Rubbish! This policy has come to stay. Any governor that stashed money in their houses are free to cry. They are afraid of online transactions because they will be recorded. |

Ortom should shut the hell up. I remember he was the first governor to start the Buhari for a second term campaign when he was still in APC. Please how did Buhari justify/deserve a second term? |

searchlight:Who is the "you" that you wailers? Can you provide evidence of that conversation? When did it become the job of cbn to stop vote buying and electoral malpractice? What concerns Tinubu with cbn policy? Why should cbn put millions of Nigerians in suffering because it wants to target one man? How does is that justified? If you want to suffer, you are free to suffer but there's no where in the constitution that says that the govt or CBN should suffer nigerians because of election. If you know where it is in the constitution, pls share |

StJasper:Cashless policy is better |

shuttox:Cashless policy is better but do you think Nigeria and Nigerians are ready for cashless policy? Telecommunication networks are wacked, bank networks are at zero level, many communities in Nigeria are not even covered by any telecommunication company network and many Nigerians are illiterate. Moreso, an economy can't be 💯% cashless. Advanced economies like the US, UK, Canada, etc still use cash. There is no economy in the world that is 💯% cashless. Furthermore, the policy shouldn't be implemented in a way that will make people take a journey to hell and return. The time given for the cash swap is damn too short. There are countless communities and local governments that have no single bank and there is no way they can successfully key into the policy within the short period of time. Don't forget the fact that they said they want to remove money influence from election. My question is, will they redesign the naira again in 2027 and subsequent elections? Finally, the nature of our economy here doesn't allow us practice 💯% cashless policy. Will you transfer money to the bus conductors? Will you transfer money to the cobbler who polishes your shoes? Will you transfer money to the fried yam or roasted corn seller by the roadside? |
