My God!

This is the funniest thing I've read today.

A doctor that leaves his comfort, goes to the hospital for call, works impossible hours is lazy.

A doctor that moves from one surgery to the other, manages all sorts of cases in the A & E is lazy.

A doctor that runs clinics where he sees over fifty patients daily is lazy.

A doctor that uses his resources, sometimes even donates blood for patients he doesn't even know ab initio is lazy.

Well done.

U really have time to engage that illiterate.

Just know that society hates u as a doc. Know this and know peace.

I lost my first wife due to a doctor stupidity. See, I attempted to kill him but the security and the staffs have to hide him and took him away in a car.

See, it is not easy to loose a love one from a doctor carelessness.

Care to tell us what exactly went wrong?? What should the Dr have done that he didn't do?

Very stupid comment, people that work shifts for hours, some even more than 24 hours, and you come here to spit trash, work as a doctor in Nigeria first, with no bed space, limited man power, no equipments and see how easy it it to save every single patient that comes your way, nonsense.
what's your point bro?

Are you making up excuses for the thousands of avoidable deaths at the hands of careless, insensitive and nonchalant Nigerian Doctors and nurses?

While I condemn the murder of this Doctor, I will also condemn the carelessness, insensitive and nonchalant handling of patients by Nigeria doctors and nurses.

I'm afraid this might be a new trend for family members to adopt when a patient dies at the hands of a careless and nonchalant Doctor or nurse, regardless of the consequences. Damn the consequences!

RIP to all those who died at the hands of these nonchalant and careless Doctors.

My humble Advice to doctors and nurses should be, please, place some value on human lives.

Hmnn... not justifying this barbarism but doctors and nurses can push someone too far with their nonchalance. I am still planning what to do with the ones who were responsible for the death of my sis.
Nobody was responsible for the death of your sister. You will be blaming your failures on people. Must someone be responsible for your sisters death? Since you know so much about Medicine that you already know who killed your sister, why didnt you take care of your sister yourself and leave the innocent people alone ?

Dr Uyi Iluobe a young Nigerian doctor, entrepreneur and an ordained minister with the Church of God Mission Ministries, was gruesomely murdered in his privately-owned hospital (Olive clinic) in the town of Oghara-eki by unknown assailants on the evening of 29th December 2022 while everyone was busy with end of year preparations.

At a time when most doctors are dumping the country for greener pastures abroad those who stayed back are falling victims to the poor security situation of the country. Dr Uyi stayed back and established a clinic that provides care to the people of Oghara-eki. His knowledge has been a blessing to the host community as he is well known to the people whom he provides care with love and sense of duty.

Sources close to the family have revealed exclusively that Dr Uyi has received numerous threats in the course of his selfless services either by patients who do not want to pay for services rendered or those who felt that he was a foreigner in the land and should offer free care to them by force. Few days before he was assassinated a gunshot victim was brought to the hospital and in following the laws, he advised that they would need to provide a police report while treatment is commenced but they rather insisted that the victim be treated off police notification. He refused and they took the gunshot victim away angry and furious

On the day of the attack, he was in the consulting room with a patient (who is currently at large). The patient was said to have come in with severe pains and was being reviewed urgently without registration in medical records when suddenly the assailants came in and shot him dead. The lady (supposed patient) and the assassins left hurriedly in a car parked outside the hospital while other hospital staffs were all lying face down and in fear.

This is the most gruesome manner to kill a doctor who places the wellbeing of the community he serves in high esteem.

The body of the late doctor has been deposited in the mortuary while the security agencies are making efforts to fish out his killers.

What the fùck?!!!

Accident because roads are bad, let's hit the doctor

Child has asthma, no oxygen or nebulizer, let's hit the doctor

Snake bite no anivenom, let's hit the doctor

Bad lifestyle causing liver problems, let's hit the doctor

Brain tumor but no MRI or CT machine, let's hit the doctor

No bed space in the hospital, let's hit the doctor

Gunshot victim, let's shoot the doctor dead too.

May his selfless soul rest in the Lord's bosom. cry

Chargé them to court as an individual especially if you can provide an evidence. I know that some health professionals lack good ethics but that doesn't cancel every other person. How many sick people will survive if all doctors in Nigeria decide to stay off duty for a week?

What happened to this doctor will demoralize a lot of other doctors who were willing to stay in Nigeria despite the harsh environment they work in.

bro the court is not a one way road....
The court is a multiple way road.

Don't be surprised, that the shooter might eventually get a light sentence if certain technicalities are met.

I am in no way supporting the murder.

I'm only responding to the court in your comment.

Go and give the payment to churches for optimal care.

Thankfully, there's saner climes with better infrastructure to accept Nigerian doctors cause dying from misplaced anger wasn't on med school curriculum.

I do not deny that there are bad doctors, just like there are bad engineers, lawyers, etc.

But you should know this, please. Our society and culture make practicing medicine DIFFICULT.

Here's a typical scenario: A woman is terminally pregnant. This pregnancy wasn't managed in any hospital. From conception, she has been patronizing traditional birth attendants. She goes into labour. But there's a complication - it's her first pregnancy, her labour is obstructed. She goes to the TBA centre for delivery. Those guys don't know her labour is obstructed. They do all sorts of things just to zap the little money her family has. In the process, she ruptures her uterus and she goes into severe bleeding. Now seeing that this woman is almost gone, she's packaged and sent to the teaching hospital. Of course, there's little or nothing any doctor ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD can do. The woman dies. The story now flies around that she died in a teaching hospital.

This is what doctors see in our environment. Patients don't present on time. They do all sorts of things until the last second. Our people don't make the doctor the first point of medical consultation. They'd rather see a pharmacist (or an ordinary drug seller), a nurse, traditionalists, etc.

You get the point now?

This is really sad and I sincerely commiserate with the two families but this agonizing culture of negligence among our healthcare workers needs to be discussed nationally with a view to addressing this menace. Healthcare professionals in working societies like Europe and Asia are known to be one of the most loving, kind-hearted humans such that once they are with you, you find solace in the fact that you’re in safe hands. Nurses especially are one of the most loving sets of people on earth but Nigeria own just no follow at all. Being rude, harsh and disrespectful seems to be the only requirements needed to qualify to work as a nurse in Nigeria. A lot is just wrong with Nigeria. Do I blame the person who did this, the answer is no but it still doesn’t make it right.
To be sincere, after the Nigerian police force, the Nigerian healthcare workers (apologies to the few good ones among them) are the most heartless and unethical set of humans in this country but this still doesn’t justify killing them. The Nigeria healthcare workers need to work harder on their already battered public image.

Sometimes one feel like killing doctors.
Yeah.

I have seen situation where doctors didnt attend well to the patient for hours. My neighbour, a young doctor..
The patient who is doctor himself cried and begged them to give him pain reliever, but doctors in charge in general hospital that day did not care. If he had died, maybe killing those doctors maybe right decision.

My neighbour had appendicitis operation done by his boss in ministry of health in the boss private hospital.
After some days he started getting acute pain and we rushed him to general hospital as the best place to go because they have many senior and experienced doctors. But they were negligient.
Unfortunately the MTN, and GLO line the boss was using were not working well that day. That time was beginning of hand phone use.

He was in pain until his boss that did the operation came many hours later and told them what injection they must give him right there.

But rather we should have better judiciary to prosecute bad medical workers that cause death of their patients.
