The governor is stupid, banks no longer accept the old notes , how is it the supermarket's fault.
The babaringa thief should bring out the old naira notes they have buried in billions and stop causing hardship in the country.

Which overnight are you talking about? Government has been shouting since last year asking people to take their old notes to the bank so why have some people refused to do so ?
Nigerians just need draconian leadership. The present situation has shown that even the masses are not ready for their liberation. How these governors became the advocates of the masses all of a sudden puzzles the mind. Fuel has become a burden on Nigerians since nearly 3months now, no Governer has deemed it fit to speak on the matter, but naira redesign to prevent rigging, crime and monumental corruption is of greater interest to them.

Most filling stations in Abuja now don't accept the old currency again, and I heard banks would stop accepting it as well from Monday. But the AGF said recently that the FG would comply with the Supreme Court order. Can somebody please clarify what exactly the stance on the old notes is as of now!?
Na CBN go talk not AGF

Stupidity at its peak now.

He just wants people to cower to submission. He should attack the real issue and get real reliefs for people before taking these steps, but no, these are the easy things to do.
When the supreme court rules otherwise on the 15th.
Then anybody can do anyhow
Beyond that
The old money remains legal

When you come online you will see Peter Obi fans shouting suffering and smiling but in this Emefiele policy failure, it is still them that are supporting it who then is suffering and smiling. The one who refuses to suffer or the one who supports Emefiele to afflict him. Tribalism is too rooted in igbos. They will support any rubbish as long as you are their kinsman.
In fact I'm beginning to conclude that Obidients are the ones that mopped up the little new notes that idiot emefiele printed, that's why they are in his support perpetually

yet, state governors have a duty to maintain law and order by preventing actions dat are capable of breaching public peace.thry can also decide who does business within their area of influence.
Just listen to yourself, which action is the owner doing that is capable of breeching public peace? is the owner bank or CBN? they have the right to maintain law and order not encroaching on someone else's right. Where your right stops is where someone else's right starts, he only has the right to shut him down if he isn't paying taxes or breach other state laws not selling to customers with old money. He doesn't have that right. The owner can determine whom to sell and what to sell and if he decides to sell to section of people with new money it is his prerogative, you can move out and buy from someone who collects old money. Aside the politics are you saying he can go to market women and if they decides not to sell him due to currency swap he can arrest all of them or seize their goods? He is just exercising an ultra vires power. Let the owner take him to court and claim damages. The problem is not the owner, banks are not collecting the money, the CBN did not want to issue statement regards to the deadline are you saying the owner should bear the losses because of power play between FG and state government?

and who determines a legal tender in a country? Money is the exclusive reserve of the FG.

They failed to swap the old notes through the many banks, why do you think they would succeed in doing it themselves? To me it's a gamble.

Keep quiet, i went to the market yesterday, the old money was accepted and i used mine, again, a major POS guy in the same market received not less than 700k in my present from customers selling in the market, he was even the one telling customers that both the old and the new notes are to be used for now. let me ask you, those money he collected where is he taking them to, is it not the bank? an ignorance person trying to mislead others.

We support the policy because we don't want criminals and unpatriotic elements to buy votes. Also we don't want those criminals who have been hoarding billions of Naira in their homes to be able to launder them.
