Just two weeks ago, Obi tweeted in support of the CBN swap policy and the FG. He even said swap policies comes with pain in other countries, which is not true:

The currency redesign is not peculiar to Nigeria. It is an exercise that comes with some inconvenience and pain but it has significant longterm economic and social benefits. Even though there are improvements that can be made,

I urge Nigerians to bear with the CBN and Federal Government with the hope that the general populace and Nigeria will harvest the gains that will come with the reforms.

Obi is marketing himself as a leader to liberate Nigeria but didn't have the foresight that the pain of the scarcity will birth citizen revolts and anarchy. Because of the political gain he thinks he will get from the situation, the selfish Obi supported a policy that was hammering Nigerians with unprecedented hunger and discomfort.

Today, he wrote this which contradicts his message in every form. Hypocrisy at its peak:

There have been reported pockets of skirmishes in Benin City and other places arising from the recent scarcity of cash. I plead with Nigerians to be patient; help is coming. The suffering and harsh economic realities have brought untold anger on the people.

Fair enough, i didnt agree with his assessment on the cash swap, though i wonder if he had confidence that the CBN wouldnt mess it up so badly it would end up this way. If he was under the assumption they printed enough cash i can understand where he is coming from.
