tunapawizzy: The governors are not afraid of Buhari. He is what is called a dead duck President. His term will soon end and he will fade into obscurity. They have their immunity and have nothing to worry about. The only reason why no governor has attacked Buhari personally is his 12 million Buharists. -Lord |

blowjohn: How many 200 naira notes will they bring at the polling station. It will be very noticeable and implicating. Unlike using the usual 1000 note. They are very stranded, hence that's why they are resisting it |

LordAdam16:This up there bolded is enough reason to be afraid of him. Most governors in the north, particularly the APC ones are riding on the status and image of Buhari in the core north. 12 million Buharists is no joke in the equation. It's not about their immunity or lack of it. If they ever come out against Buhari in the north, it's advantage Atiku. They openly brag about inheriting Buharis northern votes, this is why they are afraid of criticizing him As for Ortom, his people say he failed, his people are obviously anti-APC, so he's safe playing anti Buhari, for the sake of his senatorial ambition 1 Like |

blowjohn:The point is that Buhari and CBN know the amount of old 200 notes in circulation. They know the value of old 1000 and 500 notes still out there. Now if u want to exchange ur 1k and 500 for 200, u have to go through CBN, wahala for those who have store of 1k and 500 in their houses. The people that want to buy votes most likely would have kept 1k notes at home(my guess). |

tunapawizzy: Not many are riding on the status and image of Buhari. Buhari is old news, but Northern culture like the West places a premium on respect for trailblazers. Buhari has done his best for the North and is currently the avatar of Northern interest. You can't just recklessly attack him because of your selfish ambition. It will not earn you support, rather it'll erode it. So it's not about being scared of Buhari as a person per se, it is that beside the Sultan, no one else in the North commands as much respect as Buhari. I'm just pointing out the nuance. We both agree that the govs can't attack Buhari. You think it is borne out of fear. I think it is because of prudence. Buhari is the fly on a nutsack. -Lord |

baralatie: Dude, this is Nigeria. He deliberately put up this announcement after the Supreme Court failed to deliberate yesterday and adjourned the case so close to the polls. Now, he has told the Supreme Court to pound sand. And they can't hurriedly come up with an emergency order because they pushed it to the 22nd, thinking they're smart. The plan has always been to keep adjourning until after the elections. Buhari just told those miscreants to f*ck off. And to avoid making it seem like Emefiele is out of sync with Aso Rock, he gave a public address. No one in the entire Judiciary can sanction Buhari. If they hold him in contempt, who is going to act on it? If them get mind, let Ayoola and Okoro hold Buhari in contempt, then kick it to Gbaja to use it as a pretext to put articles of impeachment to a vote (it would fail in the house, but as an academic exercise, let's assume all that happens). Then we'd find out just how many votes Tinubu will get on the 25th. Buhari's address this morning was a chess checkmate. He offered El-Rufai and co an out yesterday. They had the guts to reject it. Now he's made it policy and told them to do their worst through the Judiciary. The cold civil war will continue until a winner emerges. The governors will deliberately scuttle enforcement in their states and that may help with securing votes. So Ondo, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos will have lax enforcement. But it will be a risky bet. If Atiku wins, all those money will become tissue paper and a lot of these outspoken governors will be unable to install their successors which will be their punishment. For governors like Akeredolu, they've gone too far to back down now. This is the final hurdle. So they'd take any risk. All that matters right now is the Northern vote. I still think there's a February surprise coming. Who would the Imams endorse on 24th Juma'at? -Lord 2 Likes 1 Share |

femisplash: There is something called experience and some people said, it is the best teacher. He thought that will be all but unknown to him that those who taught him that still have much more in stock. He was made to understand that, during the primaries for both PDP and APC at both the federal and state levels. But unknown to them, that the music they were dancing to it's rhythm was being listened to, by him. He got the meanings of the lyrics and instead of asking them for the meanings, he contacted the writer not even the singer, of the lyrics and then, there was gnashing and agony on their faces. You made me, then go and make yourself. Do you gerrit? But if you don't gerrit, .............. |
