Use common sense when choosing a partner abeg!

It is common knowledge at this point, from even looking around at those married around you, that 83% of males who enter into hypogamous unions — marriages where both parties are not of the same economic bracket or at least close — end up regretting it. Many of these men enter into these unions where they take on another adult as a dependent of theirs, hoping to install themselves as gods in marriage by that act, only to realize too late that they in fact married a human being and not a robot. It should equally be common knowledge to any Nairalander that the majority of men who come on Nairaland mostly complain viciously about having wives who do not contribute to the financial upkeep of the home. Why point this out? Well, if you, in seeking God, end up choosing hypogamy, you should automagically know right there and then that what you found is not God's choice but yours since God is all about wisdom aka common sense.

In my little experience marriage is not for the faint hearted.

How will you feel if somebody tells you that the person you want to get married to now despite your due diligence, that the person you are dripping in love for is your cross?

That is what marriage is all about.
You are not a saint so what makes you think the person you are dying to get is a saint?

The real concept and purpose of marriage is grossly defeated. Marriage is sweet and painful.

Three main pillars of marriage to the best of my knowledge is:-

1 Purpose
2 Love
3 Prayer

Take one out and that marriage is as good as gone.
