No I don't think it's the refinery road, this one is just straight from lekki epe expressway to eleko junction then continue like you're going to epe you'll see the paved road.

What I mean is Eleko juntion is d junction u divert from if u r going to Dangote Refinery abi. So from that junction, straight ahead to Epe is what Bubu is coming to commission??

Don't mind them. A 150k job is still far better than a 300k in ehailing bearing in mind all expenses and trouble that goes into the later. But the snake Pearl1910 and the bandit will never agree. They will never share their experiences on the job here, only dashboard. That's how you know liars. People always forget that there are two sides to a coin.

Thanks for pointing out the snake to everyone here but who is this bandit you’re speaking of? undecided

I think I'm paying close to 26% commission or more.
The car consumption rate is 30% when I buy 250/ltr and20% - 25% when I buy fuel @170/ltr.

In short:
More than half 55% in total of our earning is going to expenses

Therfore, our of the 199k you saw, I probably saw between 80k -92k. And still had to get 2 toks tyres for 15k each ie 30k for the 2 tyres.

My car key broke on the door while at jara mall ikeja around 7:35pm. I had to leave overnight.

Spent extra 13k to remove kept and make 2 spares.
Spent 37k when my the spider alxe shaft of the passenger side damaged and disconnected from gear. I had to tow it off lekki phase 2 express and beg a filling station to let it sleep overnight.

Fixed it the next morning and kick of work again.

To be honest. We might see huge figure earned. But I barely keep up to half of the net profit money earned. It all went back to the car.

Let's imagine, I also have to remit. What will I drop when I had spend all on car repairs, commission and fuel

All of this wahala in a week?

My in-law uses Nissan Rogue 2014 model. Before he travelled he topped the CVT gear oil with abor oil.

When he starred the suv to go out. The vehicle refuse to drive or reverse.

We called a nearby mechanic and all he said was the gear is bad without even checking anything.

Pls what can be done

Chai! Abhor oil! That gear no like abuse at all! Why did he pour abhor oil? Was it low on gear fluid?

Well...u have a point but people in government have to be held accountable. when I say the system, I mean having a water tight system and an independent system such that even if it's the devil that becomes president, he either does the right things or we kick him out.
Terrorists went to free their brothers and no one resigned, no one was fired.
People are being killed in d NW, NE, NC, South East on a daily basis, sometimes we see videos of their operation in broad day light and no one is made to account for the sloppiness of our security agencies.
How can fraudulent people gain access to positions in government when we have DSS who is supposed to screen people in public office. How will somebody come into office and steal when we have Accountant General, Auditor General, EFCC, ICPC, etc. So u see everything u mentioning has a check if the institutions where working fine.

Don't try to police individual lives...let people make money however they like, if they go against the law, d law is supposed to catch up with them.
People get loans to travel out and they work and pay back, or get scholarships that reduces their tuition or deferred payment such that they pay their fees after they graduate and start working.
If people are doing 419, in a working system they better stay out of public eye, cos the day u say u want to contest for anything u will explain how u got all those monies and declare ur asset. So somehow rich people of questionable character don't try to contest for public office. Example is Donald Trump. See how they dissected every penny he earned?

Now I just used rice as one example of why people just buy the most convenient and valuable things not necessarily that they are looking for foreign goods. Like the cocoa u mentioned, have u tried to do any export business in Nigeria? It is d export process and fees that u will pay that will discourage u. What kind of country that wants it's economy to boom will stiffle d few people trying to do things to earn a living? How will people not go into fraud and deciet. See eh...sometimes when I talk about Nigeria, I get very angry in my spirit. NNPC will sell crude and not credit fed govt, Customs will collect fees and remit only 10%, CBN will make money and spend it as they like, FIRS will generate money and give what they like to FG. Then FG will borrow money year in year out to run the budget. National assembly (less than 1500 people) will seat and allocate almost 20% of the budget to themselves. Enjoy office for 4years and recieve severance package in hundreds of millions while civil servants will suffer for 35years and will beg to collect the contributory pension they did.
If governance was work well, Nigeria has no business borrowing. Do u know that as little as airport toll gate N200 and airport parking N700 naira amounts to millions daily which is supposed to go into government coffers, but it's FAAN directors and MD that are sharing that one. Do u know how much NPA generates? Omo X100 make we no dissect. When some people say the country is a Zoo...u better think about it.
But one candidate has given us hope that when he comes in things will change. He has a history of stopping theft and waste, he is without corruption allegation and he has said it is POssible to put back Nigeria on a winning trajectory. That is the hope of well meaning Nigerians. We can't be complaining and still be doing old things, that will be madness. It is foolishness to do the same things over and over and expect a different result.

I will rather say A 150k net of expense job (Tax and transport) is more better than a 300k net of commission (commission only, and assuming that's the person fixed monthly earning ) e-hailing. Even at that it's still arguable.

E-hailing earning can be limited so fast by a bad car and a paid job has its own downside as well.

But then remember on e-hailing earning is flexible and you can earn more than the above, if you can do the work, but salary is mostly fixed and mostly rigid and can be easily affected by economic realities.

Salary hardly adjust to current economic challenges, often but mostly, earning on e-hailing reflect current economic challenges (introduction of Price surge)

Good points, if I may add, this debate is relevant to those who drive for themselves. The comparison won't just work for those on rentals. You really have to work your sucks off to make anything meaningful.

Having a 9-5 can be combined with this, i
t seem smarter. It will be foolhardy for anyone doing this on a full time basis to turn down a job with a fair pay because you make up to 500k on ehailing. Combine both. Same way it will not make sense for anyone to quit a 100k job and face ehailing.

Tell your in-law say he don buy market o,first thing first he should drain that nonsense he pour there and refill with the recommended fliud twice,if there is no improvement he should go and buy new transmission o , believe me it will be very, pricey.some brands of cars don't take abuse at all.if you stress them with fake outdated transmission oil like abro, they will stress you financially.for the records abro is not meant for cars of recent models,it was made for olden days vehicle.cvt is not to be messed up with.

You are drain, I was devastated. Yesterday I queued for over 5 hours at NNpc Ejigbo, they suddenly stopped selling ported over to the Total filling station, was happy making it inside their premises only for them to also stop selling, total man hour lost to non productive activity 8 hours plus... drove home without buying any fuel. I am tired of buying fuel at N250/N300, no economic justification given the current fares on ehailing apps.

About 2 weeks ago, got into that filling station after 9pm they stopped selling, had to do night vigil... my stress level did not keep the mosquitoes from doing their job...finally got fuel at about 6am. When they were filling my tank the supervisor who just arrived told all the fuel attendants to stop dispensing luckily l was able to get N5k worth of fuel. I avoid black market fuel.

You dey find 150k a month job, and you made 199k a week on e-hailing? Maybe I'm missing something

1. health is wealth, their is no positive correlation between milage and your health. I wish ehailing companies would tell us the occupational health hazards concerning our jobs, but everything is shrouded in secrecy.

2. Ehailing earnings can be quite inconsistent... remember your experience in trying to fix your car from all the troubleshooting bringing down your evaporator, to finally finding the fault...

3. Peace of mind... ever since my car broke down at ipaja and had to to leave the car overnight my confidence level of driving the car at night has taking a dip.

4. I miss my weekends

U are correct though.

But I think if u plan your days u can have all or part weekend to yourself and have a daily stable targeted earnings.

Provided u have fixed every critical aspect then be sure ur car will not just disappoint like that. Most times we know we are managing our cars. It is rare for a car to just suddenly develop a fault without signs. Let's just keep learning and gaining experience to hear when the car is speaking to us so it doesn't fail in a bad place.

I like the fact that you said it is rare. That means it happens and it can be anytime.

Radiator fan can just decide to pack up, serpentine belt can snap, fuel pump fuse can cut off or even fuel pump go bad. Etc.
