CBN said they will continue to swap it for the next three months. This is reason enough for every big supermarket to continue to accept it.
Where did they say so?
Do you have the circular?

The old notes will be redeemable only at CBN after the deadline.

That’s the way to go

The Kano State Government has no right to do this

Already falling in line with Tinubu's body language.

The moment Tinubu is announced president elect, the naira swap policy becomes null and void.

Even cbn principal officers will start parking their luggage out of their offices before the sledge hammer get them.

To be safe don't collect old notes. If the CBN directs banks to stop collecting the old notes as deposits, guy shey Ganduje will reimburse you?
Nawteemaxie:
Most filling stations in Abuja now don't accept the old currency again, and I heard banks would stop accepting it as well from Monday. But the AGF said recently that the FG would comply with the Supreme Court order. Can somebody please clarify what exactly the stance on the old notes is as of now!?

Which overnight are you talking about? Government has been shouting since last year asking people to take their old notes to the bank so why have some people refused to do so ?

Just shut up, people should deposit the old notes, where are the new notes to replace them or we shouldn't spend again?

Hope you know with what you type exposed you as illiterate . It's legal until court rules on the matter and the rulling is in cbn favor before it cease to be legal tender

Supreme court is toothless.

Buhari has proven that over and over.

Old naira notes are defunct

Just listen to yourself, which action is the owner doing that is capable of breeching public peace? is the owner bank or CBN? they have the right to maintain law and order not encroaching on someone else's right. Where your right stops is where someone else's right starts, he only has the right to shut him down if he isn't paying taxes or breach other state laws not selling to customers with old money. He doesn't have that right. The owner can determine whom to sell and what to sell and if he decides to sell to section of people with new money it is his prerogative, you can move out and buy from someone who collects old money. Aside the politics are you saying he can go to market women and if they decides not to sell him due to currency swap he can arrest all of them or seize their goods? He is just exercising an ultra vires power. Let the owner take him to court and claim damages. The problem is not the owner, banks are not collecting the money, the CBN did not want to issue statement regards to the deadline are you saying the owner should bear the losses because of power play between FG and state government?
ever heard of overriding public importance?

They should accept Old Currencies and who'll get it back from them.

Not like they've got a special entry to the bank.
Not like the bank are accepting old notes again

If that's the case, they actually lose nothing by being forced to shutdown for now... The overwhelming majority of Nigerians can ONLY transact with old notes in their possession, no be everybody be Emefiele, his family, or cronies at CBN way get access to CBN's audio printing press.
