I can see the empathy and pain the real life event caused but this movie was so subpar that I couldn't feel any empathy towards the actors. I watched it with disgust.
The actors were very bad, I don't know where they got them from.
The directing was very bad, the cinematography na 'just manage', the camera work is nothing to write home about. The only thing that held up in the film is the rl story and nostalgia🌚😏
I swear. Very bland movie.
For such an event,it couldn't even traumatize me.

The first Black Panther film did well. It grossed $105mn in China in 2018.
No, i said what i said which is fact.
Blank phanter made 105m dollars and so forking what?

They hide their racism by throwing figures at us so blacks won't see the bigger picture and the deep racism.

Research on the top 20 highest grossing foreign movies in china and check if you will see black phanter or any Black history movie.

As popular as black phanter one, it didn't make it into top 20 of the highest grossing foreign movies in china and yet Black phanter is amongst the highest grossing Movies of all time.
can't you the bigger picture here.?

Look passed the dollars they throw and look at the bigger picture...

Top 20 highest grossing movie in china and no black phanter 1 and yet Black phanter gross higher that most of the movies on world level.

Think about it Very well.

China hates blacks, the earlier you know the better for you.

The only luck Africa had is that china wasn't the country that handled slavery, if not slavery will still be in existence today.

USA and Europe over china any day and any time.

This is why i pity blacks that supports China over USA and Europe.

This right here is the slavery mindset.

Accepting the actual slave masters ( Uk /Us) as the best because it could've have been worse under a different master ( China)

Black Panther (2018) grossed $688M worldwide outside of The USA and Canada and in that total China contributed a $104m, a whopping 10%!.

Black directed movies don't do that well in the US too to be fair, and it was Black Panther (2018) that broke the norm with that 700M, you have to back as "Crazy Stir" (1980) to see another black film that did really well in the BO when adjusted for inflation. Even "Get out" (2017) that was so critically acclaimed that it was getting Best Picture shout barely scrapped $174M in it's entire cinematic run in the US. Will you call that racism?

Black or American movies not doing so well in China isn't down to racism as such, it is due to so many factors with the chief one been that because of the animosity between China and USA, USA entertainment is not exactly hotbed in China, the Chinese are heavy on thier on home grown cinema before any other country.

Black Panther: Wakanda forever 2022 isn't an African film in the real sense of it, as you have been preaching it to be. It is an American produce film with actors of black origin who combined haven't spent up to a month in Africa ridiculously mimicking an African accent, with a story line about a fictional technological advanced african city with a fictional mineral resource. If for anything, the movie thrives on black tax and the proceeds will ultimately go to the US economy, not one African country is benefiting significantly from it.

And the Racism you have been on about these past few days, it's everywhere. African Americans in the US have the most innate hate for Blacks in Africa. There are some confederate states in the US that as a black man, you dare not pitch tent or else your life will be in literal danger. How many US manufacturing firms have you seen here as compared to Chinese ones? Even business inclined people here, prefer to go to China and do business, and import than do that in the US, because of the ease. You can just order a pouch from AliExpress and within 3 weeks max, Speedaf for a minimal fee is at your doorstep in Nigeria with the pouch, Try that with Amazon, and you will need a US address for them to ship most items or be ready to pay exorbitant shipping fees on Fedex or DHL.

It's a stupid movie, there's nothing nostalgic about the movie sef....

I saw it on Sunday after a really stressful day and I wanted to hold a beat down for all those involved. With the controversy around it, thought it would at least be better. The movie could actually be cut down to 20 minutes and you'll not miss anything.

It's not deserving of 1/10 sef because we already know the story. I read an article about the incident just to refresh my memory and the article was more interesting than the movie.

Shiiit mehn, how can Linda Ikeji make a mature man like me to be brought to tears 😭😭😭😭😭😭 just like that?
Hard man, hard man, this movie broke the water falls in my face and water start dropping out from my eyes.

Movie isn't for the faint hearted. I am not sure any of the families and friends of the 4 students can watch this movie. I don't even recommend this movie to any close families and friends of the 4 students burnt to death, because the movie is going to mess them up mentally and emotionally.

Anyways back to the movie, forget about the quality, this is not a movie where you should begin to judge based on Western standard, just focus on the message this movie has passed.

Jungle justice in NIGERIA has taken lots and lots of Innocent lives

There should be a law in our constitution that forbids jungle justice.
There should be a program, an enlightenment program to all the rural and local areas in NIGERIA, to those uneducated folks in our local areas in NIGERIA on the need to say No to jungle justice.
Our local chiefs and kings needs to be enlightened.

The need to stop jungle justice should be a Federal emergency and utmost priority.

Kudos to Linda Ikeji because personally this movie is Oscar worthy, i swear down.

All the students and Linda Ikeji needs to take all the awards and Oscars because this is one of the best movies in recent Nigeria history.

The injury makeup, the burning of the cars, the protest, the destroying of cars etc were epic. Kudos to all the crew and more oil on the head of Linda Ikeji.

Beautiful message passed across and the need to use black berry phones to make calls in the movie was an extraordinary move and idea since the jungle justice happened in 2012.
That was an extraordinary ideaπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Like i said this movie is 10/10 and the best Nigeria movie in recent times.

It's unfortunate that Nigerians don't accept their own because this movie is in the same class with movies like saraphina of south Africa.

How i wish i can kiss Linda Ikeji right now 😎😎😎😎😎.

And for those saying she shouldn't have made the movie, please y'all should stop being hypocritical. How many western historically sad movies and series have you watched and praised?

Don't be a hypocrite.

I don't have the time to break down most of what you said, but most of your statement here is actually the "Slavery Mindset".
Did China actually partake in slavery? US and UK enslaved you for hundreds of years and still do to some extent but you're bothering about an imaginary superpower that haven't put you in chains literally and keep your future generations in bondage.
Just dey play. Dey play.

How many black movies has grossed big numbers even in the US. Remove Black Panther and tell me any other Black Movie that has done blockbuster numbers in the US or UK. I'm waiting....

This Black Panther movie you've been campaigning for since how many days now, I don't even rate it as an African Movie. I hardly see anything African in it asides from the appropriation of our culture as Black roots.
One thing I know of the Black Panther movies is it's pandering to Africans and I think it's working. On you especially.

It's not that deep. If they leave Africa alone, Africa might just collapsed. The world and not just Africa needs China!. For example, Semiconductors which forms the bases of all electrical gadget from consoles, to phones, to electric cars even. China produces about 50% of the total world wide demand. Samsung a south Korean company, has thier biggest Nand Memory production plant in China. If i begin to name the things China produces for various manufacturing companies, you will not believe your eyes.

Bold of you to think African leaders can ever be wise, blame them for leveraging thier future borrowing money and resources from China that they can't realistic pay back. Can't blame China for exploiting this foolishness, because Africa has abundant natural resources but yet so impoverished. If the US or UK has such opportunity, they will plunder Africa too with relish, or you think the billions of dollars, Joe Biden is sending to Ukraine, is because of "good will"?

Many of them love to hate China because of the trash the West has spoonfed them with CNN, Fox, BBC, AFP and the likes...

They fail to see the good China has brought to the world. Even US with their bullshìt anti China rhetoric knows how important that country is to their economy. But average Naija man go Siddon for here dey yarn anyhow.
Many people don't know how reliant the US economy is to China. Majority of US debt is owed to Chinese but you go hardly hear this one for news.

Even the iPhones our Naija brothers like to use as a form of social class status, it's majorly produced in China. If it was produced in the US many people across the globe won't even be able to afford it.
Heck, 50% of the world's steel production is actually produced in China.

No country is entirely independent of others. The earlier we realise this the better. Whether Communism or Capitalism, it works both ways.
People don't realise how it's bad to have just one alternative.

Detroit

An intense, gritty, and unflinching look at the 1967 Detroit race riots. The performances of the main characters were outstanding.

The movie follows the story of a group of African American men who were brutally beaten and held hostage by police in the Algiers Motel during the riots.

The movie does an excellent job of exploring the racism and injustice of the era, and how it shaped their lives. I found the film to be very thought-provoking and powerful. The movie does a great job of highlighting the struggles of African Americans in the face of institutionalized racism. Overall, I highly recommend Detroit for its powerful and moving story.
