I once worked in a private hopsital where at one point they were telling us that our salaries had to be delayed because too many patients were not paying their bills on time.

If people are not paying you for your business services, would you be happy?

You want the hospital to keep on forgiving poor people...till they are forced to close down under huge losses...and jobs get lost...and poor people have no hospital to go to?

Quite ridiculous that a whole General Hospital will refer one of newly born twins to a Private Clinic because of lack of bed space.

Won't be surprised the private clinic is owned by a doctor in the General hospital, or the owner is a close ally of someone in the General Hospital.

According to the story there was one bed space left for one of the twins. The health of the twins take priority, if they needed admission and there was no space, it makes sense to refer to the hospital they know is capable.

Though a Lagos State hospital might have handled it better, there's Massey, Lasuth and luth they could have been referred to even if the Gen hospitals don't have space

Basic healthcare we don't have in Nigeria imagine something this serious.

If you're familiar with the Central/General Hospital, Warri, then you'd know your best bet is to first reconcile with your maker if any medical emergency takes you there.

In fact, you have lesser chances of returning whole.

In simple terms its kidnapping and was supposed to be reported to the police by the parents. When are we going to wake up in this country. If she can't pay at all are they going to seize the baby forever? The dumb hospital is supposed to seek legal justice rather than take matters into their own hands. haba.
