anyone in the west with firsthand experience. But in Africa, just in one neighborhood, many people would know of someone who had seen a dead person.
