I have very little knowledge about liquid soap business.

But what I can tell you is that, if diluting your mixture can actually increase your profit base and maintain your customers, by all means do it.

Make you soup a little bit lighter and foamer just like morning fresh. Your customer's won't complain.

You won't make it mmiri mmiri...it would maintain it's thickness and at the same time increase in quantity. This way you can still maintain your customers and boost your income. Your profit margin wouldn't hit the 4-5k target of your friend, but it would certainly be above the #1,200 you're currently making.
