Your home is your home whether you get Pali for another country or not... I miss home everyday. Wetin we dey find go abroad if Naija is okay...

I don't know why people are wishing the country bad bkos of their Candidate... The love of Nigeria is paramount and that's what matter most

Two third of 36 states is 24 states.
Yes. Then compulsorily with 25% of FCT.

sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, I will like to use this opportunity to thank my fellow Nigerian Christians for voting massively for the candidate with the Muslim/Muslim ticket. This election has proven that we Christians and our Muslim brothers are one. Peter Obi tried to divide us by running a religious campaign but we Christians stood our ground and rejected him. May God continue to bless we Christians and Muslims for bringing this renewed Hope to our great country sad
You should be ashamed of yourself by calling yourself a born again.
All the contestants appealed to religious bodies for support and not just Peter Obi. Your bigotry and tribalism won’t let you see it.

Over to the lawyers for interpretation....I am not a lawyer
Re: 25% In FCT Not A Requirement To Emerge President – Falana by lovewins: 12:56pm On Feb 28, 2023
axponline:
The constitution did not specify which states you must get 25% in. 25% in any of the 36 states plus FCT.
If for instance the party got 25% in 23 states and 25% in Abuja s well, the interpretation is that the 25% rule in 24 states has been met because you can count FCT as a state.
If however, you already made the 25% in 24 states without FCT, FCT becomes irrelevant just like the other states where you did not score 25% becomes irrelevant.

FCT is good to make up the numbers where you fall short of 25% in 24 states, but if you already have the 25% in 24 states, FCT is irrelevant.

If FCT is to be regarded as a state, then correct interpretation will be 2/3 of 37 states meaning 25% in 25 states and not 24.

Again, I think this matter will be taken to court for interpretation. We've not had cause to because no president has failed to get 25% in Abuja since 1999

Some people will say he is supporting a candidate now just because he made a statement that doesn’t favour them.

Read foo. He said you don't have to win FCT. He never invalidated the 25% requirement.

Keep clinging on to that thin, flimsy thread of hope. Anything that sustains your fantasies and keeps you out of trouble is ok by us.

Meanwhile, we're basking in the reality that the MM ticket has won.

CAN is now CAN't, and the igboes are again reminded that they're, and always will be, inconsequential minor nuisances.

Peter Obi was called the Internet President. They are fighting him from all angles like he is the incumbent President. Peter Obi beat them online and offline and they are afraid to announce a result that they have been doctoring for the past 3 days. What a joke of a process. INEC just wasted N1 trillion naira on an election they eventually rigged when it could have costed them just N2m to have just gotten a local accountant to cook the book and rig it better than this N1 trillion they wasted.

You need 25% there though, that's the interpretation of the law. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is the capital territory of Nigeria, and it is in this territory that the capital city of Abuja is located. The FCT is not a state but is administered by elected officials who are supervised by the federal government.

I think Buhari set us all up, they will definitely form an interim government while there is a rerun.

Even if Abuja was a state, the mere fact that Abuja was specifically mentioned in the constitution as a territory one must secure 25% of votes in, means that any presidential candidate must also at least secure that margin of votes.

Just view it as a state that you must also secure 25% of votes in, including the other 2/3 of states that exist.
