Guys, which credit card is suitable for someone who just got into the UK two weeks ago? How do one build his credit score as a newcomer of two weeks?

Why the hurry? Give it a few months, settle down and understand how things work here before delving into the messy world of credit cards.

What matter most is getting the hands-on experience and a placement at the end of the course. There are testimonies from previous cohorts that went through the same training process and have landed themselves a good paying jobs that comes with sponsorship.

Okay.is high impact career a UK establishment or affiliated with UK recruiters? Cos that's the aim, there are tons of trainings but this has to be specific

Please is there a way one can check if they overworked 20 hours?
I'm really confused about the way different agencies calculate their work week
Some say the week starts Sunday
Some say it starts Monday
How does one keep safe

Also are there people who have overworked 20 hours at least once that have gotten pswp?

Why pay that high for Data Analytics when High Impact Career is there for you. It’s £600 for 10 weeks but subsidized for Nigerians and Africans at large to a price of N200k or it’s equivalent.

Check Ogbeni Dipo’s bio on Twitter for more information.

This sounds interesting.
Please, have you taken any courses from them, or do you know anyone who has? I'm considering their BA or DA course but would like to hear from someone with firsthand experience. I once paid for a BA course that turned out to be crappy, as far as I'm concerned, and just trying to avoid making the same mistake again. I've checked them on Trust Pilot but they don't have any reviews. Thanks

Please share the one you used.
I have attended info sessions with high impact and I think they are legit. I personally rate some of these Nigerian trainings higher than some in the UK because they tend to focus on getting the job especially with the rise of remote working. I may go for a BA with them in the next cohort if I don't get the position I desire.

That's very correct.
The one I used was Business Analysis School, owned by a Canadian-based Nigerian lady. After paying over N200k they just assigned us an uninspiring teacher who was just taking us through a boring class. She would just present a slide and start reading to us. They expected us to complete the whole online teaching within 2 or 3 sessions (I can't remember now because I quit after 2 classes). It was so boring and cumbersome, like sitting from morning to evening just listening to some boring presentation. I have taken several courses on Coursera and I know how interactive they can be. That was what I was expecting, but ended up disappointed.

Ah! Eno, and to think I considered taking her training. I think I listened to one of the intro sessions and decided against it. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes these first hand reviews are vital in helping us to make the right choice.

I don't think this condition applies to a dependant.

Hello Mentors,

I got an offer with a top Engineering and Management consulting firm, with a start date of 11th September 2023.

They said they need to switch me to a skilled worker visa prior to my starting date.

I just got a mail this morning, to submit all the necessary documents, that they will proceed with the visa application immediately.

I started my MSc last year September so I will be graduating this September which is still 7-8months ahead.

My question are:
1) Should I proceed with the application now or wait till closer to my course end date ?

2) They said they will cover the cost of visa fee but I'm expected to pay the IHS fee myself which is currently £625 x no of years ( however, they included a caveat that if I should inform them if I can't afford it) should I go ahead and informed them that I cannot afford it, will they offer to pay it on my behalf ?

3) My current student visa will expire 30th January 2024, which means I still have about 1year of IHS surcharge left. Will this be transferred or can I claim it back?

Yea, that's it. I joined one of her masterclasses and it looked promising, probably because she held that herself. That was what prompted me to enroll.

Please if you find any way to check how many hours one has worked, please kindly let me know 😊

Please I believe you should proceed with the application now as that is the end goal and it takes some time to process this visa

From my experience they’ll deduct the amount from your salary over a period of time if you cannot afford it

According to University of Greenwich, "UKVI define a week as a period of 7 days starting with a Monday. During this period, you must not work more than the maximum hours per week allowed by your visa. This weekly limit includes paid work and unpaid work "

Go through the process and select an option relating the your need.

And this is for contacting them from outside the UK https://ukvi.mysecurepay.co.uk/

Thanks for your response. This is actually the contact link I have been using, inside the UK though, and for my category, it always ends the call with computer generated responses. I have contacted my MP as was suggested here. I hope to get some progress out of it.

You can't do the other job during your work hours, which is typically Monday - Friday 9 - 5 or whatever you configuration is stated in your contract.

You can do it on the weekends as you plan but only if you're sure it won't affect your performance or ability to discharge your duties at your main job.

Just bear in mind that should any issues arise as to your performance and the company is or becomes aware you had a second job, they'd be able to say you breached your contract regardless of how true it might be, because the contract gives them discretion.
