I am making plans to take them to court soon..

I will also include the pointex phone retail mall at ShopRite ikeja and Oppo as defendants .. this is open day 419 and robbery by big tech. They have my phone numbers ,I have already previously taken it up with them..

Would love to see this happen, and please, update us on the progress of the case. They mostly believe people who buy these devices are ignorant and non-challant to the device spec.

This is a very crucial point.
The specification on the carton.

GOOD QUESTION.. nothing is written on the carton. They try to conceal and deceive to the uttermost.. complete disinformation campaign to coerse both the wise and ignorant

Na the matter be that ..

They even sent the real Reno 8 with DIMENSITY 1300 to vloggers to push on their YouTube channels , but when it was time to sell to Nigerians , they brought in the knocked down version with the Snapdragon 680 chipset

Then you have a good basis to go to court.

I don't think it's about the store, it's Oppo themselves that sent a watered down version to Africa

Better in all depts,camera,processor,screen,charging

Oh well they advertised the oppo as a DIMENSITY 1300.. that chipset is cool and can compete anywhere .

But it was all lies .. it carried a Snapdragon 680..

And just to let you know that the Reno 8 is just a repackaged Reno 7.. not a single difference ...they just changed the casing and wrote 8 for a higher price

The 280k is not the issue here ..

but I didn't get what I paid for .. that's the bottom line . Maybe I can afford the 280k freely.

But what about other Nigerians who cannot afford it and maybe bought with their last card ?

If you are certain that is the case, you have valid case for a return, but according to gsmarean listed specs, the 4g model is exactly the same shape as the 5g model, but the specs are completely different, even the camera is different,
So it's either you checked the specs on a wrong site and ordered the 4g model or you wia lied to as you claim,if you were lied to,you have all right to return the phone asap, the longer it spends with you,the lesser your chances.
Infact you should have returned it the very day you noticed.

Glad the 280k is not the issue,

All I am saying it for 280k still, you would get a better specd Xiaomi device.
More premium and with 108mp camera.
But not my position to tell you how to spend your money boss.

Cheers

You guys don't seem to understand, unless he orders that phone from abroad it'll only be that particular nonsense he'll find here.

Oppo Reno 7 for the international market came with dimensity 900 infact the Reno 7 se that's a watered down Reno 7 still came with dimensity 900 while the one released in Nigeria is still the budget SD 680 and basically at the same price as the international ones

I will never forget when I bought a phone from slot and traveled with the phone to the North

The phone no use 2 month for my hand before e spoil, I didn't open the phone at all after buying it cause I was confident nothing will be wrong with the phone cause I bought it from slot. There was a long line on the screen, it was when I got to Zamfara I saw the line, I decide say make I dey manage am, the phone pack up in less than 2 month, I had to take my L in peace. It happened in 2012

Power bank I bought for 10k or so from slot again, the phone no use up to 1 month, I no dey go slot again go buy anything.

Never trust a vendor. this same vendors sometimes change the charging points to weaker ones so they can put it in other phones. This retailer do the fix phones or sell parts

Is it the vendor that put the chipset there?

Funny enough , other phone brands with same ram 8gb and ROM 256gb and comes in a higher better performance chipset don't even sell for 300k ..

So what is Oppo trying to achieve ? Rip off?

I have never been a fan of oppo because of their over priced products.

Swap chipset?

You mean a vendor will order for another chipset and swap it,have you seen the process involved in doing that?

Bro I work in computer village too,I understand that sh1t do happen but it's not easy to just take out a phone chipset.

It's a bad idea unless the phone is dead and you want to fix it but changing a chipset of a working phone,in fact downgrading it to a lower version doesn't even make sense.

This is not screen or charging port you can easily change,we are talking about a phone processor.

which one is change chipset?? It's only board that they change, I very much doubt one can carry chipset from a phone and put on another phone except it's done by the phone manufacturer; in oppo's case, they sent a watered down device as many phone manufacturer do to Africa. This behaviour is not peculiar to Oppo alone.

What I'm trying to say is that is not realistic, changing chipset on a new working phone doesn't make sense.

Nobody will do that unless the phone is dead.

Well it can be done, a technician with the right tool will do it but it doesn't make sense changing the chipset of a working phone, especially a brand-new phone just to downgrade it.
