lexy2014:If you don't want to use cashless options, no big deal. You still have other options : 1. Keep complaining about "Chaos and suffering" 2. Pay 25% fee to collect new notes from POS or stick to using old notes that will soon be rendered invalid by Feb 10. 3. Stay long hours on ATM queues to withdraw max 20k if you are lucky the ATM dispenses. Whatever you choose from the 3 options to do your day-to-day transactions is none of my business at the end of the day. Last, Last everyone will be alright months from now! |

kevoh:That's not what I asked you. How is the system over ready? Can you pls explain? If you say people are stubborn is by forcing them or helping them to see why they should switch from cash to cashless? How many "stubborn people" were forced to use ATM cards? Why create chaos and suffering because you want people to go cashless? How did you come to the conclusion that "nobody seems to want to use" banks e-channels? Is that what the banks told you? |

Urchinpainer:Na two of us dey this country. I was around in 1984 when a similar exchange was done. Where were you then? |
| Re: Despite Extension, Nigerians Can’t Withdraw Old, New Notes by omonnakoda: 1:18pm On Jan 31, 2023 |
stagger:I was around too. It did not achieve anything You must remember the 53 suitcase story Even under a military government Oluwole thrived as a centre of forgery The other time this happened was during the Civil war. That experience may have inspired Buhari When Awolowo did it it was targeted at Biafra and Gowon was not informed. That was a war situation In 1984 it was targeted at politicians but there is no evidence that it actually worked |
| Re: Despite Extension, Nigerians Can’t Withdraw Old, New Notes by stagger: 1:23pm On Jan 31, 2023 |
omonnakoda:Yes, they belonged to Major Mustapha Jokolo's dad and Atiku was the Comptroller of Customs at the airport. That currency change actually worked because a 2-week time period was given by military fiat and a cap was put on how much money you could change, based on assessments of what your profession paid you. Many politicians who stored money in Premier Beer cartons (if you remember) lost all their stashed money while they cooled their heels in various prisons across the country. Most of those politicians were rehabilitated under IBB and Abacha. If they had stayed poor after that 1984 currency change, Nigeria would have been the better for it. |

| Re: Despite Extension, Nigerians Can’t Withdraw Old, New Notes by stagger: 1:27pm On Jan 31, 2023 |
omonnakoda:Yes, Jokolo was Buhari's ADC but the money belonged to his dad who was the emir of Gwandu. |

stagger:I do not believe it worked at all That is not my recollection. I remember a lot of underhand dealing at Bristol Hotel in Lagos where they sold currency . That carried on throughout The highest cash seizure was from Barkin Zuwo 3.4 million naira which happened long before the currency change I don't believe there was any public review of the success |

omonnakoda:His name is Sabo Barkin Zuwo, the Kano governor who beat Abubakar Rimi of the PRP in the Verdict '83 polls. |

stagger:Rigged election Government money in government house |
| Re: Despite Extension, Nigerians Can’t Withdraw Old, New Notes by stagger: 1:33pm On Jan 31, 2023 |
omonnakoda:A heavily rigged election. That was when ballot box stuffing and snatching was perfected because the boxes then were made of wood and not the transparent material used these days. Some of the boxes arrived already stuffed with votes. |

stagger:Well we never confirmed whether it was money but we know that suitcases entered the country in the middle of the exchange and were not searched |

bennybuhari:*WHEN GOD ACTED* Does anyone remember 1983 to 1985? Under Buhari a Muslim and Idiagbon his assistant, a Muslim. Life was tough in every sense of the word Then God acted. In July of 1985, Buhari and Idiagbon were swept off. In 1993, we had MKO Abiola, Muslim, and his running mate Baba Gana Kingibe. They were supported by all and sundry. There were no WhatsApp at the time and Christians never had the information that Abiola had sunk 1 MILLION BIBLES AT THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AND WAS AN AGENT OF THE JIHADIST MUSLIMS. In June Christians and Muslims alike trooped out and voted That morning after an all-night prayer meeting and two hours to go and vote, a brother said: "Thus says the Lord, neither Abiola nor Tofa, but God's Will". Those who had been praying were shocked to hear that. The votes were counted and the results were being announced. Then the unexpected happened. IBB annulled the election. Neither Abiola nor Tofa was accepted by God Fast forward to 1997 to 1998. Sanni Abacha was in charge Five political parties were formed. All adopted Sanni Abacha as their Presidential Candidate. There was no opposition from anywhere. Then on June 8, 1998, the unexpected happened. Abacha was found dead. God acted again. There was a clamor for Abiola to be brought back as President Again the unexpected happened on July 7, 1998, Abiola was pronounced dead. God acted again. God cannot be mocked. He is ever on the Throne. He sees that Nigerians are again helpless. *Will He act?* Wait and see. God is alive on this Planet Earth. God is very much around. So brethren, no need to fight one another. We should remain united in asking for God's intervention. *When all else fails, remember God is around to ACT* He will still act. MAY GOD ACT AND SINK THIS MUSLIM MUSLIM TICKET AND THE ATTEMPT AGAIN TO IMPOSE MUSLIM JIHADIST GOVERNMENT ON NIGERIANS IN JESUS CHRIST NAME. Please type Amen share until we get at least 1million Amens. Whatever we agree on earth is agreed in heaven. |

derecho:for the umpteenth time, If God doesn't want Tinubu to be president, he would make nigerians suffer for cash? why did God not just take his life or buharis life? After all, is it not the same tinubu who brought buhari the disaster on nigerians? what has God got to do with the decision and choices you support and make as a nigerian? if Nigerians are suffering and you are happy because you think it will affect Tinubu, what concerns about tinubu? |

Urchinpainer:Such naïve remark, if you think that the currency swap and cash withdrawal limit will affect any politician in Nigeria, these guys were running things when Emefailure was just a bank teller in zenith bank. He went to daura to get their permission to extend the deadline which he initially bragged he would never extend. You cant fool me, Emefailure is the one working for them, off all CBN governors to the date he is the least respected and regarded. Have you ever heard a CBN governor get called by the senate? Ah you may not know indomie brat, go and have another dose of your indomie medication, at least it occupies the vacuum in the your empty skull. |
| Re: Despite Extension, Nigerians Can’t Withdraw Old, New Notes by Urchinpainer: 9:43am On Feb 01, 2023 |
quentin06:You must be a moronic entity to think that Emefiele extended the deadline because of the House of Rep! This is a game of chess, he knows exactly what he is doing. After the extension withdrawal of notes above N100 over the counter was halted. If you have any atom of sense you will know that Emefiele is winning this war over the politicians! How much do you think a bank is given in a week? You think that amount will be enough for ordinary local government chairman? You think election is clubbing? Go and educate your tiny little brain! You sound so dumb and stupid! |
