Hello mamas, I have a question about 2WW. My doctor said he was only going to give me 3 days sick leave to present at work.

So my question is that is there anyone that worked during 2WW or am I overthinking it? Should I apply for casual leave?

Good afternoon mamas. Please I need your help.

I've been married since 2016, though we didn't start trying until the following year. I had a miscarriage in 2017 and since then no pregnancy. Though I was mostly using herbs. I went the hospital route fully in 2020. Then, my doctor recommended Duphaston because my progesterone was low and it affected my endometrium lining. But after three months of using it, I was measuring well between 10-12mm. Still no pregnancy after tracking ovulation for a few months. Then, I was using Letrozole and Duphaston.

I travelled and had to change my gynae. New gynae asked me to run test and diagnosed me of PCOS last year. He recommended Hyponidd and Dostinex for high prolactin. But hubby is getting inpatient and thinks we should go through the IVF route. I'm 28, Hubby is 33 with no issues.

I'm seriously confused and scared. I don't know if I have any chance of beating PCOS with just those drugs and some small dietary changes. And if we go the IVF route, I don't know if existing issues will affect our chances. All inputs will be appreciated, please.

Also, does anyone know how much the whole IVF process will cost at PF Medical, for own egg and donor? Thank you so much.

Hi Exclusive. Have you done HSG and your DH SFA? Also, what is your BMI? You have age on your side. 6 cycles of ovulation induction and follicular tracking should come before IVf if the fallopian tubes are patent.

The cost at PF is between 1-2M depending on what you will require.

Hi Mamas! I've been trawling through this thread for the last few weeks and it has been both revealing and scary.

I got married in 2019 and found out I had Grave's disease (Hyperthyroidism) few months before my wedding. DH and I decided to wait for the Grave's to go into remission before we started TTC. After months of drug therapy and finally becoming euthyroid, we started TTC in July 2021. After some months with no success, We did tests and found out I was not ovulating and I had endometriomas in both my ovaries. 8 cycles of Ovulation Induction with no success we've decided to go the IVF route. Based on comments on this thread, we decided to go with PF Medical and we're happy with our choice.

We've done the preliminary tests; Viral markers, SIS and AMH and everything is a go. The doctor says we will be using an antagonist protocol because my AMH is very high and I have high risk for OHSS. We shall be commencing the process once I get my next period.

I'm adding to this thread because I feel like it will be nice to have a support system while undergoing this journey; especially surviving the 2WW. I'll have questions and will be hoping for your kind responses.

Most people have palpitations, eating too much, defecating too much, fast heart rate, unintentional weight loss, menstrual irregularity (usually lighter period), some have bugling eyes and neck swelling.

Thanks for the reply, ma'am. I did HSG last year. One tube is blocked and the other is open. Both Docs said I can depend on the only one that is open. Husband's sperm count is around 21 with a 5ml volume. Motility 40 percent. He was given some drugs to increase the motility but we've not done a follow-up SFA. The doctor recommended Letrozole for ovulation. Is there anything else I can add through the six months before we try IVF? I really appreciate your response ma'am.

You can ask your doctor about Metformin instead of Hyponidd since use of Metformin is based on evidence. You'll also need to do follicular tracking for each cycle to determine if you will need HCG trigger.

You can also improve your chances by losing at least 5% of your weight. All the best.

You mean to stimulate in preparation for the next cycle, right? Because I don't think you can stimulate and still get results when you should have ovulated already. I think two of the most popular drugs for stimulation are Clomid and Letrozole. I don't know much about the first because I have a history of cysts, and I heard Clomid can worsen it. So I asked for something milder. Doctor recommended Letrozole but it's usually taken early in the cycle beginning from Day 2. Just my two cents.

Try and sort the blocked tube out either by reopening it or permanently blocking it because that blocked one can prevent the open one from working optimally, especially if u hav hydrosalpnx or its blocked from the ovary end. Depending on the type of blockage u hav you can take serrapeprease for three months with castor oil massage then go for flushing. It works especially If the blockage is from the uterus end. If there is hydro my sister take care of it whether u are trying naturally or via ivf so you dont end up wasting both money n time. All d best

Research has shown that those who return to their normal lifestyle after transfer get better ivf results. The three days your Dr wants to giv u is very ok. Just ensure you take thgs easy, avoid heavy lifting n anythg strenuous. Except ur job is very very stressful n you think u might be involved in strenous activities then u can take casual leave. Even at that dont stay more than a week at home cos anxiety in the second week is worse and you are better off working or in the midst of people and things that will take ur mind off it. All the best

Thank you @Blendy77! I’m a resident doctor so my job can be stressful on some days. I guess I’ll ask him to make it five days so I can work during the second week. Thank you for being ever so helpful.

Yes, it's an OTC. But I thinks it works more for helping the ovaries release follicles than the actual rupturing. If your follicles don't rupture, you might still need an HCG injection.

Please how do I know if it's from the uterus end or the ovary end or if it's hydro? I'm a bit confused, but I'll start with the serrap and castor oil massage.

From the xray film u will see the type of blockage u have. If its the ovary end the dye will pass through the tube but wont flow out so it will form a balloon. If its the uterus end, the dye wont pass thru at all so u wont even see the dye inside the tube cos that blocked tube will be blank as in dark. Also the report will say tube was visualized but not patent or tube not visualized. If visualized it means tube was seen but not open for the dye to pass thru. I hope this helps. Also check online to read about it or send me the report via email let le see how i can help you inteprete it. All d best.

How old is ur wife? Did u do hsg after d opening to confirm the tube is now open? If yes, check that that other parameters are ok, hormones, sper.m, age very important and ovarian reserve (amh). For ivf in ibadan, no idea but if she can do Abuja, primecare is ur best bet as they are very affordable and very good too.
