Good evening Mamas in the house,my 4 months old baby started this thing whereby he stiffens his body(freezes)for few seconds when picked up or when I make movement as little as walking with him on my back,he stiffens his body and let out a short cry on my back and relaxes again,I took him to the hospital today because the things I have been reading on Google is not helping my mental health at all,the doctor said he is fine,after we left the hospital this evening,he slept off on my back,as I was moving towards the bed to drop him,he froze and cried again before relaxing his muscles,I know we have senior mamas in the house, please help, should I be worried and how can I get the doctor to actually witness it,when it happens,I mostly am not able to record it because it is just for few seconds or could it be as a result of throwing him up after bath time when he was a baby?I fought so hard for my baby not to be thrown up but you know all these grandma and their wahala, should I be worried mamas,I cried my eyes out this evening already..... sorry for the long write up and typos

The moment high blood pressure is detected in pregnancy they should admit for observation immediately and also check urine for protein so they can be on top the situation. I’m not comfortable at all too.

Exactly, admission is needed. I remember my doctor explaining to me while he had to induce me in just 3 days , I was giving drugs but it didn't work for me. The day of labour it was 150, then during labour it started coming down.my BP was checked every 30 minutes I got so tired it was so uncomfortable. I seriously advise my fellow woman to go to good hospital that can monitor her closely till she reach 34 to 36 weeks,then they can induce her or perform CS. It can be managed with proper care and in the hospital not at home. I was admitted 2 days prior to induction for monitoring

I have had it twice and the only cure once it’s not coming down is delivery of the baby, every child is precious but waiting for seven years for this and then the doctor is not on top of the situation is not satisfactory enough to me.

Honestly, the doctor is not serious to me. He/she supposed to be on top of the situation already. My friend that did IVF had BP 139 or so, she was operated upon around 35/36 weeks. It was a precious baby after waiting for 5 years and two IVF so they couldn't take risk and thankgod all went well

It is important you are able to record it cos that's the only way you can show doctor. Though this little explanation you gave should be able to give doctors idea and make them do necessary test. But pls don't panic, sometimes it's all just for nothing. Every baby is different. But we mothers know when something is not ok. You can tell the doctors what Google tells you and ask them to do the test if possible as long as it won't hurt the baby.

It might even just be spasm that will go away on its own. Is the baby in pain when he/she cries? You must know if theur is pain in the baby's cry

All will be well sis, my first son was born at 28 weeks due to preeclampsia in a general hospital emergency CS. BP started at 6 months and was managed till 7months. He spent 10 days in NICU and he was discharged. He is 5 years old now and perfect. My second pregnancy I was placed on aspirin from 12 week pregnancy due to my history, I used two hospitals one is private, and one is general hospital. I started taking, a mixture of beetroot, carot, apple, half a lemon, to control BP, at a point I was admitted to the hospital, that was year 2020, the pregnancy was managed till 36th week and an emergency CS was done. I had a bp machine, and a urine strip to check my self and watch out for protein in the Urine. This is my 3rd, also placed on aspirin from 12th week, I'm currently in the UK and midwives and doctor are monitoring back to back due to my previous cases, I also take a mixture of beetroot and other fruits. I have urine strip n BP machine with to check myself. God will see us through in Jesus name.

It might be just spasms or seizures.some baby have it and it goes away on its own....but don't ignore your intuition

I have been in the hospital for the past 1 week , 2 events stood out.

One was a lady who gave birthday via VD , she said the baby had the cord round his neck that he cried once immediately he was born then kept silent so he was kept in the ICU . She had been told that she needed CS to birth but she insisted it has to be VD. After 2 days the baby died, her first son to be .

Another was a lady brought in last night whose BP was 180/120, the husband was asked to deposit money at the pharmacy in case there is need for drugs since it is a teaching hospital, you won't believe he went home without making the deposit. As at 12am, we were all awaken by the nurses running around, she was convulsing , her BP over the roof ! See the way other Mamas were praying for her , I could hear her forcing saliva through her clenched teeth , she became calm by the time her Drs came then was transferred to the labour ward . She was told she will have ECS today as they can't risk another seizure ( thankfully she is 35weeks 5days.

Reduce salt,take enough water,eat cucumber then rest a lot,my BP is always 137/88 every morning sometimes 140/90 but immediately I use my drugs it will crash down to 110/70 till night please do not be scared,rest your mind.We have mamas here with bp issues and they birth successfully, please those mamas should please enlighten us more

It's pregnancy induced bp. I had it in my last pregnancy. At 38 weeks my BP was 140. Not to scare you but doctor told me it's safer the baby is outside as soon as possible. So he gave me 3 days after which I was induced and had my son alhamdullilahi. Where I'm going is, your BP is 140, and you are 24 weeks,I think you need to be monitored in the hospital and taken care of so it won't increase further. I'm thinking the doctor should have suggested admission for proper monitoring because you are still far and it's a precious baby and not just giving you vasoprin and let you go home. Pls you need another doctor opinion on this. the bp will only be back to your usual when you have your baby. Please go to another hospital for second opinion. This is not something you cause or anything, it's Induced by the baby and doctors don't know why only that it will go once the baby is out. I wish you safest delivery ever with your bundle of joy. Seek another doctors opinion pls. It's not your fault at all

Hmm, honestly mothers go through ALOT in having babies. I just want all to be well so I can hold my baby. The feeling is so exciting & precious feeling he's kicks here & there. When I retested yesterday it has dropped to 130. I really hope it drop to normal.

I was purging seriously,I didn't know the stooling was contraction.My stomach was giving me sign but didn't know.The doctor said it was fetal distress that the baby was looking for a way to come out

Thanks. We are doing well o. Spit wants to finish me. Please is there a way one can reduce this salivating? I can spit a total of 3 full cups in a day. Can't just seem to manage it. I can't even say it's spit. It's water coming out of my mouth.

Aside that, we are fine by God's grace. First semester done and dusted and boy am I so glad. First trimester was horrible for me. Hormones everywhere. I was crying everyday for no reason. My body irritating me. My house irritating me. My food irritating me. Everything was just anyhow anyhow. Thank God hormones have settled.

God will see us through in Jesus name. Safe journey to all mommas. We will deliver safely and carry our children in Jesus name.

I had severe preclamsia in my second and I had emergency CS at 38 weeks thank God so there was no need for anything. The BP developed suddenly. Everything was fine until around 37 weeks and I can speculate on what induced it. Although yes it's pregnancy induced, I can say it was due to lack of sleep - I had a toddler that was giving me a lot of trouble so I wasn't sleeping well. Had insomnia and by morning when sleep is coming, she's awake. Was barely managing 3 hours sleep per day.

Secondly, I wasn't eating well. Wasn't taking enough vegetables, green vegetables especially so my sodium content was high. I can remember eating indomie one night and that was when my legs and hands got swollen. I knew something was wrong in my body immediately I finish eating that indomie - I have heard that indomie has a high sodium content.

Thirdly I was afraid. Why? To be honest, I don't know why. Fear is a demon. Please ladies, don't ever guard fear in your heart no matter what! We are co-creators with God so He is on our side. I remember always rushing to the hospital with any little thing. After I had my baby, I dealt with this fear. It is a spirit and I cast it out of my body. I choose to have the spirit of Love, Power and Sound Mind. I have the Love of God in me.

These things contributed to my BP skyrocketing. I am in the UK and I had more than 20 doctors attending to me because of the severe preclamsia. Machine couldn't even read it again at a time. It was just going off with high sound. They were all scared. Na there God tell me say, this fear needs to be dealt with.

Going forward, I started eating healthy. Lots of vegetables, reduced starch and carbohydrates. Intermittent fasting. Took supplements. I also did a lot of bitterleaf juice - read that it reduces but can't take it during pregnancy. My body came back to normal and was able to conceive smoothly again. This time around, I dropped off work so I am a full time stay at home mum. I don't care what people say, if you like call me lazy, na you know. My health and life first. I rest and sleep when I am tired. I do housework when I can. God helped me to develop the courage to put myself first irrespective of what anybody says. I also try to eat well - eating well is not wolfing down high carb contents. It means eating vegetables, soups, fruits and lots of exercise. Best of all, don't guard fear in your heart. God is on your side women. Just know that.

My baby boy was born this evening @40 weeks, 2 days, after a LONG INDUCTION . I suffered, but it ended in praise. Vaginal birth, no tears. Weighing 3.9kg.
