afrodoc2:My boy working in Manchester complains that them Caribbean and Jamo boys really soft when it comes to mentality. He works at an establishment and what he won’t even count as any type of strain, the Jamo boys will spend all their time complaining about it. I think Sancho is hella soft. He has more talent than Antony but Antony will have a better career than him if the mental part of his game isn’t worked on. |

afrodoc2:Injuries are excusable...Why is Sancho depressed? If it is football related then he really shouldn't be playing football... The fans and the management should be depressed especially when you consider how much we paid to get him...You look at Haaland and begin to imagine what would have been if Sancho hit the ground running like he did in the German Buli when he joined us... He should pick himself up and fight for his career...See Martial playing rubbish game week after game week. This club should learn from Madrid, such players should be made to train with the reserves and sold off immediately the window is open or better still have their contracts terminated... |

DeadPresidents:It is possible. When I lived in the Caribbean mental issues abounded. Very little thing they have committed suicide or attempted suicide. It was like a sniper epidemic. I noticed it was more common amongst those with full or part Indian heritage. Very little disagreement with spouse, neighbour, or colleague and dey don guzzle the toxic cocktail. The dangerous thing about mental health is nobody around you will understand . Not your parents, children, partner, or friends. Even I the doctor will be wondering “ You have a million dollar business, loving husband/wife, beautiful children, good health. Why are you depressed? “ |

patrickmuf:I decided to stop criticising him when I heard he had mental health issues until I know more. I don’t whether he is depressed because of football or non-football reasons, and I am not saying he should not be sold or whatever (Rashy n Garnacho are ahead of him anyway), however piling on someone struggling with Depression is insensitive. This is different from ACL or hamstring. His quality of life as a human being post-football and safety might actually be at risk here. It is obvious you don’t know about mental health issues. Most times people suffering from it don’t know why it is happening to them, and their family n friends (like you) just want them to buckle up and fight. That’s not how it works. |

afrodoc2:I am speaking as a fan who is disappointed in the general performance of Sancho since he arrived Old Trafford...I am not insensitive to his personal challenges, my argument is that if it's football related then he is mentally weak. He has not gotten the stick from fans and journalists compared to Maguire. |

patrickmuf:Madrid wins trophy, that makes it easier for them to sell their players and with substantial amount self, I bet if we eventually win something this season, you'd be surprised on how much we'll make from transfer during the summer |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by DeadPresidents: 10:19am On Jan 15, 2023 |
patrickmuf:How many players have gotten their contracts cancelled by Madrid? Canceling contracts involves massive payouts that can impact your immediate cash flow scheme because with wages, payments are amortized at least. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:22am On Jan 15, 2023 |
Cyberrex:Madrid wins because they don't tolerate mediocrity...Most players up their game when they join Madrid, quite the opposite of what we have at Old Trafford because there's little or no pressure for you to deliver and that's something EtH is hell vent on changing... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:27am On Jan 15, 2023 |
DeadPresidents:You're picking on cancelation of contract and not outright discarding via sale. Talking about contract termination, we have seen Juve terminate Higuain's contract as well as Khedira's...It's all about sitting down a player who knows he isn't going to start games and negotiating a way out either via sale or termination...If we are not selling or terminating then we can loan players out and collect good loan fees while taking their wages off our payroll for the period like Madrid did with Bale, Atletico are doing with Felix abd Chelsea with Lukaku... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:27am On Jan 15, 2023 |
patrickmuf:I am not saying we should not sell him cos we already have 2 players in his position who are playing better. Unless he comes back in incredible form his days here will be numbered anyway. You don’t know whether it is football related but you are already mentioning mentally weak. Like I said you obviously don’t understand mental health issues. And we also don’t know enough about this particular situation. And it is a bit insensitive when you are thinking of your customer satisfaction as a fan when he might be dealing with something that could affect him for the rest of his life. I don’t think it’s right to blame someone for developing Depression. |

patrickmuf:I am not against sale or cancellation of contract, but we should approach it logically from the point of view of lack of productivity. I just don’t like your language of blaming someone suffering Depression. It is not something you just sit up and fight through. I know several people who are incredibly successful in both business and family life, but suffer major depression. |

afrodoc2:this is a good summary, but on the other hand, the press and public especially in this day and age, is making it sound like depression is something fashionable. I was at my neice's school late last year to attend to something when I overheard a teacher asking a little boy to pick up his tab from the floor or something. the tiny-voiced boy said he couldn't, and when pressed further he said, "because I'm depressed, depression is real". I was beyond shocked. what was that about? the Japanese-looking teacher that stood with me said she was tired of taking classes. the pupils sing depression like it's some recent hit jam. the mind programming, especially in the west is something that is taken lightly. it wasn't like this just 10 years ago. |

Depression is one mental state that you cannot pinpoint what triggers it and most times the cause is unexplainable. It takes time and care to go through it and come out of it. Hopefully Sancho comes out of it better. |

I do agree with patrick though, If it's for footballing reason Sancho do have a weak mentality because I shudder to think what could've happened to me if he get half of what Maguire get from sections of the fan base |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:57am On Jan 15, 2023 |
ChristineC:Of course. I don’t like the way Depression is becoming a fad. I think because for so many years people didn’t pay enough attention to it we have probably swung to the other extreme. The thing however is that there are people who are really suffering from it and it does not show on the face. I have had some really difficult cases whereby even the doctor is getting stressed lol. And these are people who are not faddists and don’t want to even publicise their depression. I don’t know why it has gotten so bad in recent years. Maybe it is all these vaccines, maybe it is all this industrial food, or all the electromagnetic waves all around us in phones and TVs etc. I DON’T KNOW, but something is going on with mental health. |

patrickmuf:AWB has improved in a lot of things. the easiest to note is that his first course of action is not going to ground anymore. the slide tackling is becoming a last resort, and that confirms that his positioning and game reading has taken a leap forward. I also how mentally tough he is, despite being sidelined for long, the manager even hinted at his being surplus to requirements yet he didn't complain. he put in the work off the pitch and at least the club can make decent fee even if he's sold. Fred is also in this bracket. this is also why I have concluded that Martial is a lost case. individual player improvements is a clear evidence Ten Hag knows what he's doing. |
