Keep fooling yourself
The technology doesn't have a name?
What you're talking about is gps and sim server locator, and it's network providers that possess it and not Nigerian police. This service is not usually available to people because of security reasons but the police can always access it through the network providers. Nigerian police has NOTHING!
Why are ignorant clowns like you who don't know anything so cocky with your ignorance, bros the thousands of phones tracked by the police yearly how is it tracked or is it your daddy that helped recovered the phones

Don't think you can successfully track it but I won't be so sure. If it's a Samsung, I can bet you can. I actually lost my Samsung S20 recently and I successfully tracked and located it on my other Samsung. It was easy and straight forward but all these Redmi, Tecno phones no get try.
Just so you know Redmi is actually easier to find,as long as your location is on,you can find it anywhere using another phone

Guy stop saying what you don't know.
As a software engineer with m.sc and at least 10 years experience, I can tell you that the only technology available for tracking are not much. The two popular and widely used is:

1) GPS
2) SIM CARD

Nobody can track any gadget with so-called imei.

What usually happens is that, when a thief inserts a sim card on your phone, the information of the phone and IME number is automatically sent to the network providers. This information will usually include the location as well and they use this to track the phone.
There no military what so ever technology anywhere besides this.
You see how stupid you sound

So you won't browse, nothing?

Again, I doubt if anybody can be arrested in his bedroom via tracking alone, maybe they used soft target like his girlfriend, relatives etc.

Baba Yes No browsing oOo.

I will do everything Manually and Offline and I will be extremely discreet about It. No Familiarizing.

There are Gurus hiding on this earth who doesn't make use of all these Technologies.

It Is very easy to track people in Nigeria without even involving girlfriends or relatives. Many people are not Tech Conscious yet.

A Life full of Crime Is a hard one even though the Rewards are always high. But unfortunately no Peace of Mind.

Some people would say the Nigerian police have the technology but it's a lie.

The only people that can find your phone through sim card or IMEI are the network providers.
This service is not generally available to ordinary people due to security reasons, except if one gets a permit from the police. (The DSS issues permits like this, but they will hardly give it to you...). The Nigerian police usually exploit this option for themselves. When you report your stolen phone to them, THEY BILL YOU, and consult your network providers directly to find the phone through sim card or IMEI (GPS IS USUALLY USELESS BECAUSE THE THIEVES WOULD HAVE TURNED IT OFF IMMEDIATELY OR EVEN TURN OFF THE PHONE).

THE NIGERIAN POLICE DOESN'T HAVE ANY INDEPENDENT TECHNOLOGY TO TRACK ANY PHONE, DEM USUALLY JUST DEY USE UNA CHOP MONEY.

The saddest part of this scam by Nigerian police is that, even after you pay, most times they won't even make any effort to finding the phone. They'll just start lying and posting you until you get tired and give up.

1. Go and swear an affidavit that you lost your phone

2. take the affidavit to police station and get a police report for the loss of phone

3. Write officially to the telecommunication network service provider for the SIM that was in your phone and ask that they help you to track the phone - include this message that you received in your letter - (MCC:**; MNC:$$; CELLID:10##; LAC: ###’) also remember to mention your phone number and IMEI(check the pack of your phone) It is usually written on the pack and the body of the phone - This number is the identification number of your phone; it is unique for each phone.

for the message that your received - MCC:**; MNC:$$; CELLID:10##; LAC: ###
CELLID:10## - is the telecoms mast - where they are using your phone to communicate

LAC: ### - Shows the telecomms switch that is authenticating communication from your phone

MCC & MNC are network codes assigned to the telecoms service operator that your SIM is using

first thing first - rush to a service center and block your line so that they do not use tt to commit crime/ kidnap and collect ransom with your phone

Sorry about the loss & the stress

Dude, it seems you don't know much about Redmi and Xiaomi phones.

One of their major USPs is security. They have a very robust security platform which makes locating stolen phones quite easy. I'm not sure that even Samsung can beat them in that regard.

Apart from tracking, the Mi cloud/Account makes it quite easy for you to remotely manipulate and render your stolen Redmi phones useless, in the hands of a thief.

Just a hint. Do you know you can turn on your iPhone gps remotely? I once lost ordinary iPhone 6. I switched on the gps remotely, tracked it and rendered it useless until the guy turned Good Samaritan by force and called the number I left on the screen.

So like you said, iPhone and Samsung all the way.

You can only turn on a phone Connected to GPRS remotely. Anything apart from this Is a waste of time.

The best way to track lost phone is what Gionne does. You register three of of your friends number for tracking. In the case of loss of phone, when the thief insert a new sim it will send message to those phone numbers. As soon as you know who holds the phone the tracking can be made easy.

absolute trash. You can trash any phone, even if it's a Nokia torch,so far the SIM is there. For other phones, u can track so far it has internet. For Nokia torch, so far the SIM is on. You'll track to the exact location. The Nigerian police has this technology, low-key and take it or leave it, it's been done many times that av witnessed

My redimi 9a can track without internet or sim with the micloud... I have tried it personally when a friend borrowed my phone and it's taking time to return it... I tracked him to the location he was and collected my phone back... He was wondering how I knew where he was.

I am using redmi 9a and mine worked fine without my sim and I could track it... Even without internet on my phone...
Here is what I did... I logged in into my micloud account from another phone and I switched on that phone data and location and I tracked my phone directly and it worked fine for me... Maybe the phone you are using to track your phone is faulty or had bad reception... Try and good phone and login into your micloud account and try it out and make sure you switched on location and data... Thank you

You're funny
For your info, I have a Redmi here at home, it's my family emergency phone incase something happens but I can't even use it cos the UI is shit.
You don't even need location or anything on with Samsung to find it. Even if it gets wiped or deleted, as long as it's ever turned on again, you'll find your Samsung phone and Google map will lead you to the exact location. Infact, you can remotely wipe, lock, delete and make it ring when there is no Sim in it and the ringing won't stop no matter what the person press until you stop it from your end.
I really don't need to talk about this. There is no argument here.
