download obd app on google play one i know is torque pro, then plug the BT scanner to your obd port, search and pair with your phone and connect. once connected, you use the torque pro to scan

Driving from the island to berger axis this morning and noticed my crv 08 lost power as i was getting off the road. Radiator was empty even though it was full yesterday. Mechanic said my fan wasnt working and the gasket is burnt.

What kind of repairs cost am i looking at?

Depends on the level of damage.
Cost at the discretion of the mechanic as only him can ascertain the level of damage.

start by scanning the transmission, it will make your diagnosis very easy and narrow things down. the second thing is seems your vehicle is moving in higher gear, your low range gears are faulty but like i said scan vehicle first especially the transmission

I. Noticed something about Honda crv 2007 - 2008 models. Their fans easily gets faulty and even the wire that connects to the fan always melts and burns (part of the reason the fan stops working) the question i want to ask is this.. Is there any lasting solution to fixing the fan and the wires??

Is the fan running always? Does it come up when you turn on the ignition?
If your answer is yes, then you'll burnout the fan rapidly because it's not designed to work that way.

Ask your technician to revert back to factory settings. The fan should only work at varied speeds when the car reaches certain temperature.
But before reverting your cooling system, kindly do a pressure test on your hose, pipes, radiator and radiator cover to be sure they can withstand boiling pressures.
If it fails the test, just use a stronger wire and good relay for the fan jeje to avoid stories.

Yeah, once those ‘jaga-jaga’ numbers start showing on the dashboard and a simple fluid change didn’t solve your issue then it’s to change the gearbox. How I wish I saw those symbols sooner I’d have told you what’s up.

Go through luvinhubby for another cvt transmission. He’s in the market right there where they sell it.

Good morning boss, I had a crazy experience with this transmission thingy, I got a new transmission and the same problem still persisted. The person that sold transmission didn’t want to give full refund, lost about 100k as they did not give full refund. To cut the long story short my transmission was still in good condition. So the fuel pump changing, the fluid changing, the transmission changing wasn’t necessary.

It was actually raising sensor that was faulty or Atleast that was the little information the mechanic gave. I’ve fixed it and I’ve not experienced anything for like 20 days now.

I just feel I should drop this Incase there’s anyone else that had this same issue
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by quam9997(m): 12:41pm On Feb 19, 2023
I recently noticed however that my fuel gauge indicator isn’t working and sometimes fluctuates.

Could it have been the bad petrol from black market that clogged the fuel pump or something is faulty in the fuel pump or it’s an electrical issue.

Anybody ever experienced this?

That raising sensor could be your electronic throttle position sensor. I’m wondering why a scan never brought it up. Are you sure that was what the mechanic touched?

Anyway it’s awesome to have this feedback, so you mean your old gearbox is back in your engine and it’s functioning well without those symbols showing on your dashboard anymore?

This is electrical. Has to do with the fuel pump housing and its accompanying components.

Absolutely .. function just like before. He did not disclose what he wanted to fix, he just gave me his price and said he wouldn’t collect a fee until he’s done with my car and I’m sure it’s working. So it was a win/win situation

As Comner44 said, the raising sensor is definitely your throttle position sensor and worse still it's surprising a scan didn't pick it up.
When the car does not receive enough power, the gear selection would be affected. A bad fuel pump would also give erratic gear shift that would make you think your gear is bad.
I've seen faulty 0² sensor cause a whole bank in a 2gr engine misfire and it never popped up any oxygen related code.
Good to know you have your gear issues fixed.

This is a very important trade secret. How I wish you were there to observe him work. You’d have had an idea of what he did.

Hopefully you’d never require his services again for the duration of ownership of your vehicle wink

You’d need the services of an auto electrician for this fix.

I believe now is a good time for you to search for the service manual of your accord. All these small-small electrical glitches usually have clear solutions in those types of manuals.

Well the mechanic could have told him the truth.

Once when my fuel pump wasn’t working properly my vehicle threw codes for the wheel sensors and for it’s safety neutral switch . Car threw the same 2 codes every time I drove until I made out time to go to market to get another pump and switch it.

Is it okay to remove thermostat from an ACURA TL 09 that keeps over heating!

Over 60% of car plying our roads don't have thermostat in them and their fans have been wired to run continuously.
You can temporarily remove the thermostat without immediate issues, but running without one for long is not healthy for your fuel consumption and engine generally.

There are a thousand and one aftermarket brand of ball joints to buy (that's if you don't have access to original OEM part). Just tell him to give you original and keep fingers crossed it would serve you.
Look out for the quality of the rubber boot, the firmness of the socket when you pull the stud, and if the clip holding the rubber boot is firm enough not to cause greasy leaks out from the boot.
For your ABS, scan the system then post codes for remote diagnosis.
