Hello. I sent you a mail, you should receive it in the registered email for your Nairaland profile. Can you respond

I am also a UCW student and I just received my PPR and resuming spring just like you. Let’s talk.

GmanAkinnx:
Hi Everyone,

Please I solicit your guidance. I applied for study permit November 15, 2022 and I have my study permit approved February 22, 2023 - The good news!!!

School - University of Canada West
Course - MBA
Province - Vancouver, BC.
Spring Intake - April 2023

First LOA from the school was Winter Intake - January 9,2023. Because the approval from IRCC didn't come in January 2023, I requested a deferral of admission till Spring Intake - April 2023. This was approved by the school and a new LOA was issued for Spring Intake - April 2023.

*My Question*
I would like to defer the admission again till Summer Intake July 2023 in order to raise additional funds to support myself (and family) but I am not sure what the immigration implications will be especially now that IRCC has approved my study permit here in Nigeria. Will they count the number of months my study permit was approved to the date I resumed for studies in the school? Someone, kindly guide me!!!

Secondly, at what point can I start to apply for my family to join me? Can I start immediately, or will I have to get into Canada first? Please guide me accordingly. What is the best way forward?

Thank you.

I did not state how the loan will be repaid on my SOP even though I already made the necessary arrangement for that.I think that should be between you and Mpower.
I presented my MBS because I had to show the money for my flight ticket going and coming back

Okay, thank you.

Use payday app, it’s very effective and that’s what I have been using to pay for my school application. Chipper app exchange rate is on the high side.
Hello please can you put me through with my study permit?!

Please I need help here, University of Guelph is requesting for English language requirements from me on my application portal, they asked I upload it. I don’t don’t have one and the messages on their website is contradicting each other. I don’t know why it was requested since I am from Nigeria. Please someone should also help me read through if I should leave the place blank or get a Letter from my university attesting that I was taught in English.

They said if your first language is not in English you should upload the test score you're from Nigeria and your first language is English I don't think you'll need it. But you'll most likely send them your Waec certificate.

I'm really grateful for this piece of advise. It has calmed my nerves smiley

My challenge now is capital to switch school immediately we arrive. Is 3-6 months too late to switch to a DLI and PGWP eligible school and will IRCC accept this?

Thank you once again! 🙏

2kurupt:

First of all congratulations are in order. You don't need to panic about the state of your school not offering PGWP. I will advise you travel then switch schools (obviously to one that has PGWP) immediately, there will be no re-application of a study permit rather you only update the IRCC of the change in schools.
I know someone in Toronto that had similar issues initially but she is now in her second year at a PGWP approved school as we speak.

Cheers

Yes but there is a pop up on my portal where I’m asked to upload it. Please anyone who as applied to the school before should help me.

The best thing to do is email the school and let them know that English is your first language and they'll tell you what to do. According to that letter you don't need English exam.

If it is signed and stamped. You can also generate MBS with the bank app

Take a look at the school's refund policy, you may be lucky and get most of your money back. I can't tell if 3 months plus will be too late but switching of schools especially within same province should not be a hassle.

If you’re switching school, you will have to apply for another study permit

Good day nairalanders.

I’ve been reading this thread for the past 2 days. Very educative. However, I have two days question.

1. I have HND upper credit, can I apply for a graduate certificate program in business admin, which is my field and job occupation ?
2. How many years can I stay in Canada while processing PR?
3. Please I will appreciate list of cheap colleges or universities for international students

I’m still online doing some research as well, but anyone with vital information should please help . Thank you

I see! Thanks for the explanation.
Shayo5:
MBS generates your statement of account in a smaller file size, for some banks your statement can be on 1 page and some banks forward your statement straight to the embassy of the country you are applying to and send you a code, it's this code you will send along with any other document you wish to use as proof of fund. you don't have to compress statements generated by MBS unlike regular statements that you might have to compress before you upload and in some cases the compression make the statement blurry.

Just checked now.My hours of instruction for the programme is 1040 hours.

They said 30% of instruction hours has a 50% refund of tuition.

Less than 30 days is 20% of tuition deposit and before programme start date is 100% refund.

Can you help with the maths please so I know the duration in months please? 🙏

Don't try ro switch from Nigeria. Start looking for another school now and receive your LOA from DLI
school with PGWP. Once you get to canada you update IRCC with your new school and province if you decided to change province

Evening lovely People..I just got my PPR yesterday, but my LOA has expired since January 9 2023 and I have been asked to submit my passport for stamping between now and 30 days..I have written my school since last month to renew my application for September 2023 intake and they haven't sent me new LOA till this moment.. And my International Passport will expire May 2024..If I take my Passport to embassy for stamping within the 30 days that I was instructed, how many month stamped visa will be on my Passport. And if luckinly I receive a new LOA before the 30 days, will I need to inform IRCC before I take my Passport to the embassy or is it advisable I inform them after my Visa has been stamped. Please I need response on this.

Also in my opinion if possible get english language proficiency letter too from your school.
