I explained why Kwankwaso would be angry back in May before there was any primary in any party, and why he felt entitled to be the presidential candidate of any their force alternative to APC and PDP.

It's just his ego. He'd regret it for life. But Kwankwaso would have been another Atiku-like VP in Obi's wheel as president. He's more powerful and influential than it's even captured in the media. Only of the candidates (VP or presidential) who has the Northern fundamentalists' votes on lock even before the primaries.

I understand why he'd rate himself as much as he does, and expect to emerge as a consensus candidate, he's a very popular candidate up North. The reason he's not doing a madness is people know he just doesn't stand any chance running the way he's chosen to run.

Maybe I shouldn't have used stepped down. He meant that if he ran with PO, Northerners will not vote for Obi but will vote Atiku

Only way the alliance will work in his opinion was for PO to be his vice cheesy
Well I guess it all goes back to Disstroy's point of him feeling entitled to the third-force candidacy when he should have been reading the room.

I swear, if PO doesn't win 2023, 2027 would be another good opportunity to do the PO/Kwankwasiya movement. With at least 8M votes in the bag from PO, they will def kick either Atiku or Tinubu out if they fail to perform as president.

The presence of this strong third force favours Nigeria, and we have PO and those that believed in his candidacy to thank for that, whichever way the elections end.

My friend how many times would I tell you that if my comment is not for you, you ignore? Why obsessing over my comments? Any time you make a post here, it is to criticize my comment. If you don't like my views, you ignore, it's as simple as that. Not repeating the same thing everytime.

Donjazet2, maybe. But you tried to make it look like Yorubas in general are tribalistic. Of the top 3 most populated tribes, Yorubas are the least tribalistic.

And for all it is worth, Tinubu's occasional tribal card regardless, he appointed many non-Yoruba ethnicities into his cabinet.

It's time to let the constant hammering on tribalism go. Point it out on this thread when there's an obvious culprit - this goes both ways - but constantly hammering on it makes people defensive. When our tribe is constantly under attack, it's human to go on the defensive.

Tinubu is sick. He's too frail for the rigours of the presidency. He has a dubious genealogy. His educational history is ambiguous. He has drug- peddling allegations.

These are sticking non-tribal stones to pelt him with.

It's enough!

Obi would get farrr more than 8 million votes. In a sea of 200 million people, Obi gets far more than that. He has the general acceptability spread across all regions.

Unfortunate that we don't have a single northerner on this thread but I believe that the educated young northerners are leaning towards Obi. I once posted a poll here done in ahmadu bello which obi won with atiku coming second. The opinions of those young students was striking.

There's 93M registered voters, but yea, I expect him to get over 8M, that's why I said at least.

It's a good thing in the long-run he didn't become VP candidate. Kwankwaso is too much of a fundamentalist to be an obedient VP.
And he has a cult following which means he can't be kept in check. Whenever the President Obi doesn't let him have his way, one would expect to see Red Caps protesting all over the North that Obi has failed.

I don't think Datti-Ahmed is moderate too. But he's not as fundamentalist as Kwankwaso and Shettima. His comments about gáy people being kîlled seems like a one-off. He's barely made any other fundamentalist quip.

If you do an analysis you'll see what they're cooking in the North the election favors Atiku. Despite Tinubu campaigning daily, G5 making noise and Atiku chilling somewhere

Tinubu has to win on first ballot cos the moment it goes to runoff Atiku certainly wins

I've never done that. I've only consistently pointed out the tribalism of tinubu and his supporters. Never generalizing the entire Yoruba. For fvcks sake, I consistently highlight the adulation of pa Adebanjo, Obasanjo and co. I have never attacked the majority our Yoruba brethren here on basis of tribe, I don't attack larride, Oasis, blueray, itsrm, treble and the rest.

What I consistently do is attack the tribalism of the tribalists within the tinubu camp as proof as to how divisive the man is especially raumdeteur who till date is yet to explain his extreme igbophobia.

So please don't conflate my pointing out of evident tribalism to me attacking all Yorubas that will be surrending the narratives to them.

Just like the concept of reverse racism that republicans use, where when one consistently calls out the systemic racism in their society, they turn around and accuse the accuser of being racist himself, you should know what that's called.

Atiku is still favourite, and it's probably why he's just chilling. Despite Tinubu's campaign trail being more or less a comedy tour, man's putting in the work, I'll give him that. The only reason Atiku can be as chill as he is can onl be because he's putting in the work someplace else.

In 2015, Atiku defected from PDP because it was the turn of the North. In 2019, he contested again, turn of the North. He's contesting again in 2023, turn of the North. He will likely be back in 2027 cheesy

Of course it is me. Can you compare him to Jonathan of even Peter Obi. Buhari even said it today that he doesn't have any property outside Nigeria. He even said people should go and investigate and prove him wrong. Now can you say the same for Peter Obi. Didn't the UK government just close one of Peter Obi's companies? Come on bro..

Buhari has more Integrity than Peter Obi , it's a no contender bro.

I attack Peter Obi because he's an IPoB sympathizer. He has never criticized ipob and he's sentimental to the plight of yahoo boys. Now who wouldn't attack that kind of man? grin
joe what do you say about Buhari who is neck deep in romance with Boko Haram and marauding herds men and Tinubu has never criticized for once.

I will tell you one thing now: your very future and those of your kids and that of Nigeria hangs on this year's election producing Peter Obi.

Why?

Because for once if Obi wins from nowhere, it's power to the people. Our democracy would have taken a big stride in independence, transparency and accountability.

It would forever change the landscape of democracy, human rights, oppression and good governance because power will ultimately lie on the people and the ballot box will be the tool every politician will fear the most.

Atiku or Tinubu will only symbolize the continuation of the status quo; selection of candidates by a few political elite, chosen ones and systemic rigging against the everyday Nigerians.

You really need to know that this election is different from all other before it because Nigeria's democracy is at the crossroads.

If Atiku or Tinubu wins the usual way as par rigging, all our voices and agitation would have been for nothing and the people would have lost all zeal to vehemently campaign to vote for reforms.

You really need to see this from a national survivability angle.

And trust me, Peter Obi would deal with IPOB more than Buhari can ever do.
If there's one thing I can predict about Obi now is that he will be a pacifier when he becomes president

If you noticed, the tribalism call is no longer as effective as it was when it was occasional calling out.

Raum is one person. Amoto is one person. Until the slide into their ways or instigate it, the calls should be shelved.

What's the message for the others who far outnumber them?

I was enjoying the debates since last night about the ethnic make-up and intra-politics of the North, and Tinubu characteristically renting crowds in Enugu, including the ripping-off saga by the APC state chairman until tribalism came up even though neither of the two usual suspects on this thread went that way or mentioned Obi since last night.

We could have multiple discourse at a time. Yes, your boldness in calling them out too is duly noted but first, my tribalist accusations are very well targeted at the perpetrator especially the main culprit here, i personally find it very repugnant that someone will spend soo many years saying the vilest and ugliest of things to other people and then want to pretend like it's absolutely normal to do that and not even care to the normal readers here why you were so invested in such nastiness. I'm sorry but I really can't pretend to ignore that elephant in the room. At least offer up a rational explanation for doing the evil you consistently and willfully engaged in, not totally pretend that randomly calling people corpse eaters is an absolutely normal thing to do. And the 2nd objective why I do so is indeed me cynically highlighting the silent mob mentality. I mean, I'm sure and I know a lot of people also find those things said in very terrible taste, why it is difficult also speaking up against is my other motive. You bucked the trend, why couldn't others. The question would keep hanging there.

By my most generous analysis to Obi. This is being generous to Obi by a huge margin

I will say Obi wins all SE states
Obi wins 5 SS states Atiku wins Delta
Tinubu wins all SW states

So leaving Southern Nigeria Obi has 10 states Atiku 1 Tinubu 6

There are 19 Northern states. I can tell you Maximum is that Obi wins 1-2 which again is very generous.
The fact is that out of those 19 Northern states, there are about 12 that Obi wont even see 10% of the votes

While Atiku is likely to win majority of these Northern states. How many of these 19 states can Tinubu wrestle from Atiku. Tinubu needs to win about 7 to 8 states in the entire North to have a pathway to victory

For every state Obi drops in the South to Atiku even makes the Atiku pathway easier. This is why Obi candidature is a blessing to Tinubu

I bet there are many in Atiku's camp who will be so frustrated with Obi and even wondered if Tinubu is sponsoring him (See why Deji, Reno and many Atiku online people attack Obi more)

This was supposed to be a walkover to Atiku, his best chance since he has been campaigning for presidency over 30yrs ago and this is when one Obi just came from nowhere

Anyways, all these as I've always stated are just random guesses in the end. It will all be settled next month.

What we do know for sure is what the numbers tell us.
Ibime, you're a numbers guy, how strongly do you rate these polls that all have Obi leading?

Along the line I somehow forgot to remind us that apart from voting, there are some other minor roles we can play in being involved in our democracy. Unlike Nigeria, advanced countries and it's citizens are very proactive in democracy. For example, the art of civil disobedience or protest, we are still in that stage where all of us are used to accepting the shit thrown at us from government. In America, if a government official says monkey ate money, or termites ate financial documents, expect to see that government official in jail, expect to see visible protest if action is not taken. But we simply accept it as one of those things.

Secondly, participating in campaigns, either as a candidate running or a campaign staff, or a support group. The mindset to have when doing these shouldn't be self aggrandizing but a commitment to a cause you personally believe in.
Over the years, the people who fill those roles are bad people with selfish agendas but this campaign season has introduced a new dimension to Nigerian politicking and campaigning. You notice that paid rallies are no longer as significant as before, you notice that politicians no longer hawk and eat corns or eat children's food in schools. The narrative isnow purely on candidate quality, plans and capacity to deliver.

Important info, please there are over 300 Obi support networks around the country, find the closest one to you and join. It's nothing much, just you using digital media to speak to people around you for Obi, your work colleagues, your relatives, your fellow students, your church members. Just in general, those you personally know. The idea is to create a chain of linked supporters.

They're sent periodical text messages to keep them fired up for the elections and also introduce them to other candidates and offices on the ballot.
This is just one of the ways you get to participate in your democracy.
If you're interested, you can join any one of these that affect your personal interest.
