oba is a yoruba word. Check google for its lexicon. The people who occupy the oba of benin throne are oranmiyan's offspring though benin are different from yoruba. Tell me the meaning of oba in edo or benin or esan language. Oba means king in yoruba. Alaafin, ooni, alake, oluwo, olu are all titles and thats why they are different
